What would be wrong with arming school teachers? Perhaps the world should ask some of the parents what they think, if they would have preferred their child alive in their arms instead of face down with blood oozing from their faces. Why should a gas station employee have a firearm rather than a teacher? Why do police carry firearms?

While people are lining up now, even though the guns are being pulled off the shelves as we speak, America as a whole will never succumb to this madness.

Let the lawmakers in Washington and their cronies be the first to relinquish their weapons, we will see how fast they are shot

No it takes a mentally retarded person to think the US populace could hold off or defeat our military....and I've served in the Army!

The U.S. is pussyfooting in those wars. If we wanted to win we would in a single day! Our destructive capabilities can not be matched on this planet. We have weapons so destructive we don't dare use. Troops have armour that our small arms won't penetrate.

It won't even be necessary for American troops to fire on citizens...there's a plan in place to replace them. Every soldier can be sent home and we would still ahve a military.

If shtf and the military wanted to put us down.....we would pass as quietely as gas from a newborns bum.

There are certain logistics to something like that. Any campaign to confiscate weapons from the American public would be an epic fail. Epic...

What you fail to acknowledge with this approach (or any)is that our police officers, our military, our government officials, etc. are also American Citizens. They have families who are also American citizens (also with guns).

There's just a little fly in that ointment, bub. The US Constitution specifically forbids EX POST FACTO laws. So how is the government going to make all guns illegal without that process being patently and obviously unconstitutional?

As far as cops going door to door to unconstitutionally round up all the guns, well I predict that yes, the gun owner answering the door with a gun will be killed. But so will the first cop knocking on the door. Maybe even one or two others standing on the porch. Eventually, the cops will run out of volunteers to be that FIRST person a long long time before the US citizens start running out of people answering their doors with guns at the ready. Eventually people will get fed up over this and take the fight directly to those who have now become the enemy killing our friends and neighbors. Ugly situation? Oh yeah.

There are a LOT of us out here that just will not tolerate ANYONE trying to confiscate our personal possessions, no matter what sort of "law" the confiscators want to dream up in order to do that.

Heck, Americans have volunteered to be shipped off to other countries to fight for the freedom of those people. Do you seriously think we won't fight like hell HERE when OUR freedom is in jeopardy?

In such a scenario, after the firtst gun nut fires on an officer come to confiscate his guns.....and the force completely swiss cheeses his home killing everyone in it...most people would not want the same to happen and would throw their guns in the yard before the police even knock.

Actually I wish that someone in the school had a gun. I fully support any teacher or principle carring a gun. I disagree with the laws that establilshed "gun free zones". Like that is going to stop anyone that desires to shoot someone.

Don't you think teachers are there to teach? Why do you think they should be given the responsibility/weight on their shoulders to have to walk into work every day wondering if they will have to kill someone? You having a gun is only a very "minor" inconvenience now. It only makes you feel good. Our techonology is too great. Without sending a single person in for you to pop with your small arm, only to have the bullet bounce off the armour harmlessly, they can simply microwave your block or a multitude of other things.

I mean hell....what if for kicks they simply threw a vial of small pox through your window...my man there are so many options.

We messed up when we allowed our military to innovate all these different weapons back in the 50's. Ever since then we have not been a threat.

I'm not sure how having a weapon for personal protection is akin to the wild west, but apparently to very small minds it is. Pilots are armed. Politicians are armed. Celebrities are armed. Law enforcement are armed. Store owners are armed. Civilians with appropriate permits and certifications are armed. In fact, I'd bet that you encounter over 100 concealed firearms a day, but don't even know it. Didn't you find it odd that none of the aforementioned were wearing cowboy hats and boots?
