I am in no way/shape or form a racist, I have many friends of all ethnicities and I firmly believe people are people where ever you go, some are good some are bad.
But I am STRONGLY against Australias refugee policy.
I once believed in a totally open door policy (when I was 16) but had an encounter at a train station with an African man one day.
based on that encounter and a few other facts Ive learnt I am now against Australias immigration policies and I think a few things need to change
First off boat people, they are not genuine refugees, they are economic migrants and should be automatically sent back to where they came from as criminals. In my opinion it just shows a complete lack of respect and even contempt for our laws. If these people were genuinely worried about just getting out of where they came from they would stop in Indonesia or Malaysia which are cheaper countries to live in, have much laxer immigration laws and are safe.
As for genuine refugees who are fleeing certain death I do believe we should let some in but not without conditions, firstly they should be required to support themselves, if they have no skills there are more than enough farm labourers jobs available. Some people might say "but why should they be forced to work on farms?" no ones forcing them and Im sure if we asked at the refugee camps for volunteers to come to Oz and get paid to work on a farm we would have no shortage of takers. basically other than enough to get them set up the gov or should I say taxpayer should not be required to support them.
Secondly if they or their children commit a serious crime they should also be sent back, if they cant respect our laws and cant instill in their children our way of life then do we really want them there?

You're absolutely 'spot on' with what you said here IKS.
Unfortunately you're always going to get those 'bleeding hearts' who just can't get their heads far enough out of their holier-than-thou 'proverbials' to listen to any legitimate concerns, observations or viewpoints from those people who actually have to live with these types of growing social problems on a daily basis and experience them firsthand... rather than from for afar, safe and comfortably detached from behind their gated 'Stepford' community walls. Nobody can dare mention any developing trends or situations involving a particular immigrant ethnic group, without being immediately labeled 'Racist!!'... when in reality 'Realist' is by far the more appropriate tag.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to spot an obvious trend or up-tick in certain activity being undertaken by any particular group, if the incidents in question were either a rarity or totally nonexistent before their arrival in any particular area. Why is highlighting such an obvious increase in unsavory or anti-social behavior, when there's no question or debate whatsoever as to which group is responsible for these acts, have to be the rantings and ravings of card-carrying KKK'er and racist??
If it's happening in my neighborhood, if it's plainly obvious as to who's responsible, if it's placing me, my wife or my two young daughters at risk or in potential danger then 'Shove it up your s**tter bleeding heart... this group right here is the problem. Period!'. I don't give a tinkers toss-pot whether white, black, brown, yellow or otherwise, it makes absolutely no difference to me at all what colour their skin is.
I wonder if the few members here who've been so quick with their shock, their outrage, their taken offense, if they would've been so appalled at your lack of tolerance towards a particular ethnic group and culture, had the increasing rate of incidence the OP has clearly been experiencing recently been the work of a skinhead gang or bunch of white supremacists? These mindless pricks are just as much trouble when they move in next door and equally as problematic when they decide to set up shop in any given area en-masse

lol reported me for trolling? I wasn't even trolling. I could have easily reported you many times for spouting Jewish conspiracy theories. This forum does have a strict policy against racism, after all.
Nothing will happen to me. I was engaging in a genuine debate without resorting to insults. I did not break any rules. Your argument is still invalid, and will remain that way for some time I imagine.
Take note fellow posters. When this individual loses an argument they resort to reporting somebody for something they didn't even do. It's like being in kindergarten again.
By the way, if these "Jewish conspiracy" theories are valid and actually hold water like you claim they do, then how come I have never seen threads about them on ATS? Probably because they are at the very bottom of the barrel of conspiracy theories. Even lower than David Icke's rubbish.edit on 24-4-2012 by Xaphan because: (no reason given)

A thread regarding America and immigration would certainly not be as one-sided

considering their history the German people should not be allowed to have an opinion on anything regarding the world community, let alone immigration. How many countries have accepted German Immigrants despite the terror and suffering the Germans have inflicted upon the world?

Careful what you think here my friend. This kind of attitude can just as easily be held replacing German people with U.S. people. Just because some thugs take power and spread corruption and violence, does not make the people of that nation as a whole 'evil'. Keep in mind, MANY Germans during the era of the Nazi party were under the same terror as the rest of the world. In its prime, the Nazi party only received something like 18% or the vote - that's a lot of Germans against their policies.
Take care not to become that which you disagree with is all I'm saying
Peace.

Let me get this straight, you hate Australia and us as ctizens, yet you are using our education system to your advantage so you can move out of the country and make a living. If you hate us so much, you can go back to South Africa and stop screwing our system.

Bingo
Btw QQxxw sorry for going of at you earlier!
One thing i've learned in australia, is not trying to start a pity party, and this whole kumbya thing were everyone cares about each other, i try to distance my self from it now.
Anyways yes, australians are close minded conservatives if you're looking at it from a us perspective, or BNP voters if you're from the uk.
They're highly hypocritical, do as i say, not as i do kind of people.
Their outlook is that they and only they can be right, EVEN when they're wrong, it's annoying as hell.
Anti-social, high cost of living, isolated, this country is all hype, and the only people who would enjoy living here are complete air heads.

I stated in my op that i did not want this thread to degenerate into a war of the races, and here you are, an Australian citizen criticising Australia and it's people. This thread is not about Australian citizens, it is about the government and it's cover up of Sudanese immigration and their subsequent success in recieving houses and other luxuries.
Also, i just love how you generalise us all as air heads and hypocritical. Get a life.

I forgot, only you can be right correct?
I take it back, australians are the most caring stand up, greatest people on earth, better for you?
Im an australia citizen yes, why cant i critisize australia and its people if i am?
Do you want it to be a pro-australia party?
No other perspectives on life here other than the pro-australia, anti-immigration crowd?
It works both ways, get a life, and get a brain.

You have a go at members because of their links and sources (including me) about being old, yet yours is from 2009.

Yes, thats correct.
Im using the australian education because it's slightly over 4k a year to study at swinburne, and australia being a socialized system, uni is mostly 3 years, so i'll only end up spending a little over 12-13k on my studies, and then proceed to go overseas an earn a decent salary that will allow me to live a good life, without being highly in debt.
Nope im not going back to south africa, another english speaking country is where ill be going.
