What happens if nothing happens on Dec 21st, 2012? Possible mass suicides in France?

Alright, This might sound pretty crass, but if people commit suicide, Wouldn't that mean they weren't mentally capable in the first place. Anyone one who commits suicide can not handle life. I contemplated it once, but I came to the realization that I was better than that. And there is something better in life, and I am here for a reason. Should've died more than a few times. Six to be exact. Someone is watching over me, and protecting me for my ultimate purpose. I am not a religous person, but I am still here. Maybe it's to pester my Ol' Man. Anyway, sorry I got off track.

Suicide is a terrible thing, but ultimately, it is the indvidual persons decision. You could try to convince them not to do it, but they will do what they believe is right for them. I'm sure there will be cults, and individuals that do it. If they go to a better place, good for them.

No worries des, i once read those who cuss more are more honest and trustworthy lol.. whether thats true or not I don't know but it sounds good whenever I let one slip! I don't know if I'll be around ATS on the 22nd.. I might come by and check a few things but honestly I've already seen people get so nasty with the "I told you so's". Of course some of these threads make me wonder at what on earth people are thinking when they post altogether. The "enlightened" screaming and demeaning and bringing their own form of negativity while condemning everyone else... sigh.. but I have learned some amazing things here as well so it all balances out but I fear this will not be the place to be on the 22nd lol

I think you are touching upon an important part of what a lot of the posters agree on as well. Which is the fragility of someones mental stability as it applies to this media driven Apocalyptic event to happen on Dec. 21st or 22nd.

Most posting on this thread are concerned that there will be many people throughout the world who will be devastated if one of the doomsday scenarios do not materialize, and nothing of significance happens.

We are concerned that many of these people will have invested great amounts of their lives practicing meditation techniques in hopes of Ascension, great amounts of their wealth for underground bunkers to secure them from solar flares, earthquakes and a slew of other doomsday scenarios. The purchase of guns, automatic weapons and ammunition in fear of being attacked. And then Dec.21st comes and nothing happens of significance, they didn't ascend, no Nibiru, no Polar Shifts, no enlightened growth which could push these fragile souls to feel so helpless, full of fear and self doubt and in a impulsive mood of lacking selfworthiness, they decide to end their lives and even worse, take innocent others with them.

I am so happy to hear that you have been blessed with the gift of life and are still here. Surely, HE wants you here for a greater purpose. 6X, wow my friend, truly blessed., No we won't be able to save everyone, but it just brings cause to be sensitive about people we do have in our lives who have held strongly to some of these extreme views, and to try to be available to them, check on them, and compassionately to show empathy and help them see a brighter future beyond Dec. 21st and beyond. If we can all do that, that surely would be a very positive and good humanly act of kindness.

I think what you have stated is certainly one the major concerns of the many posters on this thread, There are THOSE individuals who have invested quite a bit of their time (putting their familes, loved ones as a second priority in some cases ) preparing for the 12/21/2012 Doomsday scenario.

As you correctly surmise, "But the worst will happen on 12/22/2012 when the remorse, embarrassment, return to reality and hangovers of monumental proportions set in." Moments and time leading up to this self-proclaimed time of significant change, enlightenment of doomday could have a devasting affect upon those who have invested, mentally, spiritually, financially and worry.

The day or days after the 21st could unfortunately reveal countless stories of death, murders, suicide, acts of violence and large mayhem, and destruction all caused by a hyped theory which didn't materialize. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of the world to pray for one and other, be kind and loveing and compassionate to those less fortunate,

Only time will tell the full damage caused by false prophesies and false prophets. Let's hope for the best, do our best to be supportive and hope that the damage is minimal. Until then, we will just have to be patient and be the best that we can and reach out to help where possible those unfortunates who will be carrying a heavy weight of self worth.

I just recently started hearing about the people planning suicides related to Dec 21. Such a shame.

I feel pretty confident that if you're supposed to die as part of Deity's plan on Dec 21, he'll be sure to kill you. No sense in trying to do His job for Him. Let's hold off on the suicides, shall we? Please? Maybe Deity doesn't want you to die just yet. Would hate for you to erroneously jump the gun on something like that.

After all, Dec 21 might turn out to be a normal day. Hope you're all here to find out!

there are "end of the world" parties
I have never been to one
but I can't let the opportunity pass by

You sir, have I guess.... issues. And I dont mean that in a derogatory way in the slightest. I do however think that maybe a therapist wouldn't hurt. Someone to talk to...Heck I had one for quite some time and they work wonders (as long as you don't go on any rx's in my opinion at least) But you take paranoia to a whole new level. Do you know why I live in Las Vegas? My daughter and her mother moved here. For me it was stay in LA, or move to Vegas so I could be near my daughter. That was 6 years ago. I have nothing to do with the casino industry. Not that it matters, because those folks who work at the casino are hard working, nice people. Working for around 50-75k these days. I on the other hand won tell you what I do, because I honestly don't feel like telling you any more information about myself, since you seem to be a very angry paranoid person. But I will tell you I have my phd in physical anthropology, so you can make a guess as to what I do.


