that FAT tub of s**t would finally loose some weight given a $2 a day stipen. A whole tribe of Africans could be fed for a month if she was "stuck" on a spit and roasted. I'm not condoning canabalism, just saying. After seeing and reading this, I'm grateful for my soul I was crippled. This insights so much rage in me, if not crippled I would become a serial killer of the rich. Fat pig, I hope she dies the slowest most painful death in human history

Ironic coming from a woman who inherited all her money.

She has been saying a lot recently it seems. I keep seeing her name associated with some very inane statements. I am sure she looks at the economy from her position in the capitalist class and actually thinks that paying workers $2 a day will do a lot of good for the economy. She sees the world very differently compared to the common person.
It is clear this women is a major danger to the working class. She owns the means of production and sees the worker as nothing more than a commodity and a liability. This is the kind of people who control the means of production. Why we keep letting these people stay in control is beyond me.

Who do the renegades work for? World Bank and the Elite Corporations. We can't stop trade, for I personally really like coconuts and imported fruits, and we truly benefit from an open world.

I want to actually have a completely different world than this, like so: The Venus Project. Proportional Democracy like Norway not Australia, not transferable vote, that limits parties, doesnt increase them. You want more grass roots parties and large portions of well educated citizens as watchdog counsels able to play hardball and fire all corrupt elements including judges.

I want to live in a world not of bartering and trade, for that is the same system we already have, and would be run by the same people. But a world where high technology, clean technology, the world cleaned up, sickness nearly eliminated, small farms and eco farms and green green cities, where water is recycled, where all countries are equal, free and open to each other, where water is piped in, where all people are deemed equally co-owners of the planet and resources, where its not the healthiest young buck who gets the most, or the one who is born into good families, all are equal, even the shut in disabled, even the one taking time out with kids and even the retired. ALL EQUAL. NO MONEY.

Technology freeing all humans, so we don't abuse the world and nature, we don't overmine the resources, we have abundant educations systems, and can retrain all our lives, and children from middle school on are volunteering and trying out ample careers and hobbies, without competition so they can sign up, even if they're the shy, or unattractive awkward one with a heart of gold. Part time shared work for most and much time with family at Designing, Creative Pursuits, Art, Writing, Counseling, Teaching, Inventing, Architecture, Computers, or Advanced Computer Type Systems, Holography, Medical, Sciences, Advanced Farming, and Many many other things.

Take out the technology and clean the oceans and heal the people, and have instant transportation systems or very fast, like they do. Your kids can go to school anywhere in the world and return for the day.

I could go for a stroll in a park in Italy right now.

Visit friends overseas for the weekend.

A world of happiness and abundance and equalty and freedom has always been possible, though the technology is only coming out now.

I don't want less trade though, we want a global planet, regions still exist but people can live where they wish to.

I'd be in South Of Fance and Italy, developing art and creator designer yarns, lol, or counseling and art, with spinning/weaving as a hobby.

We have to work for equality and abundance. If I won a lottery, I'd create several eco farms here in Canada, and set up the million pound of food and 10 000 fish, over and over again, and create buisnesses that would provide profit sharing amongst the employees, who would be working part time with less costs on the eco farms and the profits above and beyond this and saving for future developments, would go into providing food donations to the region and adopting families locally. In addition another slice would go to buying land in third world and exporting the same thing there, as here, and homes for street children, like half way hosues with fair trade businesses there to again, pass the buck and have it grow and replicate.

But the renegades running things would start to kill off those shining the light there, Id be very afraid of that and so its also a huge political change we need as well, far better policies and international laws.

Also I'd create alternative media, and many small businesses with job sharing.

$1.5 billion worth is not even close to being the worldest richest woman.

Try the rockefellers and rothschilds who are in the trillions!

Slavery is a universal concept reserved for those unwilling or uncapable of defending their own rights. There are so many examples I honestly cannot be bothered to list them all.

Thanks for reminding us the value of socialism!

Henry Ford was paying 2.5 times that amount to his lowest paid workers in 1914. One of the greatest problems we have today is there isn't many capitalists like him around anymore.

There is one rule for industrialists and that is: Make the best quality of goods possible at the lowest cost possible, paying the highest wages possible.

Those who get payed only 2 Dollars a day, can only spend 2 Dollars a day. In the end it becomes circular, the money you dont pay workers today, is the money people tomorrow do not have to spend on your buisness, so we are all sitting in the same boat.

Except for the fact of course, that keeping wages low stems inflation and protects the money of those ALREADY RICH .

HOWEVER this systems can be levelled out by a perverse system of subsidiaries and bailouts. People get little pay, so the billions a few have is worth a lot, to compensate for the lack of spending power, a select few companies and individuals get bailouts and whatnot. Free money for the select few basically.

