So Wait....let me get this straight......There's a study that shows that inner city teens are more violent...AND they drink more soda...So it concludes the violence MUST be being caused by the soda???

LMAO!!!!!

Sure, it's not the deplorable poverty, the gangs, or the lack of good adult role models.....Nope it's the Soda!

Soda does not have any real harmful side effects besides damaging your teeth from all of the acid.
It is not the reason why children get hyper nor is it the reason for teen violence.
The reason for both of those comes from crappy parenting and changing hormones. I drank 2 cans of pop a day when I was a teenager and I never had any violence or aggression issues. I was also never a hyper kid.

it does have harmful side effects...some people get the worse case scenario but the many just experience an addiction and their over all health worsens (obesity)

if it damages your teeth..it damages your health

your teeth are a window to your skeletal system

When I first talked about juices it was in response to Blackmetalist saying that her and her children don't drink soda much and drink more juices if anything. I just noted to her that some juices aren't that much better and water was the better alternative, you then replied to my comment, and I responded back yada yada yada. Might want to reread my comments in that context else misunderstandings happen, but can understand the confusion because I didn't click "reply to" button to show I was referring to her post.

yes water is good but just remember to buy purified water...or if you have water purifier then thats good, never buy mountain spring water..either acquire it from the source or purify it
as for soda.. yeah its okay to have one or 3 a week but NOT everyday.. your body cant process the amount of chemicals coming from that can if you drink everyday

I too have gone many many years just drinking coca cola daily, a 2 liter or more a day. So you can imagine how my teeth look. Hell I only have 10 left cause I had the dentist remove alot of them. As far as withdrawels went the worst I had was intense migraine headaches. No vomiting at all. I did stop drinking soda for awhile like 3 months ago but now i'm back to 3 cans a day... I probably shouldn't but I can't help it it tastes so good >.

It wouldn't surprise me if HFCS is one of the reasons for addiction and withdrawal effects. Caffeine is another addicting chemical and people coming off of it definitely experience withdrawal effects. That's why I think they put it in there, it's not because of it's stimulating properties or taste (caffeine at least) its because of its addictiveness. I read somewhere years ago that Canada doesn't put caffeine in their sodas.

Silent? Ask any doctor and he will tell you that soft drinks are bad. It takes 32 glasses of water to cancel out the acidity of
one glass of coke.

first of all the statement you are quoting is not mine i did not write that and secondly i was simply implying that pure cane sugar (organic) is good for you..some of it..but yes juices should not contain any type of sugar only the sugar that the fruit carries

Do you think that we should not drink sugared juices or that they should not be labeled as juice if they contain sugar? If you think the former, what about all the sugared mixed drinks (Strawberry daquiri), punches, and other juice DRINKS.
Also, the cranberry juice you saw prolly said "cocktail" in small letters.

I drink soda all the time, and am more fit than the average american in my age group.
I live in a city and im not violent, and I have several cans of diet soda a day.

As for caffine, well, im a major addict.
I have 4 coffees every morning just to wake up, and usually one with lunch and one with dinner.
