NZ not picking up the bigger one???

ETA: Actually I think that is outside their area, but that means there may be a mag 6 that the others have not picked up yet.

Flagged as tsunamigenic by USGS.

Tologa bay has apparently not been picked up by anyone other than GeoNet yet.

It just means capable of creating a tsunami.

It does not actually mean it will however and at the depth probably not.

Here you go, from the USGS: tsunamigenic

I had a job finding this, it wasn't on any of Geonets regular pages, I found it on the pipermail pages.
The pipermail pages are something I have been using lately it is where they store the links for the archived Felt reports. Goes back to 1999

No, he means a boo boo.

Yes fake, not real, and error or mistake. No punctuation in it!!!

Seems everyone is holding a Mag 7.4 so now we wait and see if we get a 6 from it.

Nah ,will stay 7.4 until the next one I mean they will wait to see if it can be related to an aftershock to have the reason,or a main shock to get another reason...you know.

Whoa, Tonga! Didn't see that one coming!
(Gratuitous eq reference!)

Ha, ha! 'Useless'! Ha, ha!
I have the e-mail she sent me to reply to.
I looked for it, wasn't sure which account I used.
I'm very careful when I e-mail 'govment' entities!

Didn't find it yet, but youngest son upgraded everything since I got it!
Everything is rearranged again!
It's here somewhere, unless they self destruct after they're read!!!

He has IE on & it's working for me...well, I use the word, "working', very loosely!!!
He put Chrome on as an option, but I have to sign in to use it.
Haven't figured out what password he used yet though! Kids!!!

He reinstalled the firefox eq shake alerts for 5.5+, but they quit again!
I am getting audio alerts, I think from USGS.
There's a feed list on my e-mail from USGS, but that quit on the 13th!
There's a place to click & download, but that won't work either!
Stupid technology! Stupid old, slow brain!
Hate to bother him all the time, he works nights, sleeps days!

Luckily, almost our whole family is going camping this weekend, in a 'dead zone'!
Thanks to daughter & son-in-law, who won't give in to 'them'
wanting to put a tower on top of the mountain, on their property!
Miles & miles of seemingly sporadic 'no service' zones!! Priceless!!!
Will come into town for granddaughter's graduation on Sun, then leave again.

So I will e-mail Useless again, first thing Tues!
When I've cooled off a bit & am not so p o'd!
Don't want to be rude! Hopefully just somewhat convincing!!!
WOQ

I know your reply was a bit further up on the page .. Just want to say thank you for answering my question. I'm learning slowly, not long ago I thought the deeper the quake the more dangerous it was .. Not the other way round. Oh and thanks for making these threads as soon as my phone alerts me to a semi large quake I'm straight on to ATS looking for the Quake Watch thread. Keep up the good work!
