I hate judgemental scum bags. I mean, don't they have anything constructive to do instead of running their mouths in a rant forum about people they don't even know? Wasting their lives.

Must be so weak minded to feel you need to attempt to justify your opinions.

Some people that take drugs (a drug addict in your book) lead better and more productive lives than what you do.

They can be professionals in all vocations, even politicians and probably your own mother.

i have had a bit of experience with both sides of what you are talking about and I do not like someone judging me because of something they know nothing about. You don't know what i have been through and why I have done those things. It's not because I am a scumbag by the way. The scumbags are the people who would rather profit of someone elses addiction. They are the ones who do not care.

I had a wild relationship and when things seemed hopeless, I turned to an addiction that has helped me continue on today and it was not prescribed by any doctor. I had no intention of hurting, robbing anyone so for you to have your opinion about an entire catergory of people, drug addicts and alcohlics is nothing more than bull#.

Only a small minded person would label every single one a scumbag. The issues you speak about run rampant from the lower class all the way up to the richest of people. You going to call them scumbags also, even though they have most likely achieved much more than you will in your entire life.

I think that most addicts are deeply broken emotionally and spiritually. I think that they are trying to escape feelings and situations that they can't deal with in their minds...so they medicate themselves with the drugs.

I also think that the majority of addicts want to stop and recover but they are in the bad habit of being an addict; it is a quick temporary fix for their deep internal pain. I also think that they feel a deep loneliness and they don't feel loved.

I think too that they need a lot of compassion, understanding and help; they have to want to recover though.

A toddler died from a methadone overdose after his parents fed him the heroin substitute to help make him sleep, a court was told yesterday.
Mitchell Bate was just 22-months-old when paramedics found him lying unconscious and without a pulse on the floor of the family home last September.
A post-mortem examination carried out just hours later found he had swallowed enough methadone to prove fatal even for an adult user.
He had regularly been given the drug by his mother and father in the five months before his death in the hope that it would help him sleep through the night, Teesside Crown Court was told.
Traces of heroin and coc aine were also found in his body.
His parents, Mark Bate, 34, and Gemma Fennelly, 24, were both heroin addicts and had been prescribed the substitute last February to reduce their dependency.
But instead of keeping it locked away from their young son they deliberately fed it to him until his fatal overdose, the jury was told.
Andrew Robertson QC, prosecuting, said: "Although it is impossible to be absolutely accurate about the size of the doses over that period, we are talking about proper measurable quantities of the drug."
"You may ask yourself, why should they do such a thing?"
"The answer maybe simple. Methadone is a soporific. It makes you drowsy and may help a child to sleep through - giving the parents a quiet night."

I feel sorry for the parents for having come to such a terrible point in their lives and hope that something in society changes to enable them to get the proper help they need, without having to face ridicule and laughter from the likes of the OP.

Yes, it is a terrible tragedy that a child died, and the circumstances were not pleasant whatsoever, but I see the whole picture, not just cherrypicked snippets that suit my argument.

You do realise that people who do not use drugs and alcohol do worse things than that? Where I am in Australia, only last week a mother and her boyfriend who was not the father of the child were charged for beating their child to death. They blamed it on a dog attack down the street.

From what i can gather, those people were normal people like you. Do you support normal people? In the link there are multiple reports of how those normal people tried to lie and this happened four years ago.

Now I understand that those people do not represent everyone in society and it is the same as your opinion about drug addicts and alcoholics. The bad ones do not represent the lot of them. There are bad eggs in every group of people.
