That wont end anything, because of the ones that know what they saw and they weren't on drugs or alcohol. You may have less reports but its not an end all to it. Hell you would probably have some more steady videos to boot too, being sober and all.

Point well taken, I could not agree with you more, and whilst I am a skeptic, I try to be objective, trying to fish out the unusual from the mundane. This particular Op has a good reputation - so it's more that than the sheer number of posts that give the story credence.

In Memphis once, I was driving down Union Ave and saw two "fighter jets" flying side by side and ridiculously high-speeds, then all of a sudden, the 2 objects MERGED into one, whole, solid object. Not even joking. It was like 3 in the afternoon, traffic was pretty thick, and I don't even think one other person noticed it.

I never once thought it was military.. but also I'm not a moron.

Ok, now for more detail. I'm visiting family in Missouri, and Mom asked me to step outside and see a UFO. The sun set about an hour ago, and what she pointed out to me was a slow moving, bright star in the South. I figured it was probably a reflection off a satellite, and it disappeared after about 10 minutes. It was moving due East, but it was unremarkable. While watching it, with the binoculars, I happened to see some flashing FAA lights in the North East and when I zoomed in on them another set zoomed across the frame. It was a little frightening, so I stopped and looked with the naked eye, and there was a section of sky kind of ablaze with activity. Once I got some perspective on it, there were 3 sets of FAA lights that seemed to be jets, they went NNW, and then one circled back and headed out of sight in the opposite direction, while the two others took up positions flanking some large lights that were not flashing. Those lights seemed to turn WSW, and they were not flashing. When I zoomed in with 7x35 mm binoculars, there were 3 distinct crafts, they seemed almost like cubes with backlighting that was more prominent on the corners of the craft highlighting the cube shape.

The entire time there was an apparent roar, but it was deeper in tone than typical fighter jets or even commercial airliners. It seemed to be a very large type of engine, or something operating at very high power. Just as I ran in to post this, the were starting to near the Western Horizon, and the sound was at its loudest.

Boo. nobody is a moron. he saw what he saw and described it the best he could. what you saw and he saw are to completly different things. Basically your saying that because he didnt see "morphing planes" as you put it, that he didnt see UFOs, please give me a break. This thread is very useful btw. It has witnesses that saw the same thing over a large area. There is only one other person that i have seen on here that believes in the morphing plane theory, god what was her name, god i cant remember for life of me but im sure someone here knows exactly what im talking about. Maybe you should read the OP again. You are misunderstanding what he said. The object his mother pointed out to him is what he took to be a satellite. He spotted the objects under discussion just after that.

Well, I did have my phone, but it is a Droid I, and it doesn't show anything at night.

And the duration of the sighting was about three minutes.

Why do so many assume that everybody just has a cam wrapped around there neck. Sure a lot of people have them, just not on them at all times. most cell phones probably wouldn't have picked it up, as he clearly stated in the op or in another post.

Details are important and they are there, but most wont take the time to read the posts. Which is to bad because this is a great report and worth reading every bit of it.

Yeah, my phone can take pics and video but its old and the cam is broke. Even if it did work though i doubt it would pick up a light in the sky.

New motto for ATS should be: "Video/pic or it didnt happen"

Ive lived in Kansas City and The Ozarks my entire Life I learned at a young age to Expect Strange lights in the sky as many people from this region will tell you ...SOmething is up in the oZARKS!!!

A very detailed description.

I agree with all the phone cameras theses days, somebody else would have put up a video to YouTube. There are sky watchers who are always armed with cameras ready to go. According to its flight path in that detailed description, there would have been other sightings at that time of night. Not like it was 4 am
