nov 8th, im on the west coast of the UK and about 130 miles in land, can't see the tide yet?

Though JPL's figures may have, probably was out or falsely deflated, since they devalued the condition code, but contradicted there co-ordinates mathematically . I'm 100% sure that this object poses no danger to us at all nor the moon.

less than 1 hour hour to go, no fire in our sky. not to say that these object pose no danger, but i'd only worry about condition 7 and above for reality.

about 15min and I can see the sky perfect with the moon right out back as well. No telescope tonight, I don't think I'll be able to capture and follow an asteroid very well. As long as I don't see it ignite in the atmosphere then tonight will be a very good night! :p

Not trying to fearmonger, just want this debunked as I know zilch about twitting. I saw this on another thread. www.abovetopsecret.com...

Is this somebody's idea of a sick joke???

Pardon my ignorance. The timing of this and the asteroid passing is very strange.

Just a thank you to TomServo, Phage, and mockrock to name a few for the post and replies. I found them interesting, informative, and they give different perspectives in a calm and logical approach.

Just wish I didn't have to wade through all the other crap to find it.

I believe the whole reason for such forums is the freedom to offer alternative thoughts/ideas on generally accepted beliefs. I mean the government and major corporations have never purposely lied to the public or misrepresented the facts before ('___', Big Tobacco, Tuskegee syphilis experiment, etc. so on and so forth).

Check out the following links:

xenophilius.wordpress.com...

Sure you can find more out there these are just some off the top of my head. Anyway the point is it does happen, and forums and sites like this one are a way for the truth to get out there.

Thank you

The asteroid 2005 YU55 came within 201,700 miles (324,600 kilometers) of Earth at 6:28 p.m. EST (2328 GMT) Tuesday evening before speeding off into deep space once again at about 29,000 mph

It passed the earth at it's closest point at 6:28 PM EST, just like JPL said it would. As I type this, it is 6:40 PM EST, and all is well. No impact, no doom, no destruction. I even watched a live video feed of it shooting by.

It's not headed straight for us. That's why your interpolation is invalid. You have to take the path of the object and the movement of earth into account. Objects in the heavens do not obey arbitrary laws that you make up for them.

The orbit of this particular asteroid is refined to very great precision because of radar observations. It will come closer than the moon, but it will still be a long way from either the moon or the earth.
