I did not read this entire thread, so if Popsmayhem is being racist, I missed that part. I will say, that we all know our MSM always seems to have an agenda, and when a President joins in, that agenda is even more highlighted.

I am not dismissing the shooter, if he had not been there with a gun, the young man would not be dead, but it would be nice to hear all the official facts before getting on the hoody bandwagon.

Most people are going with the innocent young man with his skittles in his hand. I have not heard that to be official. But I can also say, many different scenarios could have occured, including the shooter defending himself. If that is the case, he still should have been arrested, because at a minimum, this would still be man-slaughter, but we should all here, be waiting for the official information, not jumping to conclusions either way

He is a small boy compare to zimmerman who had a gun

Zimmerman is not innocent
why would he use his gun to kill ??
Was the little boy with skittles to much violent for him
and he couldnt do something else to stop him
so the only choice for zimmerman to shoot the boy at a place where he will certainly die

This story is very fishy and doesnt make sense
did Zimmerman provoke the boy by insulting him in a way ?
and he turned back to walk towards zimmerman ?
he probably feeled treatened and had no choice to use his gun

people are very quick these day to use that dangerous weapon

This is one reason even though I do not agree with it that some people are against guns. I have guns and love the right to bear arms.

But the simple fact is you have a few people that think they are Clint Eastwood billy bad ass cause they carry a gun. A few on ATS seem to display this same type of sentiment.

Let me start by saying I dont think race had anything to do with it, im sick of the race card being played constantly it was maxed out years ago.

Now onto my opinion. Zimmerman should have waited for the cops, if he wanted to follow the kid he should have stayed his distance and kept watch. He had no right confronting the kid who had done nothing wrong.

Id be dead as well cause if Zimmerman followed me trying to detain me it would have led to a confrontation and I do not have a CC permit so im not armed but i can handle my self and if that 17 year old kid could get the better of him i would have laid him out.

Regardless of how the confrontation started its not like the kid was going to beat Zimmerman to death. Oh my i got a broken bloody nose!!! I fear for my life.. LOL yeah right. Ive been in my fair share of fights bouncing and I never felt threatened with my life as long as the person was unarmed and it was one on one. If he lost the fight he should just took his ass kicking and left. I have a hard time thinking he believed this guy was gonna beat him to death with his bare hands.

This Zimmerman was a pussy plan and simple and he shot a UNARMED KID who had a bag of skittles and some tea. He is a wanna be billy bad ass with a gun who thinks pulling the trigger makes him a MAN.

This guy is not a cop, he had no right to take the law into his own hands and escalate a situation. Anybody could have been more subtle and just followed the kid at a distance and acted like they were just taking a stroll while waiting for the cops to arrive (COMMON SENSE) . But this wouldn't have been as exciting as playing potential wanna be hero with a gun.

Evidently Zimmerman was making a scene because the kid noticed him! Great PI work their Zim.


He just better be glad it wasnt my kid or he would need the gun.

And furthermore according to the law Zimmerman has to prove it was self defense and make the case for it. And it better be convincing.

Sometimes supporting the truth just isn't worth it...

Zimmerman is going to come out the loser on this one - hopefully several members of the police department handling this case are going to catch it as well

there are two sets of witnesses in this one - both saying completely different things - no muddy water here - one group is lying

Your second paragraph should tell you why you should not jump on the hoody bandwagon amd wait for official information.

Do not assume anything, your first paragraph is Full of assumptions.

The facts of the case are hard to discern, and the police, investigators and all of those who are charged with making the final decisions must figure out what is truth and what is fiction in a case like this.

Before we say who is guilty and who is not, jumping on one or the other bandwagon, lets look at the facts of the case and maybe a bit of history involved here.

George Zimmerman, based off of the pictures, does not appear to be white, rather of Hispanic origin.
He has a history of calling 911 and the police in a period of time and ultimately lives in a gated community in Florida. There he the watch captain, of a neighborhood watch, though there are questions as to if he is, or is he going at this alone. The question of why he was carrying a loaded gun on him, should come to the forefront of every ones mind, cause that, would be an indication of trouble.

The neighborhood where this incident happened, is not one that is at peace, it is one where there are problems of a criminal nature happening, from break-ins to burglaries happening, thus it would be natural that the people there did form a neighborhood watch.

We do not know much about TRAYVON Martin, as there is not much reported, save that he was 17 and staying with his father.

On the day in question, here is the order of events that can be surmised and determined before hand:
1) Tray was at his fathers house, and then went to the store.
2) On the way back, he decided to cut through and take a short cut through this neighborhood, where he was observed by George Zimmerman.
3) George Zimmerman, calling the police to report a suspicious looking person in the neighborhood was walking through and was advised not to approach.

That is what we know, that has been reported. The following can be based off of what is now coming out and possibly from those who either heard such, either being there in the area, or on the phone. Mind you that as both witnesses for either side are not coming forward, we can not be sure of what all happened after that.

George saw Tray as he was patrolling the neighborhood. Tray, being in a hoodie that was up, was on his phone talking with someone. George calls the police, and then gets out to approach, Tray seeing this remains on the phone for a short bit, and tries to run. George chases Tray. Tray, probably turned around and confronted George, heated exchange, and then, possibly a physical confrontation. (Witnesses via 911 calls) One of them is possibly hit and knocked down, from the police reports that are being released slowly, as this is an active investigation, it was George. There are calls for help that can be heard, though who it is, is in dispute. There is a gun shot and Tray ends up on the ground with a bullet in him that takes his life.

There is that gap, where there are no witnesses that are present, as they have not come forward. Funny thing about witnesses, we should know who they are, or at least if they are credible for it to be valid and considered evidence. I am surprised that the media did not go out and talk to those around the neighborhood or even try to determine who the eyewitness was, or they could be under a gag order not to release this information. This is possible, as the volatility of this incident is very high. Due to the nature, and what all is coming out, there is much more to this story that what is being released, and it appears as though we are going to be given more details slowly, as those who are conducting this are hoping to calm the fires that are springing up.

So the question is this: What if Zimmerman is guilty, would that prompt the change in the laws of Florida? But on the flip side of the coin, what if he is innocent and was attacked, then what happens after that?

who is 6'2 200 lbs. he towered over zimmerman.

in this whole debacle is the eye witness testimony he testified he saw

Neighborhood watch. The operative word is watch. Neighborhood watch volunteers should be ‘armed’ with a cell phone, pepper spray, or maybe taser. Only non-lethal weapons. Ice tea & Skittles are dangerous weapons? When he started following or chasing the teenager he was no longer watching. He did call 911 but he did not follow the 911 operator’s advice. Arrest him and let the jury decide.

The question people need to be asking of the press is why are they not showing pictures of what trayvon looks like now not what he looked like as a little kid. That's what you need to be asking, from what I've heard on the radio, this "kid" was seventeen close to eightteen and played hs football, so it doesn't seem as though he'd be some light weight little kid.
The press, jackson, sharpton, farrakhan and obama have their resons to keep fanning the flames, if you ignore them, then the truth should come out and we'll know what happened.
