Ok, although I am a non believer, I do understand that everyone has a right to practice their religion of choice. That being said. Hey! Muslim students If it sais Catholic University don't go there and start rocking the boat. Change schools and stop being a pain. What do you think would happen if a Christian tried to enrole in a....I dunno....Hasidic Jew School for example. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't even be alowed to enrole. But for the sake of argument let's say he got in. What would happen he he started to bitch and moan about, "their are too many stars of David here"...."I feel opressed" Of course you do...you don't belong!!. Don't get me wrong. I don't have a problem with the majority of Muslims, same as catholics, same as jews, same as what ever other religions there is. I don't care about race or creed because no matter where you look there is always going to be azz holes.

2011 and such ignorance, *face-palm* . . .
Abraham must be turning in his grave.
Has anyone given a thought as to why a Catholic school would
admit Muslims in, in the first place ?

Regardless from which road, which corner of the planet,
neither should be an issue to the final destination.
Abraham knew this. (one God, the creator)
For those that have no clue, Abraham was the founding
father of Islam,Christianity, and Judaism.
A prophet was sent to each as a guide to the same destination.
I realize that not everyone is up on religious studies at ATS,
but to inflame, and spread misinformation to promote hate is
ignorance in of lowest form.
The real enemies of this world are the ones who spread the hate, shame on you.

Abraham did not found Islam his wife Sarah sent th slave woman and her son Ishmael to the dessert because they mocked her age and were jealous so she cast them to the East where they remain today in the hot dry climate. Arabs should be the helpers of the Jews but they only dispise them and their religion does that too while they deny Christ as God's Son although they believe in a person named Jesus. But not one Arab witnessed Christ so we have to go by what a being of light an Angel said unlike the Gospels written by those who witnessed Christ first hand.
Also Bible prophecy predicts the Arab nations will one day bring the end of the world and at the end of age when they set out to destroy Israel, known as Gog and Magog war and Armageddon. So it is not lookin good already as the stage is set in place, all the chess pieces are there and this Arab spring is going Islamic again.

This event at this school the scale is not different from what whole Islamic nations have done and practice today with its country neighbours, almost every Islamic country has persecuted Christians, we should stop it coming here because even at a young age Muslim children have been brainwashed to bring down any sign of anybody elses religion.

Why are you people so xenophobic? The university stated that it is committed to the religious freedom and dignity of all its students. ALL. Not just the catholic ones. They have a right to complain based on that statement by the school. The fact that its a catholic university would only be relevant if the school never stated it was committed to religious freedom and dignity of all its students. You are are failing. Quite hard.

If the university did not water itself down and made more effort about its religious message then maybe things like this would not happen but instead like the rest of Europe they play the tolerance card only for the intolerant to take the whole nation and institution to court.

Do people realise now that immigration is in allowing non Europeans members to come in which is creating a second generation kids within a few years to act as persecutors of our own religious freedoms. I wonder where the real phobia lies with people, from the host country or the foreigners whom they allow to come enjoy clean water, food, lower climates instead of that dessert land and poverty they came from only to take the cross of your faith into court room situation. They too well know about the crusades and have they have grudge about it still and taking down the cross is like the same conquest mentality that started off the crusades in the first place.

To say people are being racist or Xenophobic is not a get out clause because it is a deeper religious historical arguement that has been going on since 600AD upon the world, Christ teaches tolerance and some people just do not want to hear it and they will do anything to try and stop his message, not like their Islamic scriptures about Christian and Jews have an everlasting peaceful message anyway if not quite genocidal if you look into anyway.

But nor do me or other people accuse every Muslim as everyone is individual but the same patterns to do crop up and need addressing, in the Bible God used this example to get people to know God again who have taken his message for granted and gone after other false gods for spiritual guidence.

I wish the truth would come out. All of these religions would really have to grow up a lot more, if they realized that while we've had wonderful Teachers, sent in, they're not always who we think they are, and it never was about the Teacher anyway, but the Source of the Wisdom. But we're called upon to find this Source in ourselves and walk the path within, taking care to find ways to model this without in behavior. One could call these Virtues. One could say this is growing up. Parables and fables should be seen as such. This whole topic is so very odd, and the division here is the opposite of what people would ever do if they were following the Wisdom within.

First you can't force your ideas, you couldn't just enter someone else's house and attempt to force they change their customs to you. So the Muslims are at fault here, the ones doing this. For is not within their rights.

But all of them have failed to look beneath the curtain on their religions to find the truth within, and made the outer props the real thing. If they were really developing the virtues within themselves, they wouldnt forcing anyone in their own cultures into second class roles, such as Sharia, nor would they be removed from the Virtues within other nations, they would find common ground. The philosophers quoted from each other frequently, the Stoics quoting the Epicureans and great minds consider all great ideas belonging equally to themselves, no matter who said this. The uniformity of higher grace is unity.

How about packing them off in crates and send them back to the country of "origin", like that they will never feel offended again.

BTW I am not trying to offend anybody.

But what me and the followers of Christ have to say is that we are not ashamed of his symbols or the cross because they are a good message about his identity like the symbol of the crescent moon is the symbol of Islam in which national flags and Mosques have today, they even have swords as symbols and their fonts even look like swords and serpent things, even the new Libya has adopted the crescent moon for new change. We should teach this message so that people can understand his life because people then were not tolerant of his teachings and he died for our sins and defeated the devil and death itself in the process. The same persecution is evident in a lot of Muslim countries on Christians.

