It's just so disturbing--the rage and the assault. She said that she put the camera on because she could tell from her past experience that things were escalating. Sure enough...

She has cerebral palsy, but appears to be doing quite well. She's very articulate.

She said that she has a very close relationship with her mother now so I hope that helps with her healing.

Thank you for clearing that up...I have been told that it was a learning disability...now I know the facts. Man...how does he expect for her to just lay on the bed...etc...she has a physical condition that makes it hard to move your body like others. And how he is handling her...I am sure he left bruises on this poor girl...and the yelling in her face part is the worst of it all. Disgusting.

in my opinion, for a parent to get really worked up on a kid looking at the internet, seems kind of childish and very left-brain mentalistic.

I'm I the parent? No, on either side.

I'm I the victim? I'm watching the victim getting beaten unreasonably.

What can I do? Find out the kid's name and be a support to her.

Why? Because it's is the right thing.

You might say it's not my business, but it is when a friend is hurt. If that kid is hurt, she needs to tell her friends the truth or else she is in a world of hurt.

There is no excuse for this behaviour, none.

If you need to go at it and whack your young daughter (disabled or not) for this amount of time and with such aggression then you're pretty ******* sick in the head.

If you actually beat your kids... you have issues.

There are better ways to discipline your kids than physically assaulting them.

If this guy had done this to an adult who happened to "annoy" him, he would be in jail for assault.

But no, he did it to a vulnerable young girl who was in his care....

Big ****ing man,

I'd kick his ass if I saw him do that.

Yeah, and after he left the room he keeps coming back...that man has some serious issues...and this is only a hint of what goes on behind closed doors.

But if someone was following you (or anyone) around 24\7 filming everything how many episodes would there be like this? I am sure we all have at least one on us.

Um no...I have never beat my kids. Now...the 24/7 how things I'll be honest and say I would get some speeding tickets...probably get called a B*&^%, get caught picking my nose, and what about the bathroom...how would that work out?

I have never "beat" anyone but I don't know if i would call that a beating. I have had a few run ins with my brothers that looked similar to that though and the camera amplifies the sound of the belt since those cheap hand held cameras crank the volume (on auto) during silence and don't react fast enough when a loud noise comes in.

I dont agree with what happened but i know i can take a few whacks like that no problem with a pair of sweat pants on.

Well...if it would have ended with a few whacks...but he kept coming back for more. There was no need for him to handle her like that, and over the internet? We may not know the whole story, but, this was WRONG! He pushed her, degraded her, beat her arms, legs, and that whack at the front...that hurt. Then he tells her "I'll spank you in the face." I don't agree with it at all. With her being a young woman...let the mother handle that.

I still say the overwhelming majority have similar things in their closet they just don't get caught on video. Your seeing someone at their worst and if our worst was filmed and put on the internet we would all be very embarrassed.

I dont condone what he did and don't know these people from a hole in the wall, but too many parents just don't care what their kids do either.

How do you know what we saw was Dr. Adams "worst" He may very well have a pattern of abuse and was just finally caught. That's my bet.

If you don't condone what he did...why are you continually making excuses for him?

And yes we may have things in our closets but rarely is it child abuse we saw in the video.

I don't know if that was the worst, just like i don't know what your worst is because, most likely, it was not recorded. What is on the video looks bad but it looks worse than it is, especially with the kid screaming before anything even happened.

Did you ever get hit with a belt over sweat pants?

My view is never strike another person under any circumstances but this can be somewhat different in that if you don't learn while you are young the world is really going to kick your ass and MUCH worse.

There is no such thing as an unstable person at there worst, maybe that was the worst he ever acted. That doesn't mean we ignore the fact that he is clearly unstable, and capable of doing more and very well may have done more afterwards.

That video displays the characteristics of an abuser, the divorce proves that it wasn't just a 1 time thing. Which just further backs up the fact that he's likely not very stable. He's not psychotic by any means I don't mean completely unstable, but he clearly has rage problems.

If we are to assume this is him at his worst I think thats only more reason to get involved(Assuming this whole thing wasn't a thing of the past) because it shows maybe we can intervene BEFORE something worse happens.

This video tells me that father, and mother, need help almost as much as the kid does/did. He may be an abusive bully but that doesn't mean he wants to be that way, like soooo many before him.

This is a terible act of cowardice and control. I'm glad that his daughter, after seven years, finally had the strength to release this tape.

So it's your view to learn about the world by being abused by a parent. Do you realize how sick that sounds?

Stop making excuses for child abuse!

This wasn't about teaching your child a lesson so they can grow to be better adults, this was an expression of rage. It was very disturbing to watch how eager he was to jump in again when his wife had the belt. He had to go get his own belt!

Kids do not learn respect when they are treated this way. They learn rage, fear, resentment, and self loathing.

It does not surprise me that this man (excuse me, dog) is a judge. Bullies are attracted to different forms of law enforcement.

I think every politician, judge, cop, and government official should have a webcam running 24/7. The people telling us how to run our lives should have to prove they have the moral merit to earn that right.

And for all of the one uppers that had it so bad they feel justified in saying this is ok, it's incredibly sad that your experience has not taught you empathy. Let's hope the children you beat can break the chain and choose to not cause the pain and humiliation they had to endure.

Couldn't agree more. Especially the end of the post. I even brought it up earlier when everyone kept saying she probably acts out a lot, essentially saying she deserved what she got. Made me wonder how many of them still blame themselves for the abuse they went through. I know back when I blamed myself I would have looked at this video the same way many of them do. Its a shame the abuse still has a hold on so many of them.

What?

The kid was not screaming before being hit?

The kid started screaming when the assault started.

It doesn't "Look worse" on video.... it looks exactly the way it is.

It is child abuse, it is a physical assault on a child by an adult, who will not stop hitting.

Even if she was screaming before anything happened, she would be screaming because she would've known what's coming.

I'm not gonna watch it again to find out though.

Peace

I've seen my share of abusive parents over the years. I had a friend when I was about 14 years old. His mom would get drunk and start whaling on him for no reason. She pushed him down a flight of stares and he broke his leg. He ended up living with his grandparents.

I had another friend who's dad use to beat the tar out of him. It was pretty bad he was terrified to go home. I use to let him hide at my house but eventually he had to go home. He ended up shooting someone and killing them. I have no doubt it was a result of the abuse had gone through.

Another friend of mine his dad use to beat him with a belt. At age 16 he was 6'4". One day his dad started beating on him and he grabbed the belt away from his dad. He told his dad you ever hit me again I'll knock you out. I kinda chuckled when he told me this one because his dad is 5'9". I could picture him saying it.

On Wednesday afternoon, William Adams was temporarily relieved of his duties for the next two weeks, and a visiting judge will take over his caseload while the matter is being investigated, according to the office of Aransas County Administrative Judge Burt Mills.

Adams continued: "In my mind I have not done anything wrong other than discipline my child when she was caught stealing. I did lose my temper, I've apologized. It looks worse than it is."
