So far, bombs and meth lab have been ruled out. There were no reports of hearing any aircraft, no fireballs, craters so all the other fantastical ATS claims are out too.

A few posts back you state how gas is not ruled out, yet you listen to the same sources saying bombs and meth labs being ruled out and those are all of the sudden viable to you? I agree I don't believe it was a meth lab or a bomb, but I find it interesting how you tend to pick and choose what you listen to or acknowledge. Interesting, very interesting.

I agree that there would be a crater, and in the pics I posted its clear there's no crater, but when I was driving to the neighborhood I just cant shake that feeling for some reason..

Something was being stored in that house, ammo/explosives...maybe a small fire triggered it off

Google street view (2007) shows open box truck from lumber company dropping off something other than lumber...

Nobody was in the house that exploded, wife was in ohio, husband was elsewhere...

On the scanner last night i was said that the basement of the home was flooded..here's a theory>.failed sump pump, floods basement, pilot goes out on h20 heater and gas dryer flips over breaking the aluminum gas supply line, water continues to flood basement while gas continues to leak, water then reaches Fuse box, then BOOM!...this exact scenario happened in my home here in Indy minus the explosion because gas was shutoff..

Anyway to get a picture to post it? Now that seems interesting. Wonder what it was dropping off.

You may have math (took your time googling by the way
) but what about logic ? gas fires cause raging fires , leave scortch marks around the explosion , and burn wood . A lot of unburnt wood in those photos friend.

I think the shock wave of the initial explosion would account for that, it's not neccessarily just an incendiary fireball, it's a massive concussion wave, then a fire.

And what do people mean when they say natural gas - they're tallking about commercially supplied gas right, not just random gas pockets in the ground?

I think it should also be noted, to those of you that want to see a crater, that the LACK of a crater is your crater. The home has a basement. It's now full of itself.

Cool thanks. I didn't see this in the thread before. It is possible that they were just protecting people in shock from being asked a lot of questions from the media for the time being, until they'd gotten settled down and dealt emotionally with their situation. Or maybe they wanted to keep a lid on things until they had ruled out any kind of attack scenario. Though I think in the second case it's wrong to restrict information, but maybe that's policy if an attack is suspected? What's the situation now though, are witnessess being interviewed and coming forward?

Both of those scenarios are very possible, protecting the people or protecting themselves. Either would make sense! I could also be policy or protocol in that situation, if we knew what 'that' situation really was!
I have been keeping up with the local WTHR news page, I have heard absolutely nothing from the evacuees, just from locals around the area. However a few hours ago it was stated that the evacuees didn't need any more donations and to stop attempting to deliver any. All very weird if you ask me! I wonder when or even if they get to go home? And if they do when we will finally hear about it? I'll keep following to attempt and find out.

It's not a half million dollar home, it's valued at like $150,000 iirc

It is also made of wood, wood frames, stumps, floor, walls, everything.

The reality is that you could in fact fart really hard and probably do the same damage.

Well almost the same

Heck, if there that cheap then I need to move and sell my house. For the same price, I don't even get a 2 two layered home.

Now I'm jealous.

Natural gas explosion seems most likely given the events that took place, and the aftermath.

Ok cool, that's what i heard earlier, but it wasn't confirmed yet...

Indianapolis resident here.
#'s really strange. I'm watching the news and they announced that a 10:00 PM curfew is being enforced in the area and that there will be "a strong police presence throughout the night."

They then cut to the spokesperson from Citizens Energy company who said that they have tested the area and detected no natural gas leaks.

I find that VERY strange... If they're calling for a curfew they should probably inform you to why that curfew is being enforced... If they believe something radioactive or chemical like has the risk of affecting the given area they should give residents the chance to GET OUT OF TOWN...

I'm in south chicago, so im sure the area isnt anywhere close to me, but I can get to Indiana within 10 minutes off rt 80

I posted a source a few pages back stating bombs and meth labs are ruled out. No where does it say a gas explosion was ruled out, simply that it was not smelt before the blast. This how ever does not mean gas is not the culprit. A whole lot of gas leaks go unnoticed until after the blast. You're quick to try and pick me apart, I went with what makes the most sense. Broke it down, but that's fine it is ATS we are entitled to our opinions how ever I see nothing to suggest otherwise.

All these meteor, aircraft, satellite and missile claims fall short with out a crater. They would case an impact crater/scar and anyone who can take sheer mass of an aircraft into account would realize this.

A satellites sheer speed alone at time of impact would make a crater, a meteor the size of a basketball would leave a 45 deep, 43 foot around hole. I posted information and photos of this earlier. A satellite and meteor both would have had sightings of a very bright fireball before the impact, none so far.. a Missile would have an impact mark as well, or are Americans unaware of how these weapons work?

I thought in the before photos posted the houses were made out of bricks?

Edit; Just went back and looked, they were made from both, wood and brick.

If 81 homes were damaged and empty wouldn't it make sense that any remaining possessions would be protected from theft?

There are many users claiming this was a wealthy neighbourhood, I'd like to think what's left in my home would be protected from looting while I was away.

You can't be certain that it's not lumber...
You obviously have never seen the way that wood is packaged. What are you expecting to see in that picture? Raw wood in the form of tree trunks?

Adding unintelligent bat- isht ideas like this are what make conspiracy theorists sound like complete idiots.

Yes, it's gas supplied to the homes through piping not random pockets.

Didn 't see that photo, if that is the case, then I doubt you could get a brick house for $150K.

Looked like wood to me.
