· King James Version, KJV (1611) - The most popular translation ever produced, this Bible was done during the reign and at the urging of King James the I of England. 47 scholars, divided into 6 groups, worked on this translation. Based largely on the Bishop's Bible, many Hebrew and Greek texts were also studied as well as all the other available English translations, to insure the best results. By choosing men of many different theological and educational backgrounds, it was hoped individual prejudices of the translators could be minimized. Printed in a handy size and in clear type, the KJV was suppose to please clergy and congregation alike. Despite initial resistance, the KJV became and still is the largest selling translation of the Bible.

· Revised Version (1881-1884) - Designed to be a revision of the KJV, the Revised Version, had the advantage of being able to access some of the ancient manuscripts. Although this revision was sponsored by the Church of England, many American scholars were invited to participate.

New English Versions
(1901 to Present)

I must appologize for my 7 or 8 as previousally said. Those are the 3 times its been re-written.

See what I did there? I had a theory... found evidence to proove or disproove it.. and well.. its pointless to explain the rest of that because you wouldent follow any how...

You've still avoided my question...

Don't forget the other 10 times it was altered before a monarch decided he'd choose what his people believed.

I do not condemn anyone to hell they lead them-self their if they choose to die in there sins. The word of GOD says Jesus is the only way and that you need to be born again. Of course GOD gave us all free-will so its the persons decision whether they choose life or death, torment or great joy. I don't know what you mean by "I am a bad example of a Christian" do you know me personally well enough to make that judgement? I haven't even mentioned Hell, the bible or religion unless someone else brought it up or started claiming evolution is the truth. I can tell you and a few others are frustrated, that's only natural when something doesn't make sense to you. If you want me to help you understand why things are the way they are then you can always send me a private message and if you have genuine questions I will be happy to respond.

Sir, this is an off-topic post. Please stick to the OP. Also, provide some evidence for the OP, since it's yours.

I always loved how only specific details of specific theories or math models are extracted and isolated and twisted when a church decides to use "Scientific" evidence to support their tired and worn out bible. Come on, seriously?

In the same note I could say that Drakes equation says there should be thousands if not millions of intelligent species out there in the universe somewhere. (then again I could be wrong since Drakes equation isn't endorsed by christians everywhere, lol)

Truth is that no one really knows until we get cold hard facts, pictures, video, audio and first hand experience with alien technology. There is no "They exist or they don't". There is only "The exist, or they may not". Until we can explore every rock in the Universe, we will never know for certain unless they land on our heads.

PS. Christian science studies are nothing but mixed up and jumbled jibberish they put together in a last effort grab for the Glory the church once held when we were a naive and undeveloped civilization. Still trying to reason "Angels and Demons" as nothing more than magical beings that exist because the Church says they do. Seriously, give up this dying fight to control the masses.

I just have to say, get real.

Of course it is logically possible.

To be exact, LOGICALLY thinking it would be IMPOSSIBLE for us to be alone in this vast, vast, VAST universe.

Stating these kind of things as if they're fact just makes the OP look like some religious zealot with an agenda.

Wouldn't it be nice if science and religion would band together and actually start asking questions TOGETHER? I'm sure there would be many answers found that way since i'm sure the doctrines of pretty much any religion has some form of historical fact in them, obscured by fiction. Combine that with modern day science and technology and we might actually be getting somewhere.

Choose what his people believed? The KJV is a direct translation of the Greek textus receptus a fine one at that.

Did you know before that monarch decided to make it there was no english bibles?

Did you know the catholic church sent guy Fawkes to kill King James in an attempt to stop it being made?

I don't suppose you knew any of these things?

Please think before making assumptions in future.

For those who believe in the fallen angels theory. Stop and ask yourself.."could we be the demons and the inter-dimensional beings be the angels?" Just to flip your thinking a bit.

Do you know why the attempt on King James' life was even made? Do you know why they didnt want it in english?