We need to teach that Muslims do not need to commit suicidal acts to reach heaven, because Christ died for us so no need of self sacrifice. Obviously that message is somewhat missing in the Middle East as we have seen the world over but you can only help so much, even trying to help lands people in trouble in its blasphemy laws against his good message.

Instead of a few teaching us tolerant awareness they should learn maybe Christian and Catholicism is not that bad once you study it if not better for society schools and a way of teaching.

I'm so sick about all those muslim complains...
Let's put it other way.
If you would run a striptease bar, and someone would come to work there, let's say as a cleaner, because it's good money; then after a while that person would get offended by the topless waitresses and would sue you, would that be ok? Of course not, I guess everyone would say "it's my business, you don't like it, go work elsewhere" and nod unanimously.
Only because this it's happening at a Catholic school it doesn't mean they can be pushed around by every new comer. This is just like any other business in a specific niche; you don't like it, don't go there. Don't do business with them. What is to argue about that?
This is not even about religion. It's about people thinking they should be allowed to ask anything in the name of their belief.
So for all the muslims out there offended by other people's way of life, I'd say get a grip. Be offended if you'd be hunted down and killed because of your religion, abused and marginalized, if your children wouldn't be accepted in schools and you would have to live outside the city because your different belief. Don't get offended like a spoiled child because the world is not bowing down at you and your mighty god.
Or even better, get offended by the stupid dictatorships in your native countries, that doesn't allow you a decent education and basic human rights, so you are forced to live amongst non-believers if you want a decent life. Go fix THAT, if you are already in the business of fixing the world.

And the problem is not even muslims; it's all the people who, from some mysterious reason think they somehow have more rights and more problems than anyone else in the world. If some government officials would have complained like that, everybody would be screaming that is an "obvious" attempt to erase our rights. But those "poor muslims"..., we must let them have it their way....

We may all be brothers, but we're not in heaven yet; and in this world even brothers are screwing each other; and if you're not able to recognize your enemy, you may have a very unpleasant surprise. This wolf is not even trying to wear a sheep skin, yet every sheep is in love with his beautiful lies.

Most likely, they were polled, asked if they found christian symbols uncomfortable. The majority most likely responded that it did make them uncomfortable somewhat. The spin, since we cant seem to find any other information, was most likely that they "complained" about said symbols.

In my culture other beings, demons and vampires can not stand crosses and Christian symbols because it over powers them, their is a conspiracy against such symbols because it effects the people with a satanic spirit that runs in their lives. The whole Bible message is to defeat such forces that run in the world, not by fighting but through spiritual faith and if people do not like it then the Catholics should know who their enemies are and they will try and infiltrate institutions.
Even if the Catholic university had a Jewish departments it is because like the Bible says, thoughs who bless Israel will be blessed and Jesus was a Jew and not a Muslim in their faith before he was put on the cross, now they have a mini war going on at college over the same old Islamic conquest mentality, can you see how the college feels blessed by allowing these people to run the show now, it has turned into spiritual war they now have to fight to keep their faith alive.

This is silly, I am very much against catholic doctrine, so I wouldn't go to a Catholic school, I certainly wouldn't go there and claim offense afterwards. Why do people try to change what is inherit to the structure, when they know up front what it is.

As a former Catholic school student , who was from a Methodist/ Catholic /Jewish background...I welcomed the spiiritual background of my schooling.

Many Jewish children attend Catholic schools when Jewish educational facilities are not available.

The Islamist parents probably send their children to Catholic schools for the same reasons...no islamist school available close by.

It would be natural though to complain if they are practising Islamists to have to pray surrounded by" infidel superstitions"

Though I believe Islamists pray with their eyes closed but not sure.

Live and let live but be sure you are not killed by those who believe in live and make die..

The whole idea all religions coming together is a recipe to let the conspiracy of the new world order take place, the truth is is that Satan wants to make up for his wrongs but this means demeaning Christ in the first place of his authority and he wants to round up all religions so he can dicatate over everyone at the same time whilst bringing everyone to hell with him if it does not work which it won't anyway.

So by trying to blend a religion or religions that deny Isaac and Christ as the linage bloodline of the chosen he will leave an open argument to make something else up or use one of the false religions to decieve everyone.

If the Devil could he would decieve billions and I am sure billions could fall for deceptive religions in denying the Christ and Islam celebrates the denial of the Holy Spirit and the Son.

The same patterns are warned and written in bible history of betrayers, or the Judas figure or to release Barabas for Jesus, a guilty person for an innocent or a false teacher who corrupts the message of the faith.

Warning: This is second hand from what I saw on the news. I'll try to verify this evening.

It seems that the Muslims at the University are NOT the people behind this. The University states that they have received no complaints from Muslim students at all.

In fact, the lawsuit was not filed by or on behalf of any students and was filed by a law professor from another college.

It appears that this is the work and brainchild of a radical law professor who is happy to take umbrage on other people's behalf and has found a good way to raise his own profile.

BTW, it seems logical that Muslim parents would want to send their children to a Catholic university for the same reason that agnostic, Jewish and Methodist parents would. Because they provide an excellent education.

So it appears political correctness is at it again making us feel guilty and Muslims look bad so that when the Catholics or Christians do respond they fall into the trap that makes them appear as the agressor when they defend their turf, so the whole thing is an arguement made in a circle so each one ends up blaming each other.

Then again even if this story is some what more ambigious then it seems either the media is not precise enough in these stories or there is a cultural clash between east and west which is going to get worse over time and this is just one example.
