Yes, it was ironic, wasn't it? I wonder if my generalization could possibly have been done on purpose? Surely not.

You... you did something with a purpose?

Please don't do that again - it will confuse the OWS people. They have no such customs.

An amusing read to say the least. I do wonder what they will come up with next to try and bring down the OW movement. Nothing to see here folks just move along, I say just move along.

But, in the video posted by jibeho, the police were doing nothing. Yet, they were the sole focus of the protesters. If the mission of the movement has changed to the police, for whatever reason, then they should stop hiding behind OWS.

I don't think OWS intends to harass children but I do think they are very unorganized and that could end up causing unintentional harm.
Someone asked in an earlier post why these people didn't take another way to school. They may not have known their route was going to be obstructed until they were already there and they had to go through. But I think the more important question is, why should they have to take another route? I think OWS might want to consider the rights of the 99% they claim to support when they plan future demonstrations.

Um as for your videos .. I see an idiot who brought his kid to a protest.

And people cursing at police.

The first offends me.. the second amuses me.

Put your comment back or not.. your pettiness has been noted.

You define yourself.. have at it.

Petty?
Coming from the person who is compelled to criticize my comments regarding the people depicted in two videos that I posted. The same people you call "idiot" and "jackasses" I suggested they needed a bath and possibly some mental therapy. Pettiness noted. Indeed
Good Stuff

Even if a small handful of protesters did this, how could you categorize an ENTIRE movement that consists of thousands of people?
Not that it would dismiss the actions of INDIVIDUALS, but blaming an entire group? Come on.

Hmmm-you mean like what was done to the Tea Party just a few short months ago on this very site??
The hypocrisy is nauseating...........

Enough said.

I dont know what type of person would do that as IT IS "rude" but.... and this is a big but.. that doesn't mean this is "MY" movement OR derail the fact that this thread DUMPS all OWS types as the "one" guy possibly being a d*ck.

Really? would this mean the people 1-2000ft from where the entrance to the school are threatening "children"?.

Way to lump everything into one pile.

You seem to be lumping it all into one pile by defending it,I was commenting on one situation that involved the OWS movement.

Any people at a school acting out would be a threat as far as I am concerned, especially the one yelling"follow the children".We have people killing kids in schools now a days and you think this is alright??

Another poster that has nothing to do with the OWS movement but defends what they are doing no matter what it seems to be.

And yet, the Tea Party is all catagorized by the left and media as Racist....Nazi.....Fascist.....etc....

Lie.

What media? When? Where? Prove it?
Since you brought them up, the so called TEA Party called for the murder of fellow Americans on a daily basis. That was cool though, right?

I'm sorry... but that is just absolute Bollocks... what an awful, pathetic attempt at making OWS protesters look like the bad guy again.

Really? All of the crap that has gone on at these OWS protests, but, the "OWS protestors" are always innocent. I've said it before and I will say it again. This is a brilliant tactic. With no leadership, no cohesion anybody can get away with anything and everybody else will say "they are not with us". This crap is getting old. What I'm waiting to see and it might happen, is a bunch of people who have had enough OWS crap, decide to Occupy OWS and kick the protestors out. After what happened in Pittsburgh yesterday, it is entirely possible.

Yup, and then we can all go back to watching our 24/7 teleshopping channels and bow down to the government paycheck while gobbling down big pharma's candy. Don't forget about letting the children starve, if you can't get a job then it means you're lazy! Just go work in mcdonalds if you can't get a job... all hail the supreme overlords of the whitehouse, there is no need to defeat oppresion if you are scared of being opressed.

/sarcasm

I agree, this crap is getting old... wake up.

Well, to be fair 1% of those children are going to be the future 1%, so they kinda deserve it.

Kidding aside, I think this may be a BS story. I saw them trying to coerce and lead the kids into saying the protesters scared them. One kid said it was crowded, and the reporter asked if the child was scared, the kid looked confused, then said yeah because it was crowded.

People are scraping the barrel is right. Again with a select "few" story, guess your mind is unable to decipher between a few individuals and an entire movement of tens of thousands on Tuesday alone in one city, whilst the world puts the movement no doubt over the millions mark, and those unable to protest for weeks and months, because well uh, they're working and finding it difficult and can't afford to not be doing something. I know the number of those at home or at work well exceeds the actually number of protesters.

I get the attempts to discredit something, I do, but use your brain, zoom-out a little, look at the scope of people from all walks of life. Your ignorance is letting you become infuriated by one article. As with everything, the select few will always be the select few.

It's something that there haven't been masked molotov marauders or real violence in the numbers. Oh, and just because people are protesting with all their will and can't shave their beards and look like homeless people, yeah, get with it. It hurts my brain, honestly.

When OWS becomes more coherent, when they start to define what they are for instead of against, then the real 99% (the ones working like you pointed out) can make an informed decision about the movement. As it is they are vague, perhaps purposely so. They are also ripe for exploitation, witness the unions who are trying to glom on.
