I live ( --- somewhere --- ) near IOWA an LAST NIGHT AT 1Opm I was looking out my window and saw a large diffused light right above me, travelling from North-West going to South-East, and it was headed right for a plane coming from East going West, probably originating from Chicago Ohare airport to Iowa. When it appeared a half inch from the plane's nose at your arm's length, it -vanished- .

I think if they have the tech to get here, they would also have the tech to be able to get back to where ever they came from.

Sounds like high speed Chinese lanterns to me. Maybe tied to some fishing line and carried between the jets. Lol. *end sarcasm.

I don't think that's it, considering none of our problems got solved, actually this sighting has created more problems. Because, well, we cant figure out what the op saw...lol.

I want to post this too, but I'm not sure if it's truly anomalous, tho it sure looked it.

The night before last night, (actually early morning) at 300am I suddenly got up from bed and needed to look out the window.
I immediately saw a white flash high up in the sky, then this flash did another location, then another location, about four times. But while....that was going on, this bright and not really fast (meteor comet bolide, whatever etc) travelled across the sky in a slight arc, between these flashings.
It was REALLY ODD.
Why was I apparently compelled to jump out of sleep and catch that? I don't know. I am on a 5th floor which is the building's top floor, and my apartment windows face South. I have a fairly panoramic view of the sky, though.

Same video as what? the op never showed any video. Also in the channel 4 video their are no square objects shown or mentioned, just the red orbs dropping something.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for all the responses.

My Mom didn't see anything else similar to those last night, although she did notice some more of the tiny lights moving along slowly and silently, but they don't look anything like what we had seen earlier in the evening.

I am going to sketch up the formation we saw and post it per Nef's suggestion. And I will report it to MUFON right now.

People asked about Earthquakes, there hasn't been anything recently, but Central Oklahoma has had EQ more often lately. I don't think its related. There was also the famous Joplin Tornado here last year.

As for what aliens or military would visit Missouri for, this area I grew up in is rich in mineral deposits. It is completely riddled with old mines. Lead, and Zinc are the two most common things mined here. It is also riddled with caves and underground caverns. The first ever UFO crash was reported here years before Roswell. There is also a huge thread about an underground cavernous system about 40 miles south of here that is supposedly inhabited by either military or aliens. JKrog08 has a big thread on an underground transit system, and the caves are mentioned in it also.

I'm going to do the MUFON and sketch up the drawing, I'll be back in a few.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but even if you own one of the first ever made camcorders with zero megapixel resolution, the "Alley Oop" model, discontinued by Canon the day it went into production, it will still be better than almost anything else if used with a "steady cam" support or a tripod.

Don't be cheapskates, you UFO mavens, buy a good "steady cam" camera mount. Prove the skeptics wrong.

Your report sounds intriguing, I would like to see more about it. I wonder if a good old fashioned big "flap wave" is underway. Just like I remember from the late 1970's and '60's.

You waited until now to contact MUFON? Why didn't you call them when you saw it? MUFON has contacts all over the map, anyway, and it is likely they saw the same thing. I am not chatising you, just curious: are you becoming jaded about sightings? I live in Columbia, Mo, and am also "used" to unexplained sightings in the sky.

Interesting , I may have missed it but could you give us the approximate time of your sighting as that report states their sighting at nearly midnight .... if they are connected maybe we could work out distance and possible speed of travel .... just a thought

To the "pics or it didn't happen" crowd:

That was funny for like five minutes in 2005 but time has moved on and the hilarity is so less juicy. Contrary to what some may believe, those of us who keep our eyes open for the unusual don't run around with a camera hanging from our necks. I don't own a video recorder, and I certainly don't have a smart phone. My phone is so dumb that if I tried to capture anything it would probably be about as clear as trying to capture footage with it shoved down the back of my pants. Sometimes it's better to just say nothing at all.

I don't see any footage or anything, without it, your post is not believable, OP. Pics/videos or it didn't happen...

Given that the report is from getreadyalready I am inclined to believe the information given , the only question in my mind is what was the source of the lights .
The only way we may find that information is to search for other reports and try to cross reference information on similar sightings on that night .... don't dismiss something just because you have no visual evidence .

This report is still fresh , more reports backing up the sighting may surface over the coming days ...Keep em peeled

How are you supposed to get a pic or video every time if a lot of sitings don't last long enough to have time to get a cam. People who see things know what they saw, pics or not, and nothing will change there minds. when a thread comes up with this much detail and effort put in to it, it is pretty hard to dismiss.

True. I had a sighting in northern Baltimore County. I was driving, did have my phone with me but I was on a two-lane road with no place to pull over - unless I wanted to trespass on someone's property and risk getting shot at. I contacting MUFON as soon as I finished drawing what I saw and writing it down.

That said, the people that are posting "I'm going to grab my binoculars and head out now. I'll post if I see something" really don't need to post unless they ACTUALLY SEE SOMETHING. These posts add nothing contribute nothing. Just clutter.

RT could care less about the pics, because most of the time they are blurred dots that everyone argues over anyhow.

And since this is a veteran ATS'er that everyone respects here on ATS, their word is good enough for me.
