Before women could work and earn enough to take care of themselves, they were no more than slaves to men. That has all changed now. Women can choose to have a man or not. Men need to shape up now.
Women do not 'need' men anymore!!
However, men can be 'wanted' and 'loved' by women but it is not enough for the male ego, they feel the need to be needed.

Well, I am a man, I don't think, I know. I have not forgotten what it was like when I was young. No one pushed GI JOE or thundercats, or fighting etc on me. I was drawn to it naturally, it was what interested me.

From kindergarden on, teachers tried to convince me my natural urges were bad, I am glad I didn't buy into that crap. Just need to find an outlet that works for you, not suppress it. Then there is no explosion.

Why is it you think fighting is bad? Males are more apt to physically fight, females are mor apt to fight psychological battles. Both are equally as destructive. It is just nature, not "bad".

The whole point is i do not 'need' a man. I can take care of myself and i can love men but i do not have to own one. And i will never be owned by anyone.

Reading through this thread has made a few things very clear. The most insulting posts here are from men. Why I don't know. Obviously they are reading something into the OP that IMO is really not there.
I am female and I have to say that there are definitive differences in both genders. Heck I would almost go as far as to say that we are two different races of the same species.
Males are stronger in general, more muscular and thanks to testosterone more aggressive. Is this a bad thing? It can be but evolution thinks it is working, otherwise these traits would have died out. Women are also slaves to their hormones and evolution. Going for a more masculine man [or a bad boy] makes sense on a purely natural level. In a cave, this man shows that he is 'fit' [as in survival of the...], he has strong genes and can protect the group. He is probably a better hunter and can provide better.
Is he a better partner in a civilised society where having to rely on one partner is the norm? Probably not for the woman who may encounter violence and/or infidelity. Traits that would have once been useful are now becoming a pain in the backside. But women on an instinctive level will still go for these men and perpetuate these genes.

Now to us women. No we are not perfect. When we dwelled in caves we didn't go out hunting mammoths. Probably because we had to be there for the kids. Make sure they were breast fed when little and generally making sure they are brought up. Nothing any caveman would ever be interested in. We had to keep fires going and whilst home alone waiting for the men, we would chat and make things. Maybe jewellery or clothing. A good woman in those days would not have been a blonde bombshell with massive bazookas but one that would be able to have a lot of kids without dying, one that would be good at bringing them up without letting them die and one that was stable. Nowadays these women are the ones men are still after for marriage. The false Barbies are merely for fun and games.

No seriously I don't want to be emancipated. I don't want to do what men do because I do not enjoy these things. Some women do though and all we are asking for that if we want to become builders to have the opportunity. Do you know how hard it is for a woman to work in a man's job? You wouldn't because you were never on the receiving end. On the other side, if you work in a very feminized place such as an office [no mammoth hunting going on there, just chatting, coffee drinking and prancing around in the newest clothes]. Then you as a man may feel as if they are taking the pi** out of you or make you the butt of their jokes. These may even be sexist ["oooh look at his bottom"]. Well we get this all the time, so grow a pair.

I do not want to be a man. I am a woman and I have a lot of female traits, I like shiny things and shoes and I am gentler in general but have a very nasty tongue [mostly because I lack the muscle power]. Yeah, I can say really hurtful things, so what? Men don't ever insult us?
I studied Neuroscience and know about the physical differences in our brains. We ARE different through evolution. We have evolved into our roles. That doesn't mean that there can't be a change creeping up. After all living things will adapt to their environments.
If women start choosing gentler males for reproduction, the chances are that men will become gentler, weaker and more feminine. If men go and don't use contraception and impregnate anybody without actually choosing a partner they like, then those genes will go on.

I don't really know why some males on this thread feel so offended. Just because you don't like the statistics and because there are also some women that do nasty things, still doesn't mean the genders are suddenly equal. I think domestic violence against women is still seen as worse because thousands of women die every week [or is it day] at their partners hand. Whilst the amount of men dying by a woman's hand is very little in comparison. The reason for this is that men ARE stronger physically, their anger is also far greater. Most spouse murders will have jealousy or raging anger issues as a reason but there are also men out there that consider women their possession and not a human being.
When women murder their partners it is more complicated. It often is out of jealousy and love and having been betrayed. Some women kill their spouses because they have been abused by them for too long and can't see any other way out. They may beat and injure their partners because they have an anger problem that usually has its root somewhere in their upbringing [no excuse but the truth]. Of course there are a few that are just plain nasty and spiteful and maybe enjoy murder. But believe you me, that number is almost non existent in comparison with males.
