Let your original post on the matter serve as record-keep that proves I am not skewing your words.I would like to thank you for your pain-staking effort in investigating other posts and threads of mine. I am glad someone took the time and effort. Skepticism is a very useful tool and I wouldn’t discourage people from using it.

I used the word archetypical. Please note that archetypical does not mean the same thing as typical or atypical. An archetype means that is has a precedent. It has an archaic, and very old form. A dictionary search wouldn’t hurt either.

The first description as found on smyleegrl’s thread refers to The Hooded Entity (at least this is the case in my mind. She didn’t actually say it was hooded or robed. She was thinking one thing, and I, another.)

This is because I am no longer referring to the Hooded Entity, but the Gray Man. I am sorry for the confusion. I simply did not state who and what I was talking about. Many of Smyleegrl’s descriptions were similar. I should have mentioned the part of the robe too. But you are correct. In the matter of being casual, I failed to make a distinction of exactly what I was talking about before my thread here even existed. My answer is that I was talking about two different beings/entities in the quotes you have selected. No wonder the descriptions don't sound the same!

You will notice that my description of the Hooded Entity is strangely similar to Smyleegrl’s “Dinosaur man”. There are differences that I failed to cite at the time. You are correct.

Thank you for your time and energy and posting your concerns was much appreciated. But, I hardly think your selected quotes point out inconsistencies which prove that I am lying. They simply prove that I was posting at different times using different words here and there. Thanks though and your doubts are indeed well-founded. This is what ATS needs.

However, it is plain to see that I was always attempting to describe in previous posts pretty much what was described in the OP of this thread.

It would be interesting to see an artists rendering of your white boxy Michelin Man, to see if there are comparable sightings either in modern day or in ancient cultures.

In regards to your encounter I have some questions
1. In your opinion what do you believe they were? Aliens, Angels, Demons, Visions, Hallucinations?
2. What do you think is the significance of the Michelin Man?
3. In your research have you ever found anyone else to see something similar to this white boxy figure?
4. Can you put together a rough sketch for us?

Not that I believe or disbelieve any of this, I haven't really formulated an opinion on the Alien subject yet. However this Michelin Man figure has me interested since it was witnessed by both you and your mother. And since I have never heard such a description before so it seems to be a relatively unique abduction story. I'd recommend watching the Ancient Aliens documentary series to see if anything looks familiar.

I typed my OP in microsoft word before pasting it here. A double-dash..you just hit the dash key twice and continue typing. When you hit the space bar, the dash will become one, larger dash.

I used those a lot in poetry for some reason and use them as sort of a mid-sentence line break now. It's just to keep my sentences from being overthrown by commas.

Because it's not just sleep paralysis. I know that sleep paralysis is a great explanation for so many people for so many things. Indeed, many encounters are simply nothing more than sleep paralysis episodes. But it is not the final word on many experiences (especially when much of what I described didn't even happen in the paralysis state.)

I don't know how it got so many stars and flags I'm not being facetious. I expected a few replies, but not many.

Quite possibly because it is a major sociological event that people are experiencing and need to discuss.

I've done a lot of research on abduction cases and UFO sightings since 1982. I recall an abduction case where a man was being abducted numerous times. On one occasion he remembers the alien telling him he was going to give him a gift. He immediately started vomiting up a black substance. He couldn't understand the significance of what happened, until he realized later he was a heavy smoker and the black substance was tar that was accumulating in his lungs. He continued to smoke after the encounter, but he really felt that this alien cleared out his lungs.

Interesting that there was a link between the supposed abduction and the illness. This may shed some light on my case.

1) I do not think they are ET as many of us imagine. I believe they are some sort of spiritual creatures, angels and demons, possibly but I have no clue. I do not imagine anything that I've seen cruising around in a UFO traversing vast distances in the stars. It just doesn't seem to fit, in my opinion.

2) I believe it was just another being (like the Gray Man, perhaps) in disguise so as not to frighten me.

3) Thanks to this thread, another poster has come forward and admitted to seeing the Boxy Michelin Man while under the influence of a certain chemical. He seemed quite clueless as to what they were all about as well. In his account, they were playful and exhibited neutral tendencies. They appeared to joke with him at one moment, but be helpful the next. I will see if I still have his U2U in my inbox. If not, I'm sure he can be messaged and would be willing to share his account with you. Due to the mention of the chemical, it can not be posted on the thread, but only in U2U.

4) I can, but someone will have to teach me how to upload it. Does the photo have to be hosted by another website first?

Thanks for sharing your life story. Sounds like you had an interesting but tough life. I had a tough childhood too and it comforts me to know that others have also. Maybe yours was tougher..

ANyway, like they say, what doesn't kill you will make you stronger. It's interesting though how, a tough life leads to seeking out 'spirituality'. I sought it out in a similar way to you.

