The press was tactful in one of thier descriptions of the offending comments that Cain said to one of the women about her "height" and how it was similiar to his wifes height and held up his hand to demonstrate her height....and commented on the "advantages of that height"..

Guys know this joke well, it has to do with oral sex..."she's the perfect height", but while I have had guy friends make the crude joke often amongst the company of guy friends, to say it directly to a woman and then apparently follow it up with an invitation back to his rooom? His idea of seducation looks to be direct and crude.

John Edwards was accused of cheating on his wife in an extramarital affair. That doesn't come close to sexual harassment. Even the Clinton scandal was mutual between two consenting adults - Cain on the other hand appear to be harassing women under his employ and then paying them to go away if they complain. He's up to three now, how much you wanna bet there's a 4th, 5th out there?

Yeah, it makes you wonder how many are really true, and how many are cases of "Hey I was in the same room when he make an off-color joke".. You never know when there might be a few bucks involved in it, eh? Might at well toss your garter into the pile...

Admit it -- you don't even know what the specifics of these so-called incidents are, so stop playing judge, jury, and executioner.

My concerns here are that:

a. He allegedly harassed 3 women, showing a general disrespect of women, if true.
b. More importantly, he tried to weasel out of the truth by lying to us. As has been said, if he came clean, he would have been forgiven for an indiscretion or two. But lying takes a LOT more to forgive. He's lost any respect I had for him, which wasn't much, but still... There are going to be women and men out there who will not forgive that.

A true gentleman knows how to operate in the world of romance and seduction without being charged with harassment. I personally enjoy the company and affections of a number of beautiful women, and have never had any complaints.

We do know SOME specifics.

There were two charges of sexual harassment against Cain
One woman received a year's salary and was put under an NDA regarding the circumstances
Cain WAS aware of the settlement and lied to us, saying he wasn't.

Those are all the specifics I need to make the judgment that he is willing to lie FIRST instead of coming clean and admitting that he made mistakes. So, yes, we are playing judge, but not jury and executioner.

Right now, I'm nothing more than an observer, watching Cain tie himself into further knots.

To make my post useful.....If Cain simply had a raunchy sense of humor like myself, I would be OK with it as long as he understood when it was appropriate and when it wasn't...between a man and woman in a professional working relationship? Nope. Secondly, seeing as each of these complaints indicate that the humor was followed by an invitation to his hotel room or apartment...it looks to be one part humor, one part harrasment, one part infidelity.

You're mature and well-read. You understand that payouts happen all the time, and are not an admission of guilt. They are a way to avoid lengthy legal and expensive court battles in the public eye.

It's axiomatic that people remember only the bad in most cases. Joe Blow gets accused of rape. Acquitted after 5 years of court battles and appeals. Ruined. Yet when asked, people will NOT say "There goes Joe Blow, he was found not guilty of that rape charge." What they remember is "Joe Blow... didn't he rape some woman?"

Grifters know this, and will not hesitate to cash in on these guys.