Luckily not too many Africans find their way into Australian mines. However in manufacturing, 2 Dollars a day or up there is already a reality. Its good for you, if you invested in Apple or any of the myriad of companies that profit from cheap cheap labour.

Ah good all global economics, and the elite money making and marketing machine. One day Australians will wake up and find out that they sold all there resources to places such as China, and they will be left to twiddle there thumbs in the bush, while the sun setts and the deserts grow, and others profit from it. On a global scale things do not progress so much as they are displaced over time, such as the possibility of the Australian mining business being displaced by workers from Africa who have no choice but to work for 2$ an hour.

In the long run and by then there populations will have been displaced by others who will be willing to work for 2$ dollars an hour, and the funny thing is that most of the stuff that is made from everything that is taken out of the ground in Australia will one day end up in huge landfills....And were running out of places were we can putt all the junk we make.
And Australia will be like WTF!

And no it does not take any business skills to know that China is a fast growing and fast consuming society, Australia has what it wants plenty of resources to run its infrastructure, and its growing appetites its pretty much the same model they use in Africa, and you can see how well that worked for the Africans. You put one and one together and eventually that makes two.

It really is that simple supply and demand, and when the demand is high the $$$$ will roll in by the truck loads. All you really have to do, is be in the right place at the right time. And the natural resource business/mining has its ups and downs, but when things are booming like they are today and have been, its practically impossible for the $$ to not roll in. Really pretty much anybody else in her position will have done the same or better, in fact I am sure Chinese pressure has more to do with things then any of the business acumen of people like her.

Its called the mining boom! for a reason. But one day that to will end, nothing lasts forever, in fact you can calculate how long it will last. And then? Who knows! Big mystery!
But I take it they may call it a recession or a depression when the supply ends or the demand moves to greener more profitable pastures, or more likely, when it brings in that greener more profitable pasture to replace the less profitable one. But in the end when everything has run its course, and long before then. I am pretty sure everybody and especially people like her will jump ship, that ship being Australia. Its called smart business strategy.

Interesting we shall see were this whole thing eventually leads in the years to come.

Capitalism always results in slavery eventually cause the politicians get bought-out like a basketball ref, the people get desperate and a socialist revolution starts.

Why are most of the taxes levied on the middle class for example during an austerity crisis? I bet switzerland has loads of annonymous bank accounts with billions and trillions stacked in each. How can someone tax that?

Or the people living in monte carlo. Haha. Go back to sleep society! Be a good little slave.

I have taken so much abuse from the right wingers on this site over the years, ONLY GOD knows why I am still here. Most of the truthseekers have gone underground or killed themselves!

How is it that parasites are vital to all living things, including economies? A parasitic relationship is a "type of non mutual relationship between organisms of different species where one organism, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host." Parasite harm, and only harm.

can anyone give me the source where Gina Rinehart actually states that Australian workers are to be paid $2 dollars a day???

her latest speech mentions world competitors mainly 'AFRICA ' who work for $2 a day adding that Australia can't compete due to high wages, carbon tax, fuel costs and other crippling taxes that many business people find themselves paying..

did i miss something??

plz don't quote the daily mirror as a source ..after its former owner robbed thousands of OAP's out of there pensions

Oh, well coconuts..yes, well I can see why you oppose the ending of child labor and tyrrany, you want your coconuts 10 cents cheaper than our coconuts. gotcha.

The rest is a daydream...you, whom I do believe is an idealist, can't even do a simple step to stop the insanity such as go without bananas that were picked by slaves for your pleasure because..it would be inconvenient.

So, keep daydreaming I guess..the status quo will remain so long as people demand to not sacrifice...at least your dreaming of the day when the slaves will be free..surely that is worth something.

Redistribution of funds does not work if people can employ a complex web of nontraceable transactions.

Ah but that's just the thing. Most new and up in coming things do not so much free you as they displace you, it is the way of the world and the law of the universe even. It's been the same with technology, especially under this current model, that is. Technology has not made humans work less or have any more freedom and time, it has made them absolute in those fields were it was introduced, and really the whole assembly line thing and factory thing can be replaced by machines, there by putting almost everybody out of work.

So in theory and on paper it works well, but in reality technology is just as likely to displace as it is to actually help people. The day they come with a machine or robot that can do anything a human can do and better, isn't the day that humans will be free. It's the day that they will be replaced by it, and they will have made themselves obsolete. It will displace them. It really is not different then what the OP was talking about with shipping in workers who will work for 2$$ an hour instead of the 20$ or more an hour, it is the same principle involved. What they are doing is displacing one for another that is more profitable. Again the rule of this universe is displacement.

Just look at all of history, you will see. Even look at your ancestors, homo sapiens. What has there introduction into the world done? Why do you think there is no other different branch of human species walking around today? Answer is. They have all been displaced....So ya! its a double edged sword, making this world more technological superior is more likely to make humans obsolete just as much as its likely to help them. Right now you can really see that as most of it is based on humans needs and wants, but when it moves beyond that....Then they would have made themselves obsolete.