I had visitations too when I was a child (and into my adulthood), but they were not as explicit as yours. Maybe I am older than you (not sure) but my first experience was in the early seventies (1975?). I saw a small green orb floating around in the upper corner of my room, and it continued to float around where the ceiling met the wall. It was certainly real. Years later, in the middle of the night, there was a light so bright, immediately outside my window, that it lit up my entire room with the shadows of my window blinds (as if a spotlight was right outside my window). This light then began to go through different colors. (It happened a couple of times.) These experiences were years apart. Later after many years, imagining that they were just childhood dreams, I had a similar experience at age 16, only this time my younger cousin was staying with me and he saw the same exact thing while I was still asleep. He told me the same exact story in the morning at breakfast - in the middle of the night, a light so bright, immediately outside my window, lit up my entire room with the shadows of my window blinds (as if a spotlight was right outside my window), and this light then began to go through different colors. That is when it all came together that my childhood experiences were true, and the hairs on my arm were standing up. Later, I had a more explicit, undeniable experience in my late twenties. I won't get into that.

I guess it could have been anything but I suspect beings not of this Earth.

I think my notion of aliens were a lot different from your perception since you are a lot younger.

Let me explain.

When I was a kid having these experiences, the only movies and TV shows I saw about aliens is Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Trek and Buck Rodgers or something like that. Unlike the alien-fear-instilling propaganda that came later, aliens were portrayed in a good nature, or at least not - demonized and purely evil and malevolent. The aliens in Close Encounters were good natured. In Star Trek, they were humanized. They looked human, and some were good, and some were bad, but never purely malevolent; they had more human qualities.

I think this (more) fair portrayal of aliens at that time gave me a different view. I was never afraid because I never viewed them as malevolent. I always viewed myself like an animal that a scientist would tag to follow around for good portions of their life, to observe and learn from them.

I also had the notion that if a civilization can stay around long enough to travel outside of their galaxy or star system, then they must be matured enough to be somewhat rational and compassionate toward other beings.

I think it is mostly in recent times that aliens are portrayed in a purely malevolent image. I have heard, although I do not know if it is true, that there is ongoing propaganda to demonize aliens. In fact it seems the opposite is true - it is beings (some intelligence) on this Earth that are being malevolent towards some of the aliens visiting Earth; this is clear from the STS-48 (Space Shuttle) mission footage which shows a weapon being fired on the ET craft. While I cannot speculate the reasons for this, many believe there is a propaganda campaign to demonize aliens. So much to the point that they will hoax alien abductions and do really bad abusive things to their victims, and of course, make movies and TV series to demonize them - "Fire in the Sky" being one of them. Some say the campaign is due to powers on this Earth, which would like to have what looks like a conflict (or war) with extraterrestrial beings long after the Earth is united into one world government. This way they can maintain their power and keep profiting from war long after there are no more wars left to fight.

Yes, Travis Walton was always a bit upset that is true account was skewed for the sake of Hollywood horror scenes.

I appreciate your post. It does help bridge a generation gap here because I am mid-20's in age. I think we see what we expect to see sometimes. Our perception of reality is definitely very subjective. Does this make it less real?

Sigh. In order to try to understand what is around you.. You need to understand how you use the instruments ahem, senses in order to process the information. Here is the noodle cooker, what you sense is different then what I sense, my senses maybe more sensitive the 6th sense or the intuitive sense is what your doing your best to understand or learn or some how create that Eureka moment..

Religions have been founded due to questions and experiences like this. hell look at the Mormons, for example. Its no lie, their is something else out there MANY things out there that we do not understand, and this is one of them. Even if the stories you have told a 100 percent real, OR even induced from stress, loss of sleep, or just nightmares.

The Pyramids are one of the best examples of mystery.. Gravity is another, Electricity is another good one as well. Oh and Dark matter is the newest addition.

So many people jump onto Religion because it helps them process the information their senses pick up in the World that we do not understand, just to feel at ease, or worship the unknown with a face or GOD(S).
Oh and another, this is a real treat.. Not to mention we need our senses to explore this reality we live in, this Reality is not our technology... Its not our creation or science. Not at this present moment.. Yet without us, This reality would not really exist, now would it. Or I should say life. Without consciousness and awareness Reality is not important now is it? Its just... Earth would not serve much importance without life. Hope I helped.

A lot of your ideas while young remind me of my very young childhood moving into a new house with my parents. It wasn't just me that experienced things in that house but, others as well. One of the things was the closet door knob would turn and open by itself. I would be terrified but, at the same time become overwhelmed with being drowsy so I never saw the door open fully. After reading another story here I asked a few people and a huge amount of people can remember a terrifying closet experience either seeing the door open or being afraid of it as children.

