There is no such thing as safe in the world, just places with better illusions and delusions of being safe. You could be hit by a car, beaten with a pipe, beaten with a bat, stabbed with a knife, stabbed with a fork, beaten with a brick, beaten with a rock, thrown down some stairs, thrown through a window, and probably a million more horrible ways to be killed, even without guns.

I would rather be shot dead then torn apart by the giant coyotes that live up here, that is for sure...... Or a bear, or a lynx, or a variety of other nasty wasy one can be killed in the woods.

Well I have protection, it´s called a FIST. That seems to be a weapon that doesnt work when every idiot owns a gun.

Fists will not work too well for my grandmother, but her pistol has saved her life on at least one occasion. Just because someone is less capable in a fist fight does mean they should be a victim.

Anyway, im outta here.. Please don´t get to mad at me. I have been watching to much TV coverage of the shooting. I am deeply sad about all those kids.

I would agree that they play these horrible events too much...not enough everyone gets to watch on the CCTVs, now we need it on a constant replay loop for weeks!

For me it´s about the KIDS!

That said statements like these seek to play on human emotions, and bypass critical thinking.

So don´t eat me alive for being pissed about guns! Go out and eat the idiots that can´t be responsible enough to carry a gun.

Being pissed about inanimate objects is illogical...you should follow your own advice, seek out these monsters who commit these horrible acts, and leave law abiding folks out of the equation.

thing is these shootings took place at places where you can't bring a gun in with you. schools, malls, no guns. every country that has comitted democide has taken citizens guns away. government should be controlled maybe repealed. if you say school and mall shootings are bad you have not looked at how much government has killed people. we need our guns more than the victims of government needed mass graves and lyme. call names do whatever. you can try to repeal the second ammendment by force but it will not happen. us armed citizens will dig in deep and move fast to stop the eugenicist government from destroying humanity. hopefully we can do this without snarling once

We don't need to entirely ban the gun, but much more regulations is needed.

- A regular citizen has no need for an an assault rifle. What purpose does owning one serve?
- Private dealers can sell guns at a gun show without doing a background check.
- Guns are easily purchased online - even at walmart.com!

Guns are too easily available to anyone, mental health issues or not.

That is knife crime, not murders. If you read the article properly, only 18 of those (in London) were murders.

You stand a better chance of survival being stabbed than you do being shot, plus there is more chance of a knifeman being stopped quickly by any member of the public without much, if any, injury.

not zombies, the apocalyse, nor military. Look anything you have can be taken at anytime. People are out of jobs and need money and whatever else. What's stopping them from taking it? Not SHTF scenario, I'm talking about something that is far more probable and possible.

Not my 82 year old grandma, even a simple "beating" could easily threaten her life.

It is coming out that the gunman used a rifle as a primary weapon.

Yeah, they lecture us about how horrible our government is, how they are facists, Nazis, dictators, killers, corrupt etc., and then they want us to hand in our guns? History tells us that won't work out too well for us, but hey what do they care, they aren't Americans.

Maybe we are human beings and have strong feelings when 20 kids are shot dead.
This is an international forum and we have as much right to speak as you.
Question have you ever said anything on ATS to do with a different country than the US....thought so.

Ban the indiscriminate medication of children by doctors who are more concerned about kickback payments from big pharma than they are about the health and welfare of those in their care. We are seeing the results of 15 years of mood altering drugs fed to youngsters who never had the chance to say no.

Guns are a tool only... it's the screwed up minds that misuse them. Banning tools makes no sense when it's obviously mentally damaged people that decide to go on murderous rampages.

hey maybe you should look at other governments with their false flag attacks, public executions, gun confiscations, total democide, government sanctioned sex slave trafficking etc. the uk in my opinion needs guns.

Look people we all have opinions on this issue but far too many of you are telling everyone not from the US to stay out of it, like I said in my last post (If you even bothered reading it) this is an international forum and we have a right to comment on anything posted on ATS.

I changed my mind because of what some of you have said, keep your guns but at least look into the way people who are mentally ill can get them. Gun control doesn't always mean banning them, just come up with a way to keep the guns away from people who may shoot 20 kids.
But If you can only bring up what happened 230 years ago to prove a point and call us names "Redcoats blah blah blah" you are only confirming to the rest of the world that you are ignorant.
