If anyone here was capable of thinking critically, they might ask themselves what Occupy would have to gain from burning American flags.

The answer is nothing. This was almost certainly done by people attempting to discredit Occupy in the minds of conservatives, who knew said conservatives would predictably begin foaming at the mouth at the sight of an American flag burning.

Before you accuse me of defending Occupy above all else, here, I'm not. I think the movement is largely dead at this point anyway. My only objection in this case, is conservative stupidity. I mean, come on, guys; are you really that gullible?

Stop being led by the nose, seabag.

What America all I see is the begining of a police state. The minute that officer walked down the line of kids holding hands. While pepper spraying them in the face I saw what is happening to "America" even if you had blinders on.If we treat our kids like that what do you think they are doing over seas?

The Tea Party's Protect their own. I believe those Tactics only work, when the known Idea of the Police, and Regular OWS Protesters, are NOT going to do anything . Arrest, is the worst thing that will happen. Tea Party members, with Guns is an X Factor.

What, specifically, did the 'tea party' (brought to you by FreedomWorks) accomplish with their protests?

i can answer this

they voted FOR the NDAA
thats what they achived

the burning of the right to a court trial

go tea party

My point exactly.

I think it's kind of funny. Almost everyday I see right here on ATS calls for a revolution. People saying it's about time. Enough is enough. When are we going to get a spine and say we aren't going to take it any longer?
Some people just can't fake it til they make it. They are pissed off at America. America just bailed out big banks and left individuals to flounder in poverty and want. People are disenchanted with America becoming an authoritarian oligarchy, spying on it's own people. China, Afghanistan and many other areas on the planet are booming thanks to us, while our own country goes down the tubes.

And don't worry about the flag burners, it seems the Army has a solution.
Army Manual Outlines Plan to Kill Rioters, Demonstrators in America

The flag is to rally around, inspire a nation and represents a sense of community none of us really share any longer. We are islands. We like it that way.

I am not saying it's right but I am saying you cannot judge an entire group or movement by the actions of a few of them. Just like people shouldn't judge the whole Tea Party by the disrespect many show the President himself.
Wonder what requires our full respect more, the Office of President of the USA or the Flag?
Interesting question. I am sure it is written down somewhere.

I don't support OWS... or at least what it has turned into. From what I've personally seen, it looks like a bunch of teenager and twenty-somethings going around burning things down (like the American flag, cars, etc.) and throwing bricks into windows... they're no better than the people in Los Angeles rioting after a basketball game. I'm convinced most of them are not really there because they understand how the government and economy works but because they saw the protests on youtube or on TV and thought it looked cool and wanted to join in.

A lot of them, when interviewed, repeat the same things over and over showing they've no original thoughts of their own.

Something that really pissed me off is when I saw some of them throw a brick (or something hard and heavy) into the front window of a small business, the poor woman came out screaming at them. It was a bunch of young males harassing what looked like a 40 year old woman who is trying to make a living with her small business. And supposedly OWS supports small businesses.

And anytime rioters... or protesters get out of hand... they say that they were infiltrated by some other group. Riiight. How convenient! How do you even say who is part of OWS and who is not?! Is there a membership card or something?

I just think OWS is a bunch of hooligans and am convinced that a lot of them feel like this is their actual occupation and are not even trying to look for work or interested in working.

And where did Occupy really get it's start? I'm very suspicious of this group. I don't think it's as kosher as a lot of the poor kids getting into it think it is.