There were a lot of events that happened in that house when I lived there and one day may tell that story on ATS and it wasn't only I that saw weird events. It was all of my immediate family, visiting cousins, friends, neighbors at one time or another saw something odd happen in our house. I have 20 years of stories relating to that house so it is too long for this.

Something there wanted to frighten people and it became so usual (not unusual) that we had started becoming annoyed with whatever toyed with us there where we would yell out, "Stop that!" I have had Christians, Pagans, other spiritual beliefs walk through that house and the stop in front of my bedroom in the hallway and explain the same things. The air is heavy, colder, it makes one drowsy, batteries will drain flat off any device left there. My dad hung a battery operated clock there and the batteries would drain every day until he moved it somewhere else. My parents had the house checked out for radon gas because they felt the same things there.

I never saw any direct looking creatures but, many times saw dark shadows move from different rooms and while watching tv everyone there felt something was watching you from the hallway behind your back. It was interesting to see everyone sitting on the sofa at different times look over their shoulder, adults, kids it did not matter they all felt something was staring at them from behind. This happened so often that we arranged the living room area differently where we faced the hallway. Nothing ever attacked anyone directly.

Here is my sketch. imageshack.us... It is eerie how close to seeing the actual thing it is..but that was easy because it was so simple to draw.

I know this looks absolutely bizarre..and you might even wonder if it's a joke on my part. This is exactly what I saw and how I saw it. It is pretty silly, but keep in mind that I had requested "Please stop what you're doing. You're scaring me."

And then this one comes along.

The series of dashes around its figure is to show that it was emanating light from itself in contrast to the darkness of the room.

By the way, the other post I mentioned is named FlySolo and messaged midway through page 13. I'm sure he wouldn't mind sending you a U2U of the description he sent me via U2U. This is the first time in 10 years that someone has ever corroborated my testimony with this figure. (My mom had seen it in meditation as well.)

I read your story and admit that I enjoyed it.
There are things that happen in our lives that are so profound and touch us so deeply, that nothing ever takes us away from the memories of the time. The love we have with our parent/s are one of those things.. especially a new-found closeness with a parent. This is why I was hurt and felt as though you pulled the wool over my eyes when you said;

None of those doctors had faith that I would make it. The attending doctor in the ER who discovered the tumors estimated that I literally had days, if not hours before my organs would shut down. I’ve had a few physicians look at my medical reports and records and just become dumbfounded that I am alive and in as good a shape as I am).
I felt abandoned by all my friends and my girlfriend—I had no support, understanding, or empathy from my family either. I never felt so alone and even let my depression lead me down the road to contemplated suicide.

I'm reading this in belief and sadness until a paragraph later when you state that;

This opened up our relationship in a new way. We had already developed a very strong bond during my cancer. She was the only one who cared for me during that time. She quit drinking and became the best mother I could have ever asked for. She was emotionally supportive every step of the way—went above and beyond the call of motherhood to see me through my cancer. Doctors had even attempted to prepare her for my eventual death because they could not stop internal bleeding or revive me on a few occasions. She even revealed to me that she once saw the “boxy Michelin Man” in a near-sleep state. This is how open and uncensored our discussions were growing.

Some people read these stories with hope and look to complete honesty, because it helps them in some way. When I see a huge discrepancy such as this one, it makes me question the significance of the story in it's entirety-even though I still think it was a good story. I now think it's a story.

There is another possibility besides either just being in a state of Sleep Paralysis and you are still dreaming or Alien Abduction...or the possibility you have a Medical Condition...you should get checked out...as Cancerous or not...forms of Tumors in certain locations of the body can stimulate a persons specific areas of the Brain that could be generating these sightings as well as feelings.

The OTHER possibility is a GHOST. Now I used to be a HUGE SKEPTIC as far as Ghosts were concerned....until I remodeled my current Home in the Western Mass.Countryside which was a Grande Old Building that I loved and renovated it to modern form. In my downstairs bathroom...I tore down a wall and increased it in size by 4 fold to be able to install a Jacuzzi as well as certain other aspects.

The wall torn down led to an Old Time Cold Storage room for Potato's, Cabbages, and other Fruits and Vegetables that people grew here over a Hundred Years ago. I had to build up the floor as this Cold Room was lower and back in those day's...people used these Cold Rooms to act as a place to Wake out Family members that had passed away. They did not have Funeral Homes back then and people did showings of the Body in their home.

Soon after the Bathroom expansion...My Girl and Myself started to experience some weird events. Things being Moved...Noises...Black Shadows...until...one day I saw a GHOST. I am NOT PRONE TO FEAR ANYTHING...it is the LIVING THAT ARE THE PROBLEM...but I cannot deny what I saw as well as what My Girl saw. We have laid down the ground rules and share our home with at least One Ghost. It tends to be playful and it causes no issues. We...My Girl and Myself are of having the ability to project STRONG MENTAL FORCE OF WILL. A GHOST...no matter good or bad as they were people and thus have the same issues but are in some state of limbo...has zero ability to harm A LIVING PERSONS FORCE OF WILL. Issues only arise when a person becomes fearful or confused thus allowing an entity DIRECT ACCESS TO THEIR MIND! You do NOT want this to happen and this is also why CHILDREN tend to see Ghosts more so than ADULTS as their minds are not fully developed and are easy to access.

