EVERY administration says they are going to do something about education. And they make a token effort on it. If you're lucky. Not pointing fingers at any president in the last 20 years but, jeez, put a LITTLE thought into what would actually benefit the country? It isn't trillions in arms. It isn't even some social programs. Those sometimes are worse. Ok, Googling.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Turns out this is an old Chinese proverb. Makes sense to me. Gotta get the kids some ed-u-ca-tion.

In a recent thread here on ATS about the nature of space-time, the majority of posters stated that time was illusory, gravity is a type of magnetism and any talk about spatial multi-dimensionality seemed to be construed as a mental exercise about the spiritual realm.

I hope you are not talking about me Mr chr0naught

I little understand the science and you did make that simple to understand
However science is not the only truth and of course when speaking of other dimensions if one believes in life after death ie we have a soul then other dimensions are a part of that even if not scientifically proved it is has a strong Philososophical base

Yes, I understand the confusion, the English language is constantly mutating. For a long time people with a spiritualist philosophy have used the word 'dimension' rather glibly to describe an alternate spiritual realm (this may be valid too).

However when you "dimension" something, you provide a measurement for it.

Here's a definition from the Online Free Dictionary - Dimension.

As the topic of the post was about space-time, I assumed this was about Physics. I must admit I am quite unqualified to talk about the spiritual realm (as, I suspect, are most people).

Don't take it hard, you are among significant company in your understanding of the word.

No I do not take it hard and thank you for pointing out my error - I never used to use the word dimension before - just a bad habit I picked up - Yet is my understanding diminished - Not really as you know what I meant - Perhaps you could check my post for other gramma mistakes - How does the word realm suit - Joking aside what word would you use for spiritual or soul realm - I do agree we must keep a check of the meaning of words such as Gay etc meaning happy but I guess we lost that one

I just got out of highschool about a year ago, knew all those things. Course my history teacher was the best.

Well I couldn't quite remember, how long a senator is in office, 6 years I think. I do remember it being covered in history. Also, not sure if I entirely trust you're source it looks dare I say sensationalist? However, I don't doubt its to far off the mark.

EDIT: Oh also, I noticed nearly all this questions pertain to dates. Now, while the 'when' in history is important. Its not nearly as important as the why in history. Sure the kids could know that the attack on Pearl harbor happened 12/7/49 and thats all dandy, but not know why it happened and the implications it had on the world would be more troubling.

If you think the next generation is dumb, that is what you were programmed to believe.

Further quotes from this site.

johntaylorgatto.com...

According to experts, the bulk of the mob is hopelessly dumb, even dangerously so. Perhaps you’re a willing accomplice to this social coup which revived the English class system. Certainly you are if your own child has been rewarded with a "gifted and talented" label by your local school. This is what Dewey means by "proper" social order.

According to official reports, only a small fraction of the population is capable of what you and I call mental life: creative thought, analytical thought, judgmental thought, a trio occupying the three highest positions on Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. Just how small a fraction would shock you.

If you believe nothing can be done for the dumb except kindness, because it’s biology (the bell-curve model); if you believe capitalist oppressors have ruined the dumb because they are bad people (the neo-Marxist model);....
if you believe any of the various explanations given for the position of the dumb in the social order we have, then you will be forced to concur that a vast bureaucracy is indeed necessary to address the dumb. Otherwise they would murder us in our beds.

The shocking possibility that dumb people don’t exist in sufficient numbers to warrant the careers devoted to tending to them will seem incredible to you. Yet that is my proposition: Mass dumbness first had to be imagined; it isn’t real.

Once the dumb are wished into existence, they serve valuable functions: as a danger to themselves and others they have to be watched, classified, disciplined, trained, medicated, sterilized, ghettoized, cajoled, coerced, jailed. To idealists they represent a challenge, reprobates to be made socially useful. Either way you want it, hundreds of millions of perpetual children require paid attention from millions of adult custodians. An ignorant horde to be schooled one way or another.

