What kind of person, other than Anakin Skywalker, chooses to shoot up children? I cannot wrap my mind around this.

Consider the high death toll at Sandy Hook Elementary with just one wounded survivor. The shooter must have had extraordinary shooting abilities to achieve such a high kill rate.
They were FIVE year olds, trapped in a classroom probably frozen with fear. He probably executed them point blank.

No problem, I was in no way being critical.
The six o'clock local news here several states away was still reporting she was killed in her classroom while elsewhere the media had moved on to she was killed in her home and wasn't a teacher at all.
The misinformation and disinformation in this case has been appalling.
But, I don't hear a hue and cry in the outer world about it.
Anytime it happens people accept freely a "fog of war" explanation.
Why aren't they taken to task?
Because it would appear that's what is intended is that the truth and lies get blurred.

I do homeschool my kids and have done so for over 2 years now.. ( i had a fall out with a social worker at the elementary school) but I highly recommend it.
That's nice. Except limiting your kids to knowledge from a single source is limiting their potential. You may just end up with a very loving, dumb family.
Having said that, it's sad that home schooling is considered an actual 'solution' by Americans, to the risk of being massacred in a classroom, rather than the derrr-dumb obvious (for the rest of the planet, that is) 'cure' of gun prohibition.
How fearsome an opponent the gun lobby must be that a country feels compelled to make compromise regarding even their own children for sake of avoiding confrontation with thus fear-mongering evil.edit on 14-12-2012 by EarthlingSpelunker because: (no reason given)

Yeah, they have tons of cameras at the new school they just built here. Guess what? Those cameras don't do anything for kids protection. They catch kids smoking pot and cigarettes, and they make for harrowing news footage when something really bad happens, and that's it.edit on 14-12-2012 by GogoVicMorrow because: (no reason given)
