Not near the amount of selection for NA beer, however this is what my mom does, and she love's her NA beer and wine!

Alcohol does have a taste as well. Not saying I prefer the taste over the effect or vice versa, but it's a respectable balance that treats the occasion.

i already knew alcohol was bad for the body...did you know there are alternatives to alcohol?
they use alcohol in hand sanitizer... BAD IDEA
non alcoholic sanitizers work just as well

and as for the alcoholic drinks they do much worse to the kidneys

Not only should alcohol be legal, but every mind altering substance that is currently banned should be made legal as well. All you do by making these substances illegal is concentrate power into a few hands and drive up crime. Spend enforcement money on rehabilitation, it's more humane than throwing people in jail for victimless crimes. If you harm someone while under the influence, there are laws to deal with that (e.g. murder)

Any time someone proclaims "there should be a law", freedom dies a little more.

To the OP, why do you feel compelled to control other people?

So what if you use alcohol in hand sanitizer, you can't drink that stuff, and if alcohol was 100% illegal, many many people would die of infection due to under sanitization.

Also, so what? If you drink in moderation your kidneys will be able to handle it, and so will your liver, as thats what they are designed to do.

All you have to do is look at "dry" countries such as India, Saudi Arabia, Libya etc. India has high domestive violence, divorce and an alarming amount of wives killed by their husbands. Saudi Arabia has domestic violence, human trafficking, 1 in 4 children is abused; Libya has many of the same problems.

Japan allows alcohol and doesn't have near the crime rate the US has.

Here are some statistics:

According to the INTERPOL data, for murder, the rate in 2000 was 1.10 for Japan, and 5.51 for USA.

For rape, the rate in 2000 was 1.78 for Japan and 32.05 for USA.

For robbery, the rate in 2000 was 4.08 for Japan, and 144.92 for USA.

For aggravated assault, the rate in 2000 was 23.78 for Japan, and 323.62 for USA.

For burglary, the rate in 2000 was 233.60 for Japan, and 728.42 for USA.

The rate of larceny for 2000 was 1401.26 for Japan, and 2475.27 for USA.

The rate for motor vehicle theft in 2000 was 44.28 for Japan and 414.17 for USA.

The rate for all index offenses combined was 1709.88 for Japan and 4123.97 for USA.

Maybe it's not the alcohol but the people. Just a thought.

Perhaps religion should be banned for all it's misery and anyone who follows ANY god should be put in prison... just think of all the wars, beheadings and suicide bombers it would prevent

Dont even get me started on religion. That has caused more wars and death than anything ever. Nothing more than a really organized gang imo. on topic, Im all for one killing himself, but when it affects so many lives, thats where I draw the line. Sorry. But, who the heck am I to have an opinion? go figure

And I'm all for people having an opinion, but when that opinion then becomes action and starts to infringe on my personal rights to do as I wish my my own body in the privacy of my own home, then I'll put my e-foot down!

Opinion en masse becomes an agenda, which then becomes a lobby.

Prohibition caused far more harm than any relief it sought to create. And today it's covered up under the war on drugs. More harm comes from pushing something into an illicit arena than it does keeping it in the broad light of day.

Your opinion appears to me to be that if one person does it, then all might do it, therefore if I want the one person arrested, I want them all arrested.

That's not going to ever be acceptable to all but tyrants.

Also, People will drink no matter what.
However, when people are transporting a bottle of wine from the store home, it is a lot safer than sombody crossing the country to traffic wine with armed gaurds in the car.

Are you serious. Do you really think drunk driving will go away with the banning of alcohol? Drugs are illegal and here to stay, another prohibition and the drug dealers will have a new product to peddle. Turing America into an Islamic anti alcohol state will just trash what's left of Americas constitution and freedom and empower the underworld and illicit black markets.

And for the record while I was In Iraq alcohol and pornography were banned out of respect for the Muslim culture which resulted in us getting booze and porn from sources in said muslim culture. Hipocracy!

Whoa! easy there...

Beer is delicious, just not that cheapo domestic stuff.

Ive even had imported stuff from germany and other places in europe, and it all tastes like horse pi** to me.

WINE on the other hand...

Brew your own, man... Then you can venture off into Meads or Apple Ciders if you like the more winey taste.

And once you start, you wont stop, I guarantee it...

Heck, make your own wine if you really have the time - and if you do a good mead, then you have the time

Home brewed beer can taste like whatever you want it to... so many ideas at your finger tips and there is no tax man, no 'alcohol scene' etc etc.

Then if you law permits, you may even try you r hand at distillation... but my first attempt at that has so far been my last, too hard to know where you stand with it from my limited still experience.

But it's a damn great hobby!!!!

That is also the theory of the majority of people. It's pretty blatant as to why it isn't illegal, and you've pretty much averagely summed it up.

Sorry in all my ramblings I forgot to mention I think it should be ILLEGAL, sorry for the mistake

Stop imposing your moral shortcomings on the rest of the world.

If I choose to brew my own beverages or distil my own from said brew, it's none of your damn business. Get out of my living space, and sort yourself out.

You do not control me with your thoughts, so your opinion that a vice should be illegal is nothing short of you wanting to control me and my actions, when they have nothing to do with you.

Some people get away with molesting kids. Just get out of their living space.

Find another thing to do besides drugs buddy legal or not.

Nope, I like my hobby, and I like the benefits of it.

And don't ever try to equate my hobby with child molestation again, pal.

Oo actually there was a case recently of some prison in the US, where the inmates nicked a load of alcoholic hand sanitizer and made pruno or some sort of hooch... were found intoxicated and now they use non-alcoholic hand sanitizer.

Just goes to show, prohibition fails when the mind will do what it wants...

Here here! Government Regulation is the road to tyranny! Ha la tha is right. Get your regulations out of my home. Let the tyrannical regimes of Africa and the middle east and Asia stay there. America has recently been taking too many pages out of the books of the worlds most regulated totalitarian socialistic states. Please note that the worlds drugs and criminal organizations flourish in places like afganistan, Mexico, Russia and china.

Reminds me of the Drew Carey show, Buzz Beer, they used caffeine in the brew..

35% beer? Man you sure? That's spirit abv, can't occur naturally, yeast wont live beyond 9% max in a beer yeast, and 18-20% in a turbo yeast with nutrients that make it taste like sump water!!

Could be a liquer! Hmm, sounds like it'd beat Old Baileys in a pinch !!

You're not in prison where there is no other means to get plonk... that's the point, you said you can't drink hand sanitizer, but in fact there has been cases of people who have in situations where it has been outright denied them. IE; prohibition.

Prisoners, mind you... who would also likely chug on listerine if they had no other means.
