OP I've often wondered about Halloween myself. Why is it the one day some parents throw caution into the wind for their children, the rest of the year, "they tell their wee ones to not talk to strangers or accept any edibles from them? The honest truth most folks don't know their neighbors names much less their dispositions regarding children so how is it possible a parent can trust this way?

Its 6.25pm here and i am sick to the back teeth of trick or treaters already.. It has only become big here in the UK over the last 10 years or so and am quite pissed off with being virtually mugged at my own front door..

I dont like halloween, do not celebrate it and dont want little beggars at my door trying to fleece me.. Piss off ffs!!

Some of the trick or treaters are 15, 16 ffs!

Go away!

Curtains are now drawn, not answering the door, and mommies little begging twunts can just look cute in their costumes elsewhere!

Humbug!

Could you calmly and rationally explain what your issue with Samhain is?

I agree. Don't be "that guy" that has to drag serious into something that should be fun. It's self defeating.

Are you serious? It's the biggest Satanic holiday of the year, complete with thirteen days of build-up. The spring equinox has it's Aril 19th events, leading up to Beltane, and here in the fall is the second batch of "holidays".

I'm looking beyond the usual plastic and Wal-mart costumes here, that is.

Dr. Parks writes, "Many of the people are saturated in demonology with demonic spirits and are already in control of government establishments, militaries, religious organizations, financial systems, educational institutions, etc. These spirits are superior and receive their origin in Satan and are under the powers of the familiar spirits (spirit guides) that work divination and will only impart power to those totally yielded to obedience and in every obligation required by Lucifer.

Witches, druids, wizards, magicians, sorcerers, pagans of every breed are in high mass, tribe and clan leaders are calling a reunion in the supernatural realm. These are Sabbaths to the worshipers of Satan, "people in the occult," and they take these days very seriously.

Christians should begin to pray for their families, church leaders, and cover the children with the blood of Jesus and the protection of God during these days. There is no question that human sacrifices are occurring. Bind the powers of darkness and lose the power of God according Matt. 18:18. (There are more than two million children missing every year. Many too young to run away. At least 7,000 are found dead every year).

Dr. Parks says, "The highest Sabbath mass is the eve of October 31. This a time of proclaiming powers for control and leadership in the Satanic realm world systems. There are blood sacrifices offered up to the god of Baal worship, the sun god Ra, and to the goddess of fertility Diana.

Christians should begin their defensive spiritual warfare weeks before Halloween. Witches begin their preparation on the 18th day of October.

"On the 18th day of October, faithful followers of evils spirits gather for 13 days before the eve of Halloween of Sabbath. During this time they offer sacrifices (human or animal) to the god of the spirit world, Satan. These sacrifices are to obtain spiritual power. All the followers must give a blood sacrifice; some give their own blood, others offer an animal's blood, the more power they want, the greater the sacrifice.

"There is every conceivable type of orgy happening from the 18th until 31st October. Disembodied spirits loosed from the bodies of animals are being vied for by spiritualists, witches, druids, wizards and Satan worshipers. All of the corrupt evil wickedness and vile filth one could imagine is happening. Something is happening in the open, but most of the spiritual activity is well guarded from every corner of the earth at the command of the Lord Druid. "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:1, 11.

It's not all that fun & friendly. Here, read on, read on, read on :

Thanks, I almost forgot why many hate Christians. Samhain is a "Pagan" holiday (for lack of a better word) .. Celts didn't believe in "Satan" ... so making it a "Satanic" holiday is pretty freaking stupid. Of course anything that doesn't resonate with your rigid Christian beliefs very well may be "Satanic" .. though how someone can unknowingly worship an unknown deity is truly an oxymoron.

He quoted a demonbusting site. I would just leave this one alone with cross and priest and reruns of the Exorcist.

I must admit I never did get British humor. Maybe you just didn't get my sarcastic American response to your sarcastic English post.. two cultures collide in a sarcastic episode that could rip the very fabric of the universe!

Please don't say you hate Christianity. You hate some Christians. But by saying you hate Christianity you are giving them reasons to distrust us, you are confirming their views of us, you are spreading unnecessary anger, and you're giving all Pagans a poor name.

The myths of contaminated candy are just that...myths. There are no documented cases of children being poisoned or finding needles in their candy. The halloween scare that wasn't so funny.

And crime is at a 30 year low, things are not worse. You can look at crime records from 100 years ago, and they are the same crimes. Nothing has changed.

And the last thing the US needs is someone advocating that people take away the last day of the year that we actually go to see our neighbors.

Actually, I've found candies opened that have been injected with things, and needles in packages and once in an apple.

Because most people are fine. Most people aren't crazed maniacs - I say that as someone who has met a number of crazed maniacs. Most people are perfectly nice human beings.

Reminding people of this on an evening of dedicated to sterotypes and terror is actually very amusing.

It would help if moderate, reasonable and understanding Christians at least tried to speak above the din and clamor of the Christian zealots hell-bent on demonizing anyone who disagrees with them..

Oh, for goodness sake !

Does absolutely everything have to be destroyed by Political Correctness ?

Halloween is a bit of harmless fun. Why on Earth would some weirdo poison some sweets ? That's about as likely as someone poisoning food which is handed out to a homeless person in a soup-kitchen at Christmas.

Stop living in a perpetual state of fear and paranoia, people !

What about those who are not fine and normal but may look it? Just a thought.