Connect to the previous dot. As our media keeps telling us, we are all perpetual children, who must be looked after by the establishment all our lives, whether or not you are successful in life.

If you look at the next generation as dumb, it is because of the slave mentality that has been programmed into you through your education, and private schools are as bad, if not worse than public schools.

Because this subject matter is so important I will put another video I found (and have) on here: It's a short one but good.

Now think of all the money we put into our military..................and compare what we put into education.

Description of video:

This video quotes major experts, sources, and observers of the American educational system. Please watch our other video:
www.youtube.com...
and the video below uploaded by prestondave:

www.youtube.com...

This video addresses who really runs America's educational system and it's real purpose.

Get involved with your children.

Turn off the boob tube.
Have a "reading time"
Don't let your kids play endlessly on their PC or Ipods.
And lastly below is a video that I will support as my third son got his GED through a private on-line high school and is (I consider way better educated) than my other two, the middle one has a high IQ - The oldest and youngest are a little above average and again the youngest is way better educated, I looked through (he has kept) his material.

It was expensive, but worth the money because every night now he reads vs watching TV (except for High Gear and National Geo)

The man in this video says it all.

Description of video:

Clip explaining how America's public schools, colleges and universities have been infiltrated and are being used to destroy the minds of children and divert their loyalties to compromised Marxist, Communist and Socialist educators.

More information can be found at www.fhu.com/brainwashing_booklet.html

My history teacher, our last day of class said, "I hope I have wet your appetite to learn more, never stop learning, never stop reading and researching and never let anyone else do your thinking for you."

This video, I think is correct. Our educational system is churning out little worker drones, dumbed down enough to not stir up trouble or be bothersome to "handle".

“We want one class of persons to have a liberal education, and we want another class of persons, a very much larger class of necessity in every society, to forgo the privilege of a liberal education and fit themselves to perform specific difficult manual tasks.” ― Woodrow Wilson

As I said in another post, 50% of the students are below average!

I think that to be in a college bound program you should be achieving in the top 30% of students nationwide.

Have the rest enter trade schools that will help them find good paying jobs.

If you are a mediocre student and you are taking college prep classes, you most likely won't get into college and you also don't have an education that prepares you for the work force.

There's something rather ignorant about making broad-reaching statements about certain groups of people.

You can't possibly use these results and apply them to ALL American high school students.

yeah, 50% are below average conformists, and 50% are above average conformists, and the really good conformists will go to college, racking up large debts in the process, in order to have mediocre careers, often doing bad things to good people as servants of the system.

Word of advise, learn to be good at doing physical things, as it will become very important in the near future.

It's easy to assume that all public school systems are sub-par. However, I went to an excellent elementary and middle school that taught me most of what I know. I later did my own research into alternative history. Regardless, I was at a college reading level when I was in 4th grade. I took years of intensive speech therapy and tutoring in various subjects to get where I am today.

It really depends on how much your community values education.

They don't teach you about the CONTENTS of the constitution, OR the contents of the Deceleration of Independence.

We had to memorize the Constitution in my Freshman Year of high school. Graduated high school in 1971.

I found that hard to watch without feeling something rise in me against these evil old men and their blind ways.
When the truth of how ordinary people are seen by these elites you can not turn away
The vidoes you posted speak volumes - I wish people would take notice of what is right under their noses.
So they say art and poertry science amonst other things should NOT be encouraged amonst us the cattle class - well there is a short answer to that.
I feel angry at them the Rockerfellers the Rothschilds etc and their cowardly minions - if we fight amongst our selves instead of helping each other then they will have their way completely.

The school system is pathetic, absolutely pathetic, what they did to my son, I don't have the words to express,

This is a guy who plays the piano, the violin, and the guitar, he can talk to you about any subject from politics to philosophy, and the school taught him nothing,

He gave up on the school system in the ninth grade and got a GED, he now repairs and builds computers,

They kept that kid in in house constantly, wouldn't send down his work, just let him sit there all day, day after day, it was like they had it in for him.
