I do not understand why so many of you decide to talk down about these men and women who are finally taking a stand. You sit in your happy little houses and complain about how much the government is screwing you but you will not do a damn thing about it. You will continue to slave for the government and will die for the government. You know what... I would die for this country, but not for the corrupt government. I would gladly die trying to defend or improve this country but i will not die for the asses on capitol hill. I would love to be a part of occupy wall street. I respect them in the utmost. I do understand that some of them are just looking for trouble or something to do but many of them actually care about what happens to this country. They are more patriotic than any of you will ever be. These people are the true american heros.

OWS is an American thing.

It's ok if you don't understand.

OWS people are NOT a group of losers who are trying to blame someone else for their failure. This could not be further from the truth.

CBC and numerous other media and even posters on this site have shown that-

OWS people have jobs.
OWS people have money.
OWS people are smart.

So why are they there?

- Some are driven by envy that they don't make big bucks and have to make do with an average life in an average house with an average-looking piece of skirt to bang each night.

- Some are greedy people just hoping for the same sort of big handout that the banks got.

- Some are civil servants who know that the gravy train of fat salaries, big pensions and early retirement for employment with no work will soon halt unless they can point the blame away from a bloated public sector and onto someone else.

- Some are politico wannabees, seeking to use OWS as a springboard to a carrier in politics.

- Some are thugs, looking for a chance to beat the # out of someone without consequence when it turns into an inevitably nasty confrontation.

- SOme are professional victims who enjoy the thrill of getting whacked.

- Some are people who like interfering in other people's lives, the sort of folk who have used the Anti-Social Behaviour Order Legislation to string up civil rioghts there with thousands of petty ASBO's that make everyone's life hell.

- Some are celebrities like Michael Moore, looking to get some cheap publicity to get bankrolled a few more million for appearing in another film.

- Some are journalists looking for a story adn a Pulitzer prize.

- Some are greedy bankers themselves, turning up to chant slogans against their own actions so as to absolve themselves of any backlash by having "been at the protest".

REAL HOMELESS and JOBLESS PEOPLE are extremely unlikely to join OWS. If you lived in daily fear of having burning gas poured over you as you slept under a bridge or being beaten up and blamed every time there's a theft in a store, would you really try to piss off the Police by camping out in Wall St? C'mon, people, the ACTUAL HOMELESS AND UNEMPLOYED are far too busy trying to find food and shelter each day to waste time on this CARNIVAL OF THE CLOWNS/

Believe me, I spent 22 weeks living on the streets a few years ago.

OWS IS NO KENT STATE UNIVERSITY PROTEST.

It is a deep insult to their fallen to suggest that they have anything in common.

Kent State University was a peaceful protest against the authorities by well-meaning people.

OWS is an aggressive mob against private persons, none of whom have suggested that they, in any way, have the ability even to seek election to run the nation. These are the tactics of the schoolyard bully and they should be treated as such.

OWS is there to occupy, just like the US is doing in Iraq. To occupy is to seize and exclude for use by others and to do this to private business, to disrupt hard working people trying to earn a crust for their families is disgusting and the OWS folk are no different from shoplifters and petty theives trying to openly take someone else's property from them, in this case people's civil rights to a livelihood.

The fact this guy has a voice is scary.

The fact he has a decent following is scarier.

The fact that you got four stars for this is even scarier to me...since you're thinking of Pat Robertson, from the 700 Club.

Take care.

It is GOVERNMENT which did the bailouts and failed in its duty.

It is not for OWS or anyone else to intimidate any individual or group of individual becasue they are exeercising their constitutional right ot lobby for cash.

You have anger with the bailouts, understandable, but you take your case to thos ewho made th epayments, NOT those who you think either have or maybe might have or could have had some dough from the Government.

It is because of the irresponsible behavior of greedy people who work on Wall St and for the Corporations that the government did the bailouts.

The government failed to regulate greed.

Now that the bailouts have occurred there are three options. Pay your share and remain an open society where the government is held accountable to the people or eliminate the tax system all together and have a closed society where the government operates in complete secrecy and keeps the people ignorant and afraid.

The 3rd option is complete annihilation

Which do you choose?

They should be in both locations

Wall street is where the orginal government seat was and it is where the money flows through the markets.

Yes, because cold weather doesn't debilitate people and make them sluggish, it fills them with rage and the desire to cause violence. :shk:

Now the cold weather might make some people bail because it might become unbearable, but the idea that people will turn violent because of the seasons is retarded. We have the right to peaceful assembly, turning violent would mean that we don't have that right. Basically everybody knows that, and that's why the protests have stayed mostly nonviolent.

The only large scale violence that will come from these protests will be from the police trying to shut them down.

i see your definition of a mob goes directly against the first amendment.
here it is so you can familiarize yourself with it.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

do you understand that? i dont think you, actually i know you dont! right to peacefully assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. you should just be happy everyone is only angry at the bankers and crooked politicians and not just the moronic of the citizens. because when or if that day comes you might wanna dead-bolt your doors and start boarding your windows because you are the reason it has come to this.
you and your stupid blind faith.

Read your history. Kent State Started out peaceful and ended terribly because the protests were infiltrated by a non student radical element. They burned tires in the streets, broke storefront windows, burned the ROTC building and then cut the fire hoses and pushed the firemen back who were trying to put that fire out. The building burned to the ground completely.

There is plenty to learn from Kent State. Give it try before you make statements like that. Study the events in Chicago and at Northwestern University prior to Kent State. There are connections between the two. (The Weathermen, The Weather Underground, SDS, RYM blah blah blah. The Chicago 7,

With the winter approaching there will be a dramatic drop in motivation to take it to the streets.

What I've seen from years working in mental health nursing, and from what I saw in Highschool- it was always late May, June when the violence went up.
IF there was any in winter, it was usually the homeless TRYING to get comitted so they'd have someplace warm to stay. I don't think that would apply.

I worry more about people getting really sick- an outbreak of a bad flu, tb, pneumonia- a number of infectious problems from crowded conditions and environmental stress.

This is, of course, UTTERLY IRRELEVANT - These people are NOT PETITIONING GOVERNMENT, but hounding and intimidaing private citizens. This is nothing but a MOB and needs to be swept away with whatever tough action it takes. And I deeply condemn the Police for just standing by and doing squat. These guys should be bounced straight out the Police Depts.

The OWS crowd are all paid by George Soros.

There's an Agenda they wish to accomplish. He's going to triple his money with what unfolds. Watch where his money is.

The OWS idiots are pawns, they don't even know why they are there....they just know they are getting money for it.

OWS is going to end up either of two ways:

1. Atlas Shrugged
2. Bloody with the possibity start of a civil war

For those who scream for revolution make no mistake of what your calling for flat out murder of your fellow American over money which makes them no better than some thug knocking over a 7-11 for 5 bucks and some change.

That's what it is either or hell even both which will create a crisis and the Administration never letting a good crisis going to waste will implement Nationalization which will be no different than we have now a small elite calling all the shots and running this country into the ground.

They should be protesting those Millionaire Congressman who has made every law in the nation for decades and there sole function has become to write laws everyday to "fix" problems they created with the sole means of grabbing power and control.

People talk greedy right and left here literally but it is the greed and stupidity of this nations Government that has led us to the current state of the union.

All in the name of social engineering nay all in the name of Humanity and there is the Government with it's foot ready to snap your neck of the masses they don't see it they never will the tunnel vision has it target set and will not yield until it destroys that fictitious viliain.

Buchanan is right it is going to end very very badly for all of us.
