Lol yea cause nobody knows how to get clean water in this day an age, they all get it from coca cola lol, we need corporations like we need herpes lol

Are you serious?

MOST of the water in a city is made potable. Without the treatment plants MOST people, including the poor, wouldn't have safe drinking water on demand.

Theft is theft. If a corporation steals from the little man, or the little man steals from the little man. I have to say, i met some OWS people, sitting on there iMacs, b@#ching about corporations and outsourcing. I asked them where the iMac was made, and they said... "Well that's different, Steve Jobs was one of us!". Yup, they have just as much money as he did. Guess they are not hypocrites afterall.

Right on. Exactly. I didn't touch on that part of his OP because it was actually just so absurd I didn't know how to approach it.

Right on, back to you. Sometimes it's not worth the energy because it's so absurd, but I couldn't let this one go....not when it's clearly a bunch of malarkey.

It's splitting hairs I guess. Maybe they call the water bill a tax, I really don't know. I been a country boy all my life, I never had to deal with that kind of BS like paying for water

What is the principle guy?
That when people are thirsty you can't let them drink from a garden hose spigot?
An amount of water that costs virtually nothing.
I hope I am never like any of you that think this is a big deal. You are everything I hate about society.
Not too mention you are all fools that have been sucked into this b.s. It is obvious anti OWS propaganda, by a guy who for some reason feels compelled to discredit them.

Principle? That is so stupid.
I can tell you for fact, that where I am from in Kentucky, no one would call the cops over something like this.
The only payment they would ask for is a few minutes of conversation with the guys on the lawn. Most of you people are too jaded to enjoy life. Oh no they took a quarters worth of water, maybe i can put them in jail! Rather then talking to the guys and having a good conversation.

I apologize for annoying you with facts.

And clarifications.

But education is NOT FREE.

It is paid for by people out of their pockets. Usually out of a taxable percentage of their home value. If someone pays for it, IT ISN'T FREE.

There may be free access, but it isn't costless.

Water isn't free for the same reasons. Now, if you want to home school your kids and build your own well system and clean out your own sewage, as well as reclaim any unusable water then by all means, once you're done paying for all the equipment it should be free.

I can't believe the posters who are defending the kids who stole your water.

If it was their water or property that was being stolen or used, I bet 100% of them would be angered and call the police.

Sure....if they were petty, sissy-la-las, they would.

you cant believe so many on this site believe in principle?

and what about the principles of empathy, and a little understanding for two people who needed water?

Is it really bad enough to call police about?..

Turn the water tap off during the protests if it is that much of a concern..

No way. Most people aren't so whiny as to think the police are needed over every little incident.
Also most people would just allow them to take water if they needed it (especially since it costs only pennies).

I can't believe there are actually so many people on this site that agree with OP. He called the police over people filling a water jug from his spigot while he was out.

That's insane. Show a little compassion guys.. and then if you still don't like what is going on, then show a little back bone.
edit on 28-10-2011 by GogoVicMorrow because: (no reason given)

It isnt about them having water. OP said if they had asked nicely then he would have given some to them. Instead, they tresspased on his property and stole it. Why should someone have compassion for a pair of theives? Who knows what else they would have done if OP was out?

And if you dont understand what principle is, or what , in this case, it is...........

Then id say thats pretty unfortunate for you

Yeah the nerve of people charging for water just like the nerve of that dude who taxes carbon now yet one is wrong and the other is "right".

Go fgure it's always political ideology when you get to the bones of any issue.

Haha.. no all you are capable of are weak deflections from the direct argument I am serving you.
You have no foot to stand on.
I gave you a nice lengthy reply and you give me a weak attempt at an unfounded insult.
Get your game together and come back at another date.

My god are you people reading his post? HE said he would have given them water had they asked........but their ATTITUDE is what made the difference.......

Where was THEIR understanding of a man being POed because THEY were stealing something from him on HIS property?

I love how you guys are trying to make the OP the bad guy when the OTHER PEOPLE are the ones breaking the law.....

my god man
