as most of you expressed it, i can't point my finger at what's disturbing me with that video - it's for a good cause and it uses the powers of the internet and networking in a brilliant way. As for the video itself, the only criticism i could openly make is regarding the blatant demagogy - but even with this i can recognize the directors and producers choice.

And i don't know how cynical and paranoid i've become, but i would also say that there's something fishy in this thing.

What!? April 20th isn't a satanic ritual day! It's a day of celebration in the "hippy" sub-culture. However, April 19th is the start of some 13 day pagan holiday related to the sun god, don't know much about the details

And yes this is definitely a psy-op. kids keep posting to the KONY 2012 video on Facebook without fully understanding what/who they're supporting.

Yeah Joseph Kony is a monster, but so is Netanyahu, and so is Ahmadinejad, and so is Kim Jung Un. But guess what, so are most of our politicians here in the US.

People are gravitating to this because of the sensationalistic way the video triggers emotions.

Getting lit up all over facebook by people saying I'm no worse than KONY for posting an objectified view of the whole situation. Too me this just further proves the power the media wields, and how a divide and conqour can so easily be used against the masses by pitting one another against each other. My response to most is when you dig, you usually find what your looking for. Just seems, too many are willing to blindly follow what our magic boxes say these days, truely sad.

I watched and shared the video this morning as well. Thankfully, I saw the this link on Twitter, and I looked deeper: The Son of Africa claims a continent's crown jewels. Turns out, plenty of people not only question Invisible Children's financial practices, but question the motives of military intervention in Africa. I took down my original share of the video and instead posted support for Kony's fall from power, and links to this and other articles I have seen linked here on ATS. So far it's been pretty civil.

I will say that I am incredibly happy to see compassion spread so far and this quickly, and I hope to see more awareness campaigns go viral in the future as this one did. I just need to learn how to think more critically whenever my emotions get swept up so easily.

Ha I just went from watching the Kony video to this thread, and OP you are totally right very good warning.

I got aware of the video during the first day it was ''published'' by the Invisible children channel on Youtube. I admit falling ''prey'' to it, it is indeed a moving documentary and conveys a inspiring and positive message of things that need to change.

Let's see do I listen to a bunch of sit on their hands conspiracy nut jobs or an organization which has brought awareness of Kony in the past couple hours alone to thousands of people.

Without going into the..."just look who is involved" argument....what exactly is the problem here?

I certainly agree with the psyops being used against large populations seenavv. After more than a decade in the usaf, and a brother who worked at the pentagon for eight years and had a very short chain of command.. I'm 100% sure psyops are being utilized against the masses.

There are two schools at Goodfellow Air Force Base. One is the firefighter acadamy for military. The other is cryptology and intelligence.

Goodfellow Air Force Base is a non-flying United States Air Force base located in San Angelo, Texas. As part of Air Education & Training Command (AETC), Goodfellow's main mission is cryptologic and intelligence training for the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps. Military firefighters are also trained here as part of the 312th Training Squadron.

What do I think "cryptology and intelligence" means?

Couldn't agree any more. As much as I admire this Kony video, I wish it was true. This is targeted to young people, whom don't have the wisdom and the life experience as adults.

I wonder if this is another false flag attempt to raise approval for invasion of Africa. Upon reading it seems that Kony is now in the republic of Congo somewhere.

What im proposing is maybe this is the new ploy to take over natural resources? I wiki'd Republic of Congo and it seems that they are considered the 4th wealthiest country in Africa. They also receive the most thunderstorms than anywhere on the globe. They also have the second largest rainforest on the globe after the Amazon. The Albertine Rift also is loaded with minerals such as Cadmium, cobalt, copper, and diamonds. Wiki shows that its natural resources are worth over $14 Trillion US.

So something def building in my opinion.

Has anyone seen the movie "Machine gun preacher"? true story. That guy has brought himself to fight this madness first hand. I support invisible children, just not with my cash! You guys are right, maybe it is a sy-op! Until something better comes along, I'll support this movement.

Then again, doing nothing about Kona is still just being blind to it! Also if Kona is killed then someone in his organization will just take over in his place. Some of those kids are brainwashed from 2-4 years old and know nothing else, so why would they change?

You'll get no argument from me about the ineptitude of previous generations, however, these same tech savvy kids are relatively naive and inexperienced in real life and so can be susceptible to the fraud and abuse that also occurs on line. Much less can they recognize or resist a smoothly produced psy-op. Whatever the intent of the video, make no mistake - it's marketing. So what's it really selling and who is really profiting? It's crazy not to ask these questions.
