Nice give-an-goes with the d-men....now lets see some nice tight flight formations flying up-ice making short passes on their 3rd strides.....work them "slightly East/West...they are spread wide as part of their process....watch them try to hit your blueline with a guy on each board running laterally.

This is a PERFECT TEAM to push for offense on the PK....they are butter-soft and like to over-commit.Not exactly speedsters on their PP either.

Nice job of working K-Bomb into the o-zone playaction....perfect keep it up.

This Tender feels right....protect him and his crease with TRUCULENCE and be verbal about it.

Lets remember to drive every 5th possesion right to their net the hard way right at their Goalie....every team has to pressure Goalies.

Conner needs some KISS give and goes.....the more KISS the better.Tell Conner to be more selfish tonight....and to be more aggressive taking it to the net.He has to WANT to score MORE....he needs to KNOW HE CAN FORCE IT.

Pressure Dallas high on your blueline,drive them out of the zone when you hit them and look to run it back on them.

On the K-Bomb note.....he was past 3rd base and should have been DRIVING TO THE NET.

If you dont get a high % shot you need to BULLRUSH as you close to terminal distance from then net,bring it inside,its ok K-Bomb kept it outside there but we WANT THOSE PUCKS COMING RIGHT TO THE NET,quicker.

Benn was suppossed to be tagged center-body-mass every possesion....Gryba took a penalty playing him soft?

Listen fellas...the devil is in the details....have confidence in your System it looks good...but if you cant even get everyone to hit one single player center-body-mass for 60 minutes AS A TEAM how can you seriously expect to win at the NHL level.

I identified the 3 players you need to shut down....I told you how to do it.You arent doing it.

You are using the KISS give and goes now....very good and continue and be patient.

Try a few stretch passes,look for some highlight reel plays.

Push them when they set up on your blueline, and keep taking the shot away with good stickwork.

Focus on winning aggressive 1 on1 battles when you can get shot on net....close on their d-men more....surprise them....force them....get in their heads.....make them notice you challenging them with your skills.Once in a while just use short head-mans of the puck 10-15 feet ones which make the d-man have to decide wether to break off you and go get the puck....bait them by just saucering it barely out of both of your reaches....make em sweat by taking the puck right into them and making contact then recovering first to chase a puck 15 feet away not a full rink dump-in.

They isolate their blueline support when on offense in our zone.......challenge this man when there is so much seperation....he is a ripe one-on-one battle you can cash in on if you can push him out of the zone and carry past him to bust it open.

They like to use the periphery....if you want to WIN and PUSH THE RIVER....you need to target them here.Remove their ability to manage and execute their outside game.

Remember Benn.....the center-body-mass guy????

You have to own your blueline in todays NHL......you cannot let them inside so easy.

Watch out,when your forecheck is not aggressive they try to set up an upspeed man thru the n-zone and it is working fine for them.

If you wish to salvage this game go back to being aggressive like in the 1st period.....and DRIVE IT TO THEIR NET........Dallas has a BUTTER-SOFT set of fowards so PUSH THEM and drive pucks to the net,run them right in.

On this delayed penalty you played them nicely on your blueline...you closed on them and denied them management and setup time.

Nicely done....now EXPLODE THRU one of them when they are set up high like that....push them cener-body-mass OUT OF THE ZONE and try to stuff the pucks on them,aim for 10 feet behind them when you explode....plan to go through them and do so,commit 100% and its ok as long as you get them out of your zone and stay in front of them keeping them out of the playaction 1for1.They cheat and collapse everyone and isolate their d-men so NO ONE WILL BE CHASING YOU IF YOU DRIVE THEM OUT OF THE ZONE AND CAN SNEAK BY THEM.

Remember Nuges bank pass to himself off he boards ? Nice tactic to use on Dallases defense,even banking it to a teammate.Using the wall as a 7th man is good management,especially against a team which plays on the periphery one-on-one a lot trying to optimise their skill players.

Keep working the nice give and goes, watch your forcheck keep it urgent and dont let them set up the upspeed man like they want to do.

Keep taking away their sticks and filling the lanes like you are doing .Keep pressuring them on your blueline like you are.....and if you go for it COMMIT and remember the EXPLOSION into them - through them - pushing them out of the zone and playaction by focusing on center-body-mass and driving your legs HARD....pushing thru them.

Look for some BIG OPEN ICE HITS 20 feet into your zone where they all like to float around.....make it dangerous place to have your head down which is exactly what they are doing there.CLEAN HITS....but BOOMERS....this is the NHL and Benn is a big target in open ice who likes to watch his own sweet passes to much and likes to cloud-watch after he shoots the puck so FOLLW THROUGH HIM...dont lay hits ON HIM lay them THROUGH HIM.

Why no chatting on the bench...everyone is doing great tonight and NO ONE IS TALKING and pumping up the bench....Coaches? Anyone ? Just a LITTLE LIFE.

Keep things steady now but you need to begin ragging pucks around in the o-zone taking them to the net,making them grab on to you and take penalties.

You can out-muscle this butter-soft Dallas team now...just force the issue.....tell Pouliot to drive it to the net and bury it.

If this wasnt such a sensitive time I would say to run the Flying-V....but just stacking two men one 5 feet behind the other in a mini-V and having the 1st man with the puck PICK OUT THE DEFENDER AND LEAVE THE PUCK BEHIND THEM FOR HIS TRAILIER as they penetrate the zone.