Its a bit off topic, but carry on people arguing about idiotic things. Really I do not get why humans just don't get rid of this person and just install another one in her place...Problem solved, at least for a while, because power corrupts so its all just a matter of time before the new boss becomes like the old boss, and that to is another law of this universe, and its got its reasons why it is like that. But like I said, whats the big deal, get rid of her, or replace her, displace her, and it will solve a lot of problems, and more importantly there will be less talking about meaningless stuff.

Did you read my post, there would be no slaves in my world buddy. No money, just complete equality, freedom and sharing, high tech advanced level 1, to 2, and ever onwards, universal civilization.

I want my coconuts in a free world, and in a world where science serves humanity equally and GMO isn't about diminishing nutrition but in allowing coconuts to grow from vines like they have apples or pears, can't remember which, in the Okanagan do, (and I wasn't sure if it was a growing trend or a agricultural study that was going on, but there were some very interesting farms on the way to Naramata) and where all 7 billion people are free from theocracies, corruption, and slave labor.

The only thing preventing that is: Greed, Programming in Violent Religions that want Empires, and Slave Mentalities.

I don't value the workaholic and think he deserves the most, I value women and children and families and creativity and family time, world wide

I see the work aholic as part of the problem when he should be ensuring equality and spending more free time, helping others, or developing or filling his soul with art and nature rather than selling his soul out to the corporations and then patting himself on the back while the world starves.

I really do not understand that statement. Not an astute buisnessman or understand economics myself ,but there are few issues that even i can see right away.

Australian level of life and African level of life are different, and it works both ways. African miner can exist on 2$ a day (though it is probably a grim existance) because life is cheaper there. Food cheaper ,housing cheaper.
How can Australian survive on this sum? He will starve in couple of weeks if he will not die on street due to not being able to pay for shelter.
This is obvious , one does not have to really think it through to see this.
But look wider - there are clearly not only miner in Australia ,there are people who sell products or services to Australian miners. There are beurocrats and politicians who live on taxes from Australian miners.
So it is obviously not a serious suggestion.
I think she pushes for bringing cheaper foreign workforce instead of Australian one, to maximise her profits.

Obviously, and not to make some changes so that disclosure occurs, the clean tech can come out, and people can shift into working at more creative jobs, or offering more Australian solutions even in this current world.

We already have Mexicans carted into do farm labor. I remember a case here where they didn't even have bathroom facilities and there was a court case over this abuse of slave labor, then they were stranded, and it turned out to be very unfair to the Mexicans. What a joke of a system that is.

No, plug the loop holes so its not profitable to do business by exploiting third world and work for a truly better world.

I read it. its a awesome dream, and one about 1000 years too soon to have (give or take). Personally my vision of perfection is the day when we can go completely digital and live on the internet, creating entire universes if we choose, or materializing into the real world for whatever tasks we need using nano-clouds.

my dream is also just a dream when we consider what is happening today and what will happen tomorrow.

If you spend your time discussing the future, your no good in discussing the present. presently we have warlords and dictators that profit off of slaves..because its possible for them to profit off of slaves..because that is how the world economics currently work. there are 200 steps before your dream is realized...step 1 will be adjusting the trade laws to no longer make slave labor a beneficial model for our economy.

You cannot go from medieval knight to jet fighter in one step..its a process...and if you cannot consider the steps needed, then your dream is just that...a dream, not a goal.

So very nice futureworld vision..and it will be impossible to achieve if you refuse to see what step needs to come first.

If we're going to have free trade there must be a universal minimum wage, it's really that simple. Now that would be something the oh sooo wonderful UN could be working on. Nope thier too busy managing thier "war machine", and worring about internet restrictions......

Most elite families made thier fortunes by breaking the rules, and circumventing the laws...and now that people are calling them out, and demanding some accountability they are busy passing "laws" to envoke "martial law" if the mass's try and demand any justice.

For now they are content to steal every last penny they can, while keeping people hopelessly exhausted, steeped in debt and in fear of losing what little they still have left, confused and overwelmed by lies and laws they can't comprehend without a law degree...written and payed for by the very wealthy they are meant to protect by any unethical means neccesary.

Say what you will about Gadaffi, but his people had cheap energy, affordable housing, he shared the wealth of the countries resources with his people, he wanted to implement a gold standard and they had a "peoples congress" that could challenge all thier laws...and basically he was murdered for this....Lybia is now in ruins being ruled by Al Quada...which is really the UN, and we all know who rules them.

They get away with this under THREAT of death or ruin if you challenge them, and listening to this horrid "privledged" woman whine that billions isn't enough for her is disgusting.