Its well known that the translations are very inaccurate, as well as, very much open to reader interpretation. How can you call the KJV a fine translation of the greek if it inaccurately transcribes words such as angel?

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.

Just because the universe seems large to us, does not make it large to God.

And Life is what you make of it.

Okie-dokie, if ya say so...

But I have to admit that I prefer sticking to my ideology. The idea of a vast universe teeming with life which all continue to contribute to the great melting pot of experience (which is my concept of “God”) makes for a much more interesting perspective IMHO than the fire-and-brimstone and black-and-white hell-and-heaven stuff.

Thanks anyways for a rather “interesting” thread, and I hope you feel better after having proven your worth to God by sticking with your principles and spreading h/His word, and as such proving your immense dedication and purity to h/His cause.

I on the other hand am off to go and daydream a bit about the very real possibility of our ET brethren chatting to us one day.

Angels (from your bible) arent allowed to interact with humans either..

well, as a fact , WE ARE NOT ALONE. What just means that there are spiritual hierarchies and have ever been.

as a part of that what the OP describes as ´ interdimensional beeings´ together with most of the UFO phenomenon are of spiritual origin, and now are become more ´physical´ beeings.( see UFO lights, aliens that are dissapearing in the air, can go through walls etc..)
And anothoer thing is true. That TPTB are doing their sh*t for a long time and are now on the edge of fulfilling their plans.

Because the catholic church wanted only there corrupted version of the nestle text being read.

Because you say it is? I'm sure the majority of the Christian community would highly disagree with you. The KJV is one of the most popular bibles to date and the word angel is not inaccurately translated, the word angel is in there (I have 3 copy's of this version).

You can't translate a book from hebrew to a western language without losing core meanings of words and sentences.

It's exactly what happened and don't ask me for proof because i don't know Hebrew, what i DO know is that plenty of linguists studied the original and the translation and came to the same conclusion.

If then the English version gets revised a few times... well.. you get the idea i hope.

I wonder how much % of the "translated" (revised) Bible is actually correct use of words and their MEANING in regards to the context they're translated in, instead of just replacing the words with their literal translation and thus changing the entire sentence or even paragraph (depends on the weight of the words).

Think of the age old analogy of a circle of people passing on a sentence from memory and in whisper, and how the sentence changes from person to person into something completely different. Yes it's cliche and yes it's used too much but that's pretty much what it boils down to in regards to Bible translations and revisions.

Angel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For other uses, see Angel (disambiguation).
"Angelology" redirects here. For the novel, see Angelology (novel).
Song of the Angels by Bouguereau, 1825–1905.

Angels are spiritual beings often depicted as messengers of God in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles along with the Quran. The English word angel is derived from the Greek ἄγγελος, a translation of מלאך (mal'akh) in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh); a similar term, ملائكة (Malāīkah), is used in the Qur'an. The Hebrew and Greek words originally mean messenger, and depending on the context may refer either to a human messenger (possibly a prophet or priest, such as Malachi, "my messenger", but also for more mundane characters, as in the Greek superscription that the Book of Malachi was written "by the hand of his messenger" (ἀγγήλου)) or to a supernatural messenger,[1] such as the "Mal'akh YHWH," who (depending on interpretation) is either a messenger from God,[2] an aspect of God (such as the Logos),[3] or God Himself as the messenger (the "theophanic angel.")[1][4]

No, not because I say it is.. because scholars say it is. You say an angle is one of God's children.. everyone else says its a messenger..

It could have been a fallen angel, but not an angel of God's kingdom, as the holy angels are not deceivers.

Not true, I'm unsure where you got this from.

And I didn't see your reply to me.

Where do I get it from? Memory of sunday school with a rapist for a priest.

Angels are NOT allowed to interact with humans... why? Because they are in heaven. Seperate from earth, and not able to contact.

If both angels and demons are in this extra dimension you speak of, then you must have 2 versions of angels....

You still have yet to answer my question about the kings tablet from egypt. And while your at it, tell me why carbon dating isnt valid for you?
