Actually, going to be honest here...I haven't researched it at all...barely skimmed it frankly..its a small town concern. and there will be a trial to see exactly what happened. I know the msm wants you to feel one way or another for ratings and stuff...but much like the Casey Anthony trial, people tend to convict or set free based on emotions over allowing the process to work and the court to sort out what happened and what crime was committed.

If I had to hazard a guess at this point, from the stuff I have accidently learned..it will be considered self defense..the proof favors Zimm at the moment (witness, evidence of a struggle, and I do believe there was 2 shots..so arguably one of em could have been a warning shot)..but zimmerman is not guilty...doesn't mean he is innocent of any wrongdoing...just my guess though, and I could be, and probably am, wrong here.

My participation in this thread is just out of the amusement that somehow hoodie = thug (I own 2 btw) and some racists are all but foaming at the mouth over...clothes style.

I tells ya, when them kids started wearing t-shirts instead of nice sweater-vests, they all turned into hoodlums!

Wether one sees the MSM for what it is, and the BS that comes with it for what it is, or not, the fact that there are alternative images of a person in the media means very little in reality. The only thing that ought to have a bearing on the outcome of the events in question, is the evidence. At present, there is no evidence that Trayvon posed a threat to the man who shot him. The fact is that despite what he may have appeared like, he was carrying no offensive weapon, and unless someone is prepared to show hard proof that the kid was behaving in a manner which implies lethal threat, there can be no reason for him to have recieved a gunshot wound.

I am a metal head. I usually look like I just walked out of a cross over comic book, involving a hybrid of the Mad Max, and Blade universes. Despite my hellion aspect, I am a good Christian fellow, who is always willing to help a person in distress, and am in fact a security hardware fitter by trade. People trust me with thier security and safety, because they know that despite my appearance, I am a decent guy. If it was justified to attack a person, merely because thier very presence or appearance makes people nervous, then I would be many times dead, and I certainly would not have a career in security.

The truth however, is that a person cannot justify using lethal force simply because a person makes them feel nervous, or suspicious. To justify such force, there has to be more to it than a merely disconcerting feeling surrounding a person. One would have to be under assault, or see clearly a weapon, before even thinking about discharging a firearm at a person, in order to avoid criminal proceedings. Again, there has never been any question of Trayvon having been armed. He wasnt. No weapon was recovered, no knife, no gun, no bat, no nothing, and yet the man who shot him, who was carrying a gun, who did pull the trigger, and has the residue of the gunshot that took Trayvons life upon his very hands, has not been subjected to the rigours of investigation. It is a bloody lunacy that a man can shoot a kid down in the street, and not be investigated as would be the norm.

It is incredible to me that even now, after all the human race has been through, and is still going through, that a person can be so moved to fear by an un armed child, that he sees fit to shoot the fellow down. What paranoia and foolishness have we wrought upon ourselves!

You are welcome to disagree all you want to but it still does not make your statements correct. Yes I do feel welcome in my area due to the fact that I own the land I live on and worked hard to get it. I am at peace with my neighbors even though they may be racist or "bible thumpers", and they respect me because they have witnessed the fact that I was able to raise my four sons to respect their neighbors and to treat people with courtesy. You stereotyped hillbillies as all racist. I drew a comparison, in which I also used the attire a person wore as an example, not just race. My point being that all stereotyping is invalid and wrong. The "family stick"? Implying inbreeding? Interesting enough, but I can't say as I personally know anyone in my area that is guilty of that. The area is actually better known for it's beautiful scenery and laid back atmosphere which is why I transplanted here from Houston many years ago.

BTW, my "jug band" consists of myself, and two of my sons as well as several friends. Electric guitars and Marshall amps turned up to 10. Our music doesn't include bluegrass or gospel, but if you like classical or heavy metal we would be more than happy to play a set for you.

So the cops just do nothing? Why didn't they take pictures of the wounds? Why did they just get one statement from Mr. Zimmerman and let him go. Why not release full statements from the other witnesses? Why was Mr. Zimmerman following the boy in the first place? Why did Mr. Zimmerman place himself in harms way when he didn't even have to get out of his car? When you hear the "girlfriends" statement, why does it conflict? Why do the other public witnesses statements conflict?
