Palestine was created by Rome, under the knowledge that the name was from Philista. Those people were long dead and gone, but Rome wanted to change history and say the Jews lost.

It's a political game.

The region has been inhabited by many many people. The most recent of permanence were Jews. After that, the land has been practically owned by every culture under the sun.

I see no reason to return a region to any one group of people. Make it a UN state, and shoot anybody trying to make it a warzone. That which has been ruled by every people, can only be claimed by all people. Not by one. be they Palestine or Israel.

Call it semantics, but Rome didn't "create" Palestine. They may have called it by the name Palistina, which in turn was based on Peleste, Philista, etc., and we Westerners, as the inheritors of the Greek/Roman culture may rightly claim it was Greeks/Romans to first use that name, but that's not the same as claiming they didn't exist prior to that.

I think you got it almost right, it's more to do with the money than votes after all jews are only 2% of the population.

It's not only Jewish votes,

it's Jewish and Israeli and Zionist supporters votes.

there are many statements by Arab leaders explicitly denying that a Palestinian nation exists, but that instead it is merely a convenient fiction to hang a propaganda narrative on.

Would those be the same leaders that have been put in position by America and Israel?

I wonder why they would deny such a thing...

I also wonder why their people are revolting and these "leaders" turn out to be nothing more than foreign policy puppets for the US and thus via proxy, Israel.

Your argument holds no water. Unless you can show that these "leaders" properly represent(ed) their people. Which you can't because revolutions have broken out.

In 1974, the late Syrian President, Hafez al-Assad, declared: "It would be fitting for us to mention to the responsible Israeli authorities that we view Palestine not just as an inseparable part of the Arab nation, but as a part of Southern Syria."

In 1987, he reiterated himself at a conference in Amman, "A country named 'Palestine' has never existed." Jordanian King Hussein responded, "The appearance of the national Palestinian persona serves as a response to Israel's claim that Palestine is Jewish."

Arafat who in 1970, with candid simplicity, told the reporter Arianna Palazzi: "The question of borders doesn't interest us... From the Arab standpoint, we mustn't talk about borders. Palestine is nothing but a drop in an enormous ocean. Our nation is the Arabic nation that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea and beyond it..... The P.L.O. is fighting Israel in the name of Pan-Arabism. What you call "Jordan" is nothing more than Palestine."

israelagainstterror.blogspot.com...

You can understand why corruption started a new thread when his lies were exposed - there is no defense against these statements and there are more equally damning at the site.

^^^ all puppets IMO

follow the money and support.

vermin attracts vermin

many "quoted" statements are out of context and manipulated.

Some historians believe many Roman "historians" were Jewish, since Jewish influence was heavy in ancient Rome.

Much of what has become "history" is exaggerated and possibly false.

Are there any genuine writings from that ancient period?

Rome was all about commerce.

The Jewish administrators controlled much of it, and were not necessarily loyal to any single "government".

The merchant/banker elite was not limited to any single border.

Makes people wonder if the Roman/Jewish "conflicts" were fabricated for financial and commercial purposes.

The area referred to as palestine is not, and never has been a country.

It NEVER had a currency.

It NEVER was a sovereign entity.

The people known as palestinians were a nomadic group from OTHER various arab countries who roamed from area to area.

It is an area, like a development in a township.

Israel has been a country for thousands and thousands of years.

End of subject.

I didn't realize 1948 was thousands and thousands of years ago. That's when "Israel" became a sovereign state. And 1922 is when the British mandate made Palestine a state. Last time I checked, 1922 was earlier than 1948. I guess since both are the creations of foreign interventions, then the Israeli people are "invented" too?

The Palestine pound (Arabic: جُنَيْه فِلَسْطَينِيّ‎, junyah filastini; Hebrew: פֿוּנְט פַּלֶשְׂתִינָאִי א"י))‎‎, funt palestina'i (eretz-yisra'eli), also Hebrew: לירה א"י))‎‎ lira eretz-yisra'elit) was the currency of the British Mandate of Palestine between 1927 and 1948. It was divided into 1000 mils (Arabic: Arabic: مِل‎, Hebrew: Hebrew: מִיל‎). The Palestine pound was also the currency of Transjordan until 1949 and the West Bank until 1950.

Palestine pound

Banknotes

In 1927, banknotes were introduced by the Palestine Currency Board in denominations of 500 mils, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 100 pounds. Notes were issued with dates up to 1945.

newt will say anything on an issue as long as it gets the most people to vote for him.

example. 55 people like apple pie. 45 like blueberry pie. therefore newt likes apple pie.

3 months later. 53 people like blueberry pie. 47 like apple pie. newt no longer likes apple pies but likes blueberry pie now.

that's what paul, romney and every candidate keeps criticising gingrich about.

Oh yes, they existed prior to that. The Jews exterminated them. I don't think you realize. We do not find any anthropological evidence for pre Hebrew people at a certain point. Their people died. Rome certainly did a fair job is killing them, Jews, and everyone else. Until all that were left were a few Italia and Greeko. And to this day, all who live there are they and the Persians/arabs who came by during the crusades.

