I dont know if anyone will answer you, it's best to stay on topic...might be easier for you to try and get 20 posts by replying to other posts around ATS, then make up a thread...sure you'll get lots of replies

"Alien like" is misleading to you.
What would be a better choice of words for you?
Human-like?

I think your response is weak and fails miserably to lend anything at all to the thread.

This would go back to the ongoing debate about the extra-terrestrial hypothesis being the default explanation.

So he's making a valid point relative to the issue.

Thanks for snipping the part about soldiers clowning with us out of your reply. That was my point. How do you think all those YouTube videos of soldiers in all theaters get to YouTube? By Carrier pigeon?

One more. Illumination flares dropped in strings are used at night by Gun ships to designate targets on the ground for them to fire upon. Attack helos and C 130's primarily. K...? They hunt at night using FLIR and image intensification. Flares can also be used to keep the enemy pinned until ground forces are called in. No sleep tonight.

Now you trying to pin me down. And I can't say surely what these guys saw. Neither can you. Subjective at best.
Just looking at the evidence of strings of lights in a theatre of military ops at night and thinking, hmmmm.

I feel your pain.

It seems like this forum should be named the "Aggressive, Mean-Spirited Debunking" forum because it's full of people with nothing better to do than insult people who post UFO photos, etc.

Hello debunkers? What part of Unidentified Flying Object do you not understand? It may not be aliens but it is still unidentified!

Probably CIA spooks.

Thank you Sword...and stars for your spot on comment.

Although I personally believe in UFOs and the likelihood of alien life forms in the universe, I myself have posted very little in the UFO forum as arguing and humiliating others has never been considered a part of teaching or debate.
The UFO forum is just NOT FUN except for those few who apparently thrive on humiliating others.
More unfortunatley, there is little if anything to learn due to the comments by the few self annointed experts.

Teaching requires a sharing of knowledge and information, and these people do neither.

I find it distressing as I personally had the misconception that ATS was a site where one can come and freely present and discuss ideas.

The regularity is similar to Phoenix Ufo incident, hence these are probably flares, as it was with phoenix case.

That is one eerie picture. It looks like 3 groups of two lights paired up and slightly closer together, with an odd one out in a group by itself. Like this:

oo oo oo o

That, along with the formation itself would seem to suggest there is math involved, and whatever it may be its intelligently controlled. I'd say that rules out any natural phenomenon.

Unless of course its just a hoax.

Well that was the only UFO thread you did a crappy one two years ago... so my point stands... Show us how to make a good UFO thread... Until you do stop complaining about others who do

UFO: U.S. marines report alien-like activity... lets break this down.

unidentified flying objects: if you dont know what is flying up there then its a ufo:
u.s marines: one of the military branch that is consider one of the most respectable in the united states:
alien-like activity: alien also means strange abnormal, so strange activity:

if you look at it that way its exactly as what it says it is but who am i to leave my input im just noobie Xb

although it is very nice it can be anything satellite stars planets allignment or a ufo of some sort who knows where not up there in the universe monitoring every bit of the atmosphere if its even in it..

Not one thing about aliens.Just some lights in the sky. Could be anything.Fail.
Gotta love those misleading headlines.
edit on 6-3-2012 by mark1167 because: text

I concur, there is nothing to reference it to being "alien" to begin with since alien beings do not officially exist besides in theory. This is often the problem, the pre conceived notion that unidentified flying objects are of off planet origin. Because popular belief and pop culture dictates the way people think. This is what damages the credibility of the story when we have a case like this. People have continued to abuse the word "alien" and take things out of context on this very forum and abroad in that regard. Not @ OP but the author of the sourced story uses the word "alien" to bait readers in only to be disappointed with another lights in the sky story which is most likely explainable.Nowhere did the Marnes state they seen aliens only the author imposes the idea. And is likely OP does not like posting here for this reason the reason OP stated who came blame OP, the fringe has made a circus out of the UFO topic and tarnished it. I feel the same way.

Just sayin

For all we know the military was using some unknown drone technology on it's own for reasons unknown. Maybe china is spying on our activities? As for MUFON just because a field investigator "endorses" said story does not give for the reason it wheels. MUFON is compromised of average joes with a hand book akin to deem unknowns as "ET" as is due to ones personal interests. there are very few critical thinkers in MUFON i know because i was with MUFON and got out due to the fringe and the corruption within before Bigelow raided it.

food for thought, cool article though thanks OP

Very short actually but this even happened two years ago and is just now reported...

"They went away for a while and then came back"

"At first we thought maybe flares or weather balloons but they didn't change alt. or fade out or fall. "

Well MUFON has just a simple report on it. MUFON didn't make that headline either
Not sure why your ragging on Bigelow... he is a big supporter of paranormal studies... I wish he would fund me a million bucks... then I could hire a sexatary to sort my 6000 plus files

Besides he told NASA to shove it and has his own space station.

It's so stupid people think it's pure UFO's and alien crap...

It's just after burners from jets.

Possible Stealth Jet tests or something w/ the F35 B- II

It's so stupid people who don't even read reports

Testing stealth jets over Afghanistan? Really?

Afterburners that stay in the same spot for over 40 minutes? Really?

Gump was right "Stupid is as stupid does"

Where are the videos? Do you have any idea how many video recorders exist on a U.S Military base? Cell phones as well? All they got was TWO photos? Come on my friend, think. Talk about stuck on stupid. When they are really here, you will know it. Trust me on that one.

Please enlighten us with anything you can lend to the thread. All you've done is come on and rip me.You haven't contributed anything more than me.

Not as far as I am concerned I think he made some very valid points as to why YOURS, as well as everyone else that seemed to star your post (like 7) seems to be confused about with regards to the overall topic and true definition of what a U.F.O. is. So again I will echo his/her words and say that YES simply popping in and saying how another posters informative and enlightening post "fails miserably" when you have nothing of value to offer up. Sounds trollish IMO, but that's just me.