If this is a possible explanation...try creating a wall of Force of Will and if it reacts...talk to it...acknowledge you know it exists. As may Ghosts will create issues until they are acknowledged...so just the act of talking to it may stop the issues...if it is malicious...remember...when you are asleep...you are easy to be accessed by an entity when you are not both Consciously and Subconsciously prepared for it. Try this and see if it helps!

i've posted here once before (thanks for the solid karma points while going through some new dimensions of experience in the spring, i like to keep an eye on whats going on here though i've found the content has strayed from my path and seems more terrestrial, ironically recently keeping up with the2012scenario.com... & have posted more helpful sites at skateoftheunion.com... to help you all get some other perspectives on what we are going through.

much is being revealed about all walks of life at this time, and as fascinating as it all is, i know my priority is to shed light and love and peace to those who are worried and fearful of the unknown. there are uncountable fascinating things to discover beyond this transition of existence, and in order to experience this fully we have to raise our vibrations from mindsets of fear and anger. when we settle for lower vibrational existence we don't get to see as far outside of this land of illusion we've been bound to so far! follow your gut in what you believe, live day to day, and do not worry about long term plans as so much is changing every day, and the more we live in the present the more able we are to ride the wave of new information and life all around us.

regardless of your experiences in the past, know that presently we are surrounded by friendly, non-hostile life that is of the Galatic Federation of Light and friends. it's essentially Star Trek's United Federation Of Planets, but cooler so even if we've had negative experiences in the past, they have no bearing on the present state of affairs. and fear of these friends/family not only is counterproductive, but also isolates you from any possibility of contact or bridging gaps. if the opportunity presents itself, give strangers a chance - terrestrial or otherwise. you may feel they are superior than yourself, but in fact we are incredibly significant and powerful beings, and we should all respect each other and understand that equality is key to success in moving toward the most exciting future. live with love. the more positive we can be and not get caught up in negativity the farther we will go!

after saying all that!

i had a "dream" as a child that stayed with me deeper than any dream i've ever had in my life. it involved seeing a small hooded figure in the street, a hoodie sorta, tiny guy (sorta like the masquerading tiny white (or black( figures in The Maxx, great comic!). he was moving along at a steady pace, and i followed him in to the woods. in the woods he led me to a glowing pyramid and i lost track of him the pyramid was emanating white light. not massive, but large enough to get inside, 10' tall perhaps. it was gorgeous! the dream changed scenes to a diner patio near a hill with a manhole cover. seeing a cross-section of the hill, i saw that the manhole cover led toward a machine which the dream told me powered how everything worked on the planet. it was like a massive swiss watch of a planet, and then i woke up not knowing what to think, as a young child, but forever remembering how intriguing it all was. the child's mind sees so much! before we learn to forget imagination is key, and creativity is our central role in the universe.

First of all, I would like to state I have been drinking heavily this evening, so please excuse me if I make absolutely no sense at all and if my comments seem off the cuff.

I would like to comment on this thread for one reason alone. I am bored and your story caught my attention.

I think you somewhat believe what you have told us. And as others have pointed out, there are many discrepancies in your recollection of past events (memory kinda works that way, so I don't think anyone should hold it against you). But...I think the crux of the matter is this....

Why in the hell would aliens only visit you when you were half awake. Seriously people. I know that my registry date shows that I am a short timer, but I have been reading this stuff for a LONG time. I can't take it anymore. I really am going to deny ignorance.

Just stop and think about it. Let's do a little role reversal. WE, as humans, have technology to travel light years beyond our home. Millions, no, trillions of dollars invested into training personnel, engineering the necessary equipment to make the journey, to find a life bearing planet. And what do we do? Stand by some dudes bed while he is sleeping. I can see the report now....

"Well, Frank, little Billy snores heavily. He may actually have sleep apnea."

Please...I know life is boring. But just face it anyways. Reality, it's what's real.

I appreciate you making yourself vulnerable, I really do. I have had sleep paralysis. Some really trippy sh*t. But I still have the where with all to know I was not fully conscious. I once woke and thought my wife was staring at me in the hallway, only to realize she was lying in bed next to me. I WAS ASLEEP. I have woke up answering phones that weren't there. I WAS ASLEEP.

Please, life is mysterious. It is that crap we take for granted that we should be paying closer attention to. The imagination is a wonderful thing, but you are still it's master.