In all man, I hope you let go of all that paranoia. I'm sure you are a very bright person. It would be nice to share your intelligence in a way that doesn't accuse people of being government shills or what not just because they disagree with you.

ya know the vibe I get from "The Prophet of Doom Porn" is what scares me too. paranoid delusions...loose associations...

Personally, I believe that we get a different perspective from web sites like this. I think the majority of people in the real world aren't really aware of the date and don't really give it much thought and won't even realize it when nothing happens.

just a thought...maybe the gov't is promoting this 2012 business so that the crazies go hide in bunker somewhere far away from society. That way they can round them up easier without anyone knowing

I wonder how many ATS members will not be posting after the 21st.

I think there might be some suicides. In France, the larger collective has not adopted the end of the world rumors (I was telling my husband and son about that and they laughed at me- they had no idea the 2012 thing is so popular in other countries!) Only a few of our french friends know about this , because they can read/speak english and have contacts with Americans.

But then the people that are gathered at Bugarach... they've been collecting there for a while- all the doomers are in one place, therefore, and have been forming a concentrated bond together. The french are raised to be more "collective" minded- to be easily influenced by others, to conform and avoid individuality. Because of this, the government has to be ultra-alert to cults and sects.

I used to think they blew things out fo proportion on that topic (most of the groups we call religions have been deemed sects and banned from the country, like Scientology). But with time I came to recognize they do that because the people are especially vulnerable.

So I would say there is a risk, when it come to the group that has gathered at Bugarach. In the US, I am guessing there might be some isolated individuals who commit suicide, or parents that kill their children and then commit suicide.

BUT

I think also, that there might be a lot of positive that blooms from passing that date too. Anyone that has experienced expecting something really bad, and having it surprisingly not happen knows- a sense of exhiliration follows! New Courage, and joy often begins to circulate and you realize you were blocking your energy on several levels, and it all gets moving again. Some people might have a spiritual re-birth from that alone!

Then there is the question of whether the suicides aren't in fact, actually part of the "splitting" of realities?
In their subjective experience, will they experience that- or will ther consciousness leave before the suicide and experience some sort of ascension? We can't say. It's a complex idea that I refer to, something along the Budhists beliefs- we may have "died" in many realities already, where our family cried over our body, while for us, we just went on as usual, not knowing anything changed (except "whew that car sure came close to hitting me the other day! ").

For that matter, none of us in contatc with each other right now know if there was not another reality in which Y2K turned out to be a major catastrophy- but we just didn't experience it because we moved out of that reality before it happened!

We've had a number of *couple suicides*, one resulting in death and another couple more recently taken into hospital in the past week or so. No real indication of anything that could have prompted them which is worrying as we get closer to the date.

As for personal experience I've overheard quite a few older couples in restaurants talk openly about planning to *do away with themselves* as the date nears, I'm probably not the only person to have been shocked to overhear such things either.

And yes, there's always the possibility of the unhinged in our societies taking matters into their own hands helping people get over to the next plane of existance whether they want it or not. Sadly I can see a few nutters running amok. My boy doesn't break up for Christmas at school until 1pm 21st. I don't think I'll bother sending him in.

Even if nothing happens on the 21st I still think we’re going to get a record number of suicides the 21st and the 22nd, and that it’s going to global. While it’s a sad loss of life, too stop so many would be next to imposable.


What I’m a little worried about is that we won’t be able to find all the bodies before they start to rot, and we end up with some sort of bio hazard problem on our hands. Normally when people think mass suicide they think of a globally small scale event only containing a couple hundred to a few thousand people, with in a small area. Still a sad loss of life, but in the end more likely to be found by the locals and cleaned up be for any major biological problem arise (( not counting emotional problems or effect that arise )). But there is no real center to this, so the chance of a couple neighbors being dead and know one knowing they are for a while is much greater.

I just checked my calendar and it mentions winter begins but nothing about world ending.

Seriously tho this has been my only concern for 2012, Not what naturally will happen but what people feeding off the fear will do. Be it mass suicides, or TPTB implementing a plan to make all the churchies think it is the beginning of the end with wars in the middle east. Im not personally worried about the world ending if it happens it happens i would rather not dread on it. Good luck to all of you, hopefully people can keep a clear head on themselves and we all make it to the 22 alive
