And of course he didn’t belong in a ‘gated community’ but don’t you question that the society you live in necessitates this fortified existence and its ‘them or us’ mentality?

This is what i dont get put colour aside for a second.

we know he was on the phone with his girlfriend and he said someone is following him and walking fast. heck if you have done nothing wrong and someone is following your every move and its night and raining i would be afraid #less, even as a male adult you would but this was a child with nothing to arm himself with but a drink and snack, but its ok to kill him......yeah next time your walking at night and someone following you make sure to ask him questions while hes close to you ok because ofcause the person will not try to do anything for sure.....

I'm from America, and I'm Native American. I've seen how some whites behave.

And I have seen black people rally when there was an innocent white person killed. It happened in my area, and didn't make national news.

When are we going to see a decent picture of Zimmerman is all I am saying? They keep showing pictures of Trayvon and he looks younger than 16. Zimmerman keeps looking like some sweaty, lazy un shaved bum (exaggeration).

I have 2 black roomates and have been around and friends with black people all my life.

One time I heard "naw man I got black friends" Then I hear a laugh yea so they seem until you are close enough to be robbed. I busted out laughing cause I have seen this play out. This kinda thing happens both ways always and is different toward region. It is the racist black white crap that still holds us back as a nation. Simple black or white I am going to trust you the same and know either one is capable of the same atrocities, as well as the same intelligence and chance for good. I have seen both do just as bad and just as good just go about it different ways sometimes. The white man who is sccared of the black man is just as much the problem as the black man that feels they are being held down still by the white man. It seems clear to me that Zimmerman is in the wrong. He CHASED DOWN a young man who he did not know because "they always get away". He is not certified BY THE PEOPLE to chase down suspicious persons as a cop would. After following Martin, Zimmerman initiated a confrontation with the KID he had just chased down, after being told not to do so. WHAT WAS HE THINKING HE WAS GOING TO ACCOMPLISH?

On the other hand, Martins actions seem to be his search for his dad. And being up past bedtime. The horror.

NOW, you tell me that Zimmerman's actions were not aggressive and did not initiate events leading to an easily avoidable death of 17 year old KID.

The way members here defend Zimmerman is SICKENING. A lot of you people think Zimmerman was not only justified, but applaud his actions. WHAT THE HELL? The reason that the second amendment is under attack is because of people like you who cannot determine when you are justified to use a gun. And maybe they are right. CLEARLY, far too many of you are gun-ho to point where by merely having a gun you are endangering the safety of innocents around you. CONTROL YOURSELVES OR DON'T CARRY AND DON'T CHASE DOWN KIDS YOU FIND SUSPICIOUS.

I fail to see what his possible involvement with drugs has to do with this. Was he selling drugs in the neighborhood...noo..so why do people keep bringing it up. He was committing no crime just walking around late at night.

As for George Zimmerman...he was charged with assaulting a police officer and domestic violence..so if your gonna bring up the victims past..you must include his.

I haven't really been following this case until I came across this thread. I've read all the accounts. I've watched all the videos. Here is what I see.

A "neighborhood watchman" sees a black kid in his neighborhood at night with his hood up. He takes it upon himself to follow this kid. This "neighborhood watchman" is armed. The kid is not. Zimmerman follows the kid, which puts him in position of aggressor. Trayvon was leaving the area, trying to get away. Ok right here any assumption that he is "peeking in windows" or trying to rob houses goes out the door. Why? Because the kids father lives in the area. He was on his way back to his fathers house. So anyway, Zimmerman calls 911, utters things like "they always get away" and "f#$@ing coon (or punk)". 911 dispatcher CLEARLY tells Zimmerman to STOP pursuing the kid, which he ignores and then shoots the kid dead.

#1. Neighborhood watch does not give you the right to kill someone. You have no more authority than a garbageman.
#2. If a 911 dispatcher tells you to stop pursing a suspect, then this "stand your ground" law is null.
#3. If I am armed and pursuing you, I am the aggressor. Not the other way around.

I find it funny, and quite disgusting that I hear things like "oh well he was a black kid with a hood on" or "oh he was 6 feet tall and black". What the hell does that have to do with anything?? I'll tell you what, if I have a gun in my waistband I don't give a damn if your 12 feet tall and 1000lbs. I'm not afraid of you. So your telling me this guy Zimmerman, who is armed and pursuing Trayvon, was "afraid"? Gimme a break. And another thing, if someone pursues me for long enough, I AM going to confront them. I guess that means anyone with a gun could pursue someone to the point of agitation and then kill them in so called self defense?

This guy (Zimmerman) should have been arrested on the spot and held for murder. He wasn't a cop, he wasn't being pursued or threatened. He just followed some black kid and killed him. Period.

I think to answer that, we'd have to be in Zimmerman's mind. To know if HE was a racist or not. If Zimmerman were racist, then yes, it's a race crime. If he were not, he still violated the Stand Your Ground law and the Neighborhood Watch rules, by stalking this young man. His job, as some on here put it, was to watch. Not stalk. Not interrogate, and certainly not kill. This is a judge's son who has committed violent crimes before, some of which were felonies, and yet, he was still allowed to carry a weapon. Whomever let those past violations disappear to the point where it was ok for Zimmerman to be carrying a weapon, in my opinion, should share some of the responsibility. My personal opinion, I'd feel the same no matter the color. This was a vigilante who shot an unarmed young man.

Just wonder where people stand.

what kinda gated community was it. because everyone i have entered made me sign in and out and gave me a visitors pass without said pass the guards would detain you for trespassing was guy right for following kid maybe maybe not. but in light of current info i can see why police let guy go.

I live dead center between Baltimore and DC. Between the two, there are dozens of murders daily. Most of the time names on the report are not even given, and it's a 10 second segment, followed by sports. Am I to assume that since these people were murdered by fellow blacks, that it is no big deal to Hollywood and the president? Can you imagine what it would look like every time a teen was gunned down and a rally and community outrage ensued? What about the black community? They are pissed over this, as they should be, but where is the outrage that the vast majority of their murders are committed by other blacks?

Wake up black community. You are being used once again for an agenda. By the way, I am black, and unlike many of the hypocrites I am just as outraged when any human is murdered, not just a cross race murdering (which is stupid because race is an imaginary concept anyways that needs to be done away with)
