(ATTN Oklahoma ATSers!) 3 UFO's 2 military escorts right now over SW MIssouri

Airplanes in the air exactly where they are supposed to be.

Im a little south of Tulsa. I will spend some time outside doing some sky watching. Will definitely report if I see anything.

Hope they were not running out of power... I would hate for the USAF to take them down.

If they were playing in OKC, it could have been a flyover, but they are still playing in Florida, so that wouldn't be it.

With the deep sound, I suppose they could have been something large like B2's with fighter escorts, but the lighting was not conventional if that is the case.

I think the sound was from the larger ones, not the escorts. I've heard a ton of fighter jets, and this didn't sound like a fighter jet, it sounded like a low flyover of a big military jet as it leaves the area and kicks it in the ass. But these were well in the distance, so they were either at max power, or they were just massive engines.

Someone must have seen them after you and your family. Where are they and where did they go down if they needed to? Keep checking youtube and maybe davenport may have something on this?

I just checked the Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs), and the only thing I see special for today is in Guam. Nothing in the midwest.

There have been a lot of sightings near Lee's Summit / Kansas City this month. Link

They describe a bright yellow light, which this would match that description, but they also mention a red halo following it. The things following these bright yellow lights were obviously jets with red FAA beacons and strobe lights. Don't know if they saw something similar to us or not.

I'm not seeing anything on Youtube yet, but I'll keep watching for anything to pop up.

If someone else want's to search, search any UFO sightings for tonight near Joplin, MO, Galena, KS, Riverton, KS, Miami, OK, Neosho, MO, Pryor, OK, Nevada, MO, Carthage, MO, Tulsa, OK. PIttsburgh, KS. Hopefully one of those names pops up. My Mom is searching facebook now, she has some people that snap pictures of everything and post it, so maybe someone else locally grabbed a pic.

To be fair, I own 2 cam corders. One is completely digital, but the other uses 8mm video tape. No tape, no video. I can take digital photos with it however.

And I know this may be harder to believe than any UFO story but: not everyone owns a cell phone, or a cell phone that takes pictures and video.

There are several jet ways that pass NE to SW over this area. It would not be unusual to see a regular jet flying this pattern, but it is rare to see them in formation, and it is rare to hear them so significantly, and it is very, very rare to see them without required FAA lights, and I've never seen them in formation where one breaks off and scoots out at top speed!

true, but any video you might have taken would have captured the audio at least. You did say that the rumbling sound was not usual to you, and while the rest of us hearing it may or may not prove anything, it still would have been good to have that audio captured.

True. I should have recorded it, the sound would have been useful. I was just thinking about how worthless the video would be, but I didn't think about the audio.

The sound was similar to a jet engine sound, but it didn't have that sharp pitch of a fighter jet, it had more of the commercial airliner rumble to it, but much more significant and bass-y.

I was in Pensacola for a Blue Angel's homecoming when a F117 did a flyover, and it really reminded me of how that jet sounded when it was going away from us and accelerating, but that jet was very low and near to us, these were much farther away. Of course, there were 5 or 6 of these, and there was only 1 that day, so maybe that is enough to make the difference?

I live in the Mid- Michigan area and I seen what I believed to be the reflection off a satellite at 10:00pm this evening. It was heading south west at a fast rate. It was bright solid white light. It was just as the OP described, other than there was no other seen objects around it as far as I could see anyways. This is not the first time I seen this. I seen the same object twice now. The first time it was heading west. I watched it for about 1 mins then it vanished on a clear night. Interesting thanks for posting.
