Obviously it's marketing!
The best marketing wins....
How much closer to dealing with a criminal like this would we be if the organization all hung out in in somebodies basement with no internet connection and and posted a few signs in the basement only. Thats terrible marketing.

As far as younger people being naive? no worse then old people, only difference is we know how to use the modern world to find answers. Youth are WAY better for society then old people on EVERY level. We could go way off topic and get into this if you'd like.

I think it's obvious what the agenda is here, it's to make criminals famous. What's the downside? That I flip over to yahoo one day and see significant news instead of an article about Kim Kardashians shoe collection?

The only argument that I can see against this video and group so far is a weariness to get US military forces involved. that and that alone is the only legit discussion here, but even then, it's(so far) only 100 advisers.

Joseph Kony has been involved in these types of atrocities for a long time now and not just in Uganda. He is by far the biggest monster on the planet and has been getting away with it for far too long.

Saying this whole thing is a Psy-Op is not only disingenuous, it is actually rather disturbing. I suggest you actually look into Joseph Kony and the LRA.

If you do not like the Invisible Children thing then fine but to simply dismiss Kony is wrong on so many levels.

I agree.

Sometimes things are as they seem.

If they would watch the 30 minute video the organizer of all this put together they'd know that this isn't some Psy-op.

And unless the OP has any actual PROOF, then i don't buy it.

It's not the raising of awareness that is at issue. It is an unaccountable, unaudited charity asking for your money and then spending only about 30% of donations on the actual cause. Charity IS big business these days.

How different is this from any other charity?
Is it or isn't it? I don't know, I don't think you do either or you would have started with that.
Seems to me they are making a difference, little bit at a time. You're all just starting to sound like a bunch of pessimistic do nothings. You'll never see anything as a positive.

Where is your proof? Looks to me like you are guessing. Sometimes things are just ass they seem. For all we know maybe YOU are the one with a "hidden agenda". But thats just my guess.

I do not like chuggers - (charity muggers). I have done plenty of charity work in my time - and I did it for free. I always thought that was the whole idea of charity - to give your time to help FOR FREE. I helped establish three separate charities that were jacked by 'professionals' who now do very well from the charity donations....and they keep growing in numbers. They earn super duper salaries, pay their mortgage, drive a nice car and and have their annual two weeks away - all from donations to help the appointed cause.

I hope everyone takes the time to watch the video. This has absolutely gone viral today. My daughter came home and had me watch it and it brought me to tears. I don't think any child should live under the conditions these children have. Flavian knows what he is talking about. I think the organization TRY is an inspiration to Americans that people can bring change, if they stand together. It really moved me.

I agee with the methods. Make the criiminal famous, so everyone knows what he looks like and put that animal in prison.

I think your post was riddled by personal rhetoric then anything, you would have established a much more credible stance if you simply mentioned the tiny bit of information on Invisible Children Inc. under Wikipedia.

It says they refused to openly sign the BBB agreement and are therefore sketchy as far as charity accountability goes.

And here's the link:

BBB on Invisible Children

I don't know what that might mean to the masses who are being bombarded by the viral video, but to me that means there is very little guarantee the money you're sending is actually going to good.

I agree Gypsy. There's something more in the works. The sheep are really "baa-ing" today. Too many posts on facebook, twitter, etc. talking about it and trumping up support. Seems in these days people will take anything at face value. I smell something ominous. I'm posting the opposing view all over Facebook and every time I do, Facebook makes me do a captcha puzzle. Pisses me off. I'll be addressing this with my high school students tomorrow. Maybe I can teach them a lesson in critical thinking.

Really? And what are you going to say to them? Are you going to have them watch the video? Did you watch it? If anything, the video will show children that their voice can make a difference. There's always corruption when it comes to money, but that doesn't mean that every one of those young people out there fighting for the children of Africa are corrupt or the people that take action are corrupt!

It's NOT to make criminals famous. It's to bring Kony's ugly mug to the public's attention! What do police departments or detectives do when they want to catch a criminal? I also agree with you concerning young people being more likely to get involved where the older generation would rather take a back seat.

yeah yeah doing work for free is always nice but be realistic. I worked in a kitchen one day serving food to homeless guys and packing hundreds of sack lunches that got distributed around the city, I was not paid. However, the work was nearly as tough as any other restaurant job I've had, and took up at least 5 hours of my time. Suppose I did it everyday? Get what I'm saying? If people are doing a lot of work, why shouldn't they be paid? If 30% of one charities cash is 10 times 100% of anothers, and it's due to full time dedicated employees...then?? What? How can you argue, you can't. If this was just a bunch of part time charity people sitting around in someones basement spending 100% of the money they brought in, which was nil, you'd never have seen this video, and neither would thousands of other who are oblivious to this kind of stuff. And that would make you happy, because that's one less evil NWO agenda to deal with...LOL. Not saying you're one of those NWO nuts, but you get my point.

I could have SWORN the USAF had an operation going on here in 2010...

not only that but I'm pretty sure the UK had something going on in 2009 as well in regards to Kony..

I know the OP is right by saying hes in the Congo now... not even a relevant thing...

I really wonder whats up, and I don't think its selling bracelets

I think this idea has merit to boost the political profile of some guys who let's face it have been taking a beating lately.

As I watched this however, I felt it was very powerful, but. The critical part of me wasn't sitting right. No doubt this guy has to come to justice. There were some things that sat badly with me however, and am glad I'm not alone in thinking this.

They kept talking about how everyone has to get involved with the politicians to force them to react. That seems odd to me at the moment as there is so much pressure on so many other issues that are getting abjectedly ignored by politicians. Even forcing legislation down the throats of americans that they do not want. Then suddenly this feelgood event comes along to make everyone feel all warm and fuzzy about achieving a global effort to stop something by using a bunch of well known globalist stooges.

Something stinks here folks. I agree with the message, but its clearly for political gain.

I cannot flag this enough, I will try my best to give people another point of view without being
stamped as "supporter of child abuse", many of the kony 2012 facebook supporters
are just people who act emotionally off the hook without any thinking to where they get
the information that there is a guy called kony or why did it suddenly spring up.
People tend to buy into everything because they love to be praised or are
simply (snipo).
