Hey! Just out of curiosity... could you give us some sense of where you stand on the Ukraine situation? This is not as off topic as you might think.

Maybe you are referring to the critical USA booster components that are built in the Ukraine? I did see an article last week...

Many Americans are likely unaware of the extent to which the US, Russian and Ukrainian space programs, assets and booster rockets are inextricably intertwined and interdependent.

How in the hell did this ever happen? What 4-star general signed off on this readiness plan? How did the Ukraine get so deeply enmeshed in the USA space manufacturing supply chains? Why did major USA space manufacturing corporations stand by and let this happen?

Sharing satellite experiments and sharing seats on space craft is one level of cooperation... but with national security at stake.... I'd say Houston, We have a problem.

As of today,
USA, dependant on Russian/European rocket components.
Russia, is preying like a gangster on USA supply chain.
Ukraine, suffers the most because of the power play between USA and Russia at this time.

This could be a very high stakes poker game being played out... played out for us on television/internet. I'll bet Putin and Obama playing some really intense poker hands right now.

what i am saying is if you throw ball A to a height of 8 feet, and you delay throwing ball B to a height of 6 feet so that they both approach their respective apex at the same time... they will both fall at the same rate..

This isn't what we see in the video, though.

The Mythbusters guy is already 3/4 to the apex of his jump, when Young starts his jump.

Ball A represents the height reached by the Mythbusters guy - let's say it's 4 ft. high.

Ball B represents the height reached by Young - let's say it's 3 ft. high.

If Ball A (Mythbusters guy) reaches a height of 3 ft., when Ball B is first thrown up....what happens?


Ball A will come down to the ground before Ball B does, right?

You say the Mythbusters guy jumps higher than Young.

It's not close to making up for a head start of 3/4 height, that's for sure.

we can estimate it though.. if you dont like the method of using a grid we can use another way of estimating the height jumped..

in your opinion, tell me four things:

what frame john young leaves the ground on the first jump,
what frame he reaches his apex
what frame he lands again and
whether it was played at 1x speed or 2.46x speedup

in my opinion in john youngs first jump, he begins his jump at frame 233, he reaches his apex in frame 255 and he lands again in frame 277


at 1x speed frame 233 corresponds a time of 7.774
frame 255 corresponds a time of 8.509
frame 277 corresponds a time of 9.243

equaling a total airtime of 9.243 - 7.774 = 1.469 seconds

the apex should be right in the middle so (1.469 / 2) + 7.774 = 8.509 so no problems there..

so john young falls from his apex in 9.243 - 8.509 = 0.734 seconds

the gravity on the lunar surface is 1.62m/s^2 so given that john young is basically dropped from an unknown height and lands on the ground which takes him 0.734seconds to cover that distance we can calculate the height..

s = 1/2 x a x t^2
s = 1/2 x 1.62 x 0.734^2
s = 0.436m



does this height he jumped look like its between 40cm - 45cm?? or under half a metre??

but you denied that the 1x speed jump of john young was at 1.62m/s^2 didnt you?? so is john young falling faster than lunar gravity or slower than lunar gravity at 1x speed?

because maths is proving that he is falling at 1.62m/s^2

You aren't addressing the two jumps here. Or the analogy with Ball A and Ball B.

In the frame where Young begins his jump, the Mythbusters guy has jumped at least 3/4 to his apex. But for argument's sake, let's say it is exactly 3/4 to his apex

And, even though Young appears to land first, let's say, for argument's sake again, that they land at the exact same time.

And let's say Young's apex is only 3/4 of Mythbusters apex. That is the where Mythbusters guy has reached when Young starts his jump.


If we assume Mythbusters apex is 4 ft. high, then we also assume Young's apex is 3 ft. high.

Both jumps are done within the same gravity, of course.

What do you think will happen?

from what i can see after calculating the mythbusters jump.. the ropes have lengthened the mythbusters jump a fair bit..

i got a total airtime of 0.934 seconds for the mythbusters..

which gives them falling from their apex in 0.467 seconds.. if there were no ropes a fall of 0.467 will equate to a height of 1.07m.. the mythbusters did not jump 1.07m at most they jump maybe 50cm..

its difficult to compare john youngs jump at 2.46x and the mythbusters at 1x speeds since the ropes in the mythbusters skews their airtime..

thats what you are seeing, originally i thought the height was why it was skewed but its not, its the ropes on the mythbusters skewing their jump up.

so now that we have come full circle again.. if they were able to get john youngs jump to be the perfect height and perfect time, how did they do the same for the dust??

All television is travesty. As for Mythbusters, I have never seen the program in question. You need to stop watching TV and get out in the world. This will allow you to evaluate evidence realistically.

DJW, you're getting sloppy. How is it possible for you to participate in this thread, reading the lengthy exchanges between Turbo and choos, et al, regarding the Mythbusters Moon Hoax Episode #104... and you still say you have never seen episode #104??? Why are you even commenting on it?

Classic . You say it's garbage network TV shilling and then you complain that other people haven't watched it!

I've never seen the show in question either but I know for a fact that the Apollo missions weren't a hoax because of the simply overwhelming amount of evidence, of all forms - video, photography telemetry, hundreds of pound of rocks, physical evidence of the spacecraft. All consistent, all backing up the truth of what happened.

If Mythbusters is such garbage then why waste your time with it. How about tackling all those thousands of photos, all those hundreds of hours of video footage, all that telemetry, all those moon rocks, one by one and show us how they are all faked, every single one?

The Apollo hoax delusion is like a religion - it attracts people who have no critical thinking and instead believe what some charlatan "preacher" tells them. Then they see everything through the eyes of a believer and ignore or twist the evidence of the real world so it fits their religious belief.

Im sure that many people who have been fervently defending, on this site,
the authenticity of the moon landing claims by the US, are not even sure if
they really believe it anymore themselves. I think they are now defending
it out of pride, or maybe just habit.

The videos are not working (at least not for me), so I can't address them.

However, in general, I have yet to see a convincing video made by a Moon hoax proponent. The "evidence" presented in the videos I have seen hold not water because they are usually made from ignorance of the subject matter (i.e., they are debunkable using real facts, real knowledge, and a real understanding of science, nature, photography, engineering, and/or technology -- and usually easily so).

However, I don't want to dismiss the evidence in your videos without seeing them, so please fix the links.
