You missed Seabag's point entirely. The point is why promote one thing then promote another thing which condemns it? The answer is unfortunately that Sharia Law undermines the Constitution and liberals don't care if their hypocrisy is showing under the dress.
How is allowing someone to follow their own way of life hypocritical?
Also, there's no promotion going on here. A straight person is not going to promote homosexuality. A christian will not promote islam. A republican will not promote democrat. An american will not promote sharia law. Why the hell would they? Promoting human rights is all I've ever seen from the left.
I have never seen a single liberal promoting sharia law. Sharia law is as conservative as you can get.
Also, if you have never seen a liberal promote Sharia Law then you were just looking the other way. Try Elena Kagan(she is liberal is she not?)

How do we know Sara Palin isn't plotting to reinstate slavery???edit on 8-4-2012 by braindeadconservatives because: (no reason given)
You have to be kidding? Really? Is that all you can come up with? Just calling me evil names is not enough to win this debate. You better be coming up with something more substantial, like why not wanting Sharia is being a Hitleresque keyboardist.
You give me one good point to back you up. Make it count or it's just more name calling.

LOL. I just visited this thread, posted my $.02, and then read the post above:

Which illustrates my point quite nicely.
Thank you and goodnight!

illogical nature of liberal thinking.
In December, 2006, Kagan hired Noah Feldman, architect of Iraq’s Constitution requiring Shariah, as a star faculty member at Harvard Law School. On March 16, 2008, Feldman published his controversial article “Why Sharia” in the New York Times Magazine, which promoted “Islamists” – the Muslim Brotherhood – as a progressive democratic party, and promoted Sharia as a model not just for Muslim-majority countries but for all:

illogical nature of liberal thinking.
Is there no illogical thinking from conservatives too? Religious, yet pro war, death penalty and intolerance for muslims, homosexuals and liberals? Is the Bootstrap mentality really logical? Is thinking all the parents having kids are gonna take care of them and make sure they keep their bootstraps up logical? Is thinking corporations alone will put people before profits, logical? Again it is these broad strokes assigned to a party that are inaccurate and do not represent all that think liberally.
Logic is not exclusive to one party or ideology, imo, and to sit here and say one is illogical is...well illogical. I am not attacking you ANM, just trying to see this thru to some middle ground somehow, and show that any accusation can go both ways. Guess that's the liberal in me.
Oh the futility of it all. I have said my piece, carry folks.

Here is MY brand of conservatism (and I suspect many others'):
Religious, yet ANTI war;
AGAINST the death penalty;
TOLERANT of muslims and homosexuals;
For:
SMALLER government;
LOWER taxes;
FEWER social programs that perpetuate poverty.
I'll leave out tolerance for liberals because frankly, y'all have been getting intolerable lately.

NICE!

No it does not. You being ignorant about what Sharia is does not make it any more scary to people that actually know what the # they are talking about. Your statement is not only not correct, it smells like you pulled it from the back of your pants.
According to the Iranian Student News Agency and the UK Independent, the three gay male victims of Sharia law men were put to death at the end of a rope Sunday morning at Karoun prison in the southwestern city of Ahvaz, Iran. Cleric Abdolhamid Amanat made the announcement.

During her confirmation hearing, she said that "there is no federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage.
Exactly. He's actually gotten answers that are more logical and well thought out than the questions even deserve, but he and others seem reluctant to put down that broad brush. This thread truly illustrates just how broken the idea of a two party system is, with a few reasonable people being drowned out by the histrionics of the two extremes. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, but at least this thread has made me feel intelligent, so reading it wasn't a total loss.

He got several logical answers, but the only ones anyone are discussing are the uneducated troll baiters.
No one in this thread is actually interested in furthering the discussion, only adding to the fury.

However, I'm confused on which liberals stated they want Sharia Law. Is there evidence that a vast majority of us liberals want such a thing? Please, enlighten us individuals of sanity.