Actually no. Jews were subjugated people. Which meant they answered to Rome or were killed. It makes no sense for you to claim this when, just a generation after Christ, Rome more or less went ahead in the eradication of Hebrew culture and set them to the far winds. I highly doubt a people put to the sword and exiled had any measurable influence....otherwise, you know....they would not have been put to genocide and exile.

Much of what has become "history" is exaggerated and possibly false.

Victors write history. They wrote that Israel was erased. Seems logical enough.

Are there any genuine writings from that ancient period?

Oh HAI, Generalization. Yes, Jewz haz money.

The merchant/banker elite was not limited to any single border.

yes they were. The bankers were owned by the emperor. You paid your money to the emperor. If you didn't, you were crucified.

Makes people wonder if the Roman/Jewish "conflicts" were fabricated for financial and commercial purposes.

How about you, you know, go and find some actual data. Judea was a worthless province that had no value other than a way-point to the profitable silk road. That's why Rome had no problem in exterminating them when they rebelled. Because they didn't need workers, what with there being nothing to work.

You misquoted Newt. He did not say that Palestine was a recent creation. He and any intelligent person knows the Palestine was the name the Romans gave the land the Pontius Pilate was the Roman Governor of. Newt said that the there never was "Palestinian" people until recently. The term "Palestinian" was coined about the time the Israeli Army liberated Jerusalem.

Because mass murdering Jews isn't nonsense. April 9, 1948: A combined force of Irgun and Stern Gangs committed a brutal massacre of 260 Arab residents of the village of Deir Yassin. Most of whom were women and children. Accounts by Red Cross and United Nations observers who visited the scene said that the houses were first set on fire and the occupants were shot down as they came out to escape the flames. One pregnant woman had her baby cut out of her stomach with a knife. Israel can't cry about terrorist because they are no better in many ways they are much worse.

If you want an unbiased view of the Israel-Palestine conflict, may I suggest:
Bias and Distorted Media Coverage of Israel/Palestine

n January 27th media headlines trumpeted that Palestinians had broken the latest cease-fire: a bomb had killed one Israeli soldier and injured two or three.

Virtually every media outlet reported this action as a major breach in the ceasefire that had begun on January 18th: Associated Press, CNN, Fox News, CBS, the New York Times, The Washington Post, the LA Times, the McClatchy Newspapers, etc, all pinned the resumption of violence on Palestinians.

There's just one problem. Israeli forces had already violated the ceasefire at least seven times:
  • Israeli forces killed a Palestinian farmer in Khuza'a east of Khan Yunis on Jan 18
  • Israeli forces killed a Palestinian farmer east of Jabalia on Jan. 19
  • Israeli naval gunboats shelled the Gaza coastline, causing damage to civilian structures
  • Israeli troops shot and injured a child east of Gaza City on Jan 22
  • Israeli gunboat fire injured 4-7 Palestinian fishermen on Jan 22
  • Israeli shelling set a Palestinian house on fire on Jan 22
  • Israeli tanks fired on the border town of Al Faraheen, causing damage to homes and farms on Jan 24
Yet, Americans who rely on American media for their news on Israel-Palestine are being led to believe that Palestinians initiated the violence (the death of one Israeli soldier) that has now led to Israel's latest onslaught:

History is being rewriten as we speak but the palestinian people live in peoples hearts. Thats why persercuting them only strengthens peoples resolve against the zioninst regime. Please note with the exception of small number of people the extermination of jewish people is not wanted. The real evil is not the jewish people(gods people) but the zionist gangsters around the world. Hitler did a grave injustice to take so many jewish lives but many more lives were also lost on all sides taking down germany. The zionist gangsters have a warped morality compass which is why they treat the palestinian people the same as the fated jews of the holocaust. If they could get away with it they wouldn't hestate in exterminating all of the palestinians.

Might is right what ever you can take is yours as long as you have the biggest stick and the biggest mouth to tell all, it was yours anyway.

Todays current events are tomorrow's history.

The "writers" of today are the "scribes" of history.

I wonder how people will see all this 200 years from now?

With the Corporate/Political/M$M complex in charge, who needs enemies?

I wonder if ancient "history" was as they say it was?

(from me)
The merchant/banker elite was not limited to any single border.

yes they were. The bankers were owned by the emperor. You paid your money to the emperor. If you didn't, you were crucified.

You may have it backwards !

Look at today's merchant/banker elite (as "international/borderless" corporations).

Now look backwards all the way to ancient times.

Not much difference in operation.

In ancient times, the "Rulers" many times were installed or corrupted (as debtors) by the commerce elite, or themselves were the elite merchant/bankers.....
(just like today !)

It's meaning is precisely the same as quoted!

Actually, it is pretty much the opposite. Your link was trying to create the impression that the Palestinian leaders don't really believe in the existence of Palestine as a separate entity, and are only fighting....I dunno...because they're evil terrorists and hate Israel under the banner of Pan-Arabism.

2000 years ago the internet didn't exist.

Time creates borders. Instant information flow erodes them.

This concept is very simple to understand, and is what separates the past from the present.
