I found this article horrifying. I can't imagine conditions so bad, that a mother would cook and eat her own child. A persons will to survive appears to be even stronger than the love between a mother and her child.
God help us all.

If our government was truly concerned about basic human rights being violated, then they would do better to go into North Korea, than to pick on these 3rd world countries. Oh, that's right, North Korea doesn't have any oil for us to steal.

I question the mothers. If I were a parent I would rather die of starvation and loss of limbs to feed my children than eat them.

Unless they were FORCED to do so at gunpoint, I don't understand how anyone could eat their own child. Even so, I would rather be shot.

How long have you served in a North Korean re-education camp? Not trying to be a jerk or anything but that culture is so fundamentally different its not even funny. They are taught that their dear leader has invented everything and is a god.

What pisses me off are stories like this.

All those people who want Bush arrested for war crimes, for the destruction of the US and UK, hatred of the west, all those who claim the moral high ground, yet remain silent on issues like this.

Every time America tries something like that, we whine about how it isn't our problem. Even now we have people on this site who dont like the fact we went into Libya or sent some troops to help fight the group that is causing so much horror in Africa.

Since they didn't even did this in Leningrad... (yet some unearthed corpses to eat them) I doubt this is true.

I think it's propaganda.

Still, those camps are indeed horrible and most inmates in there end up dying.

Remember when the allies didn't bomb the concentration camps? Well this is the same thing.

The world should say ENOUGH to NKorea... release those prisoners or else. Bomb these camps. If little Kim doesn't like it, BOMB HIM (only his palace).

The NKorean air force is a joke anyway, it would be wiped out in less than an hour. Really.

So the propaganda is already starting. Looks like North Korea will be the next target, for the troops withdrawing from Iraq.

There are many stories like this from the depression era USA. Most turn out to be untrue, a rare case where a child starved to death and was eaten after death has probably been more the case.

While I agree that this is a terrifying ordeal for those involved, and a disgusting way to run a nation on the part of Kim Jong Il and his awful bunch of psychotic disciples, I must protest at your statement about Bush and the destruction of the wests moral high ground.

Fact is, that as wrong as North Korean prisons are, the western moral high ground HAS been destroyed over the last decade and more, by people like Bush and Blair, and everyone who thinks like them. The reason you hear plenty about them, is that people generally want the log pulled out of thier own eyes, before they go protesting the specks in other peoples.

Besides which , I would love to know where you have been , because anyone with two functioning brain cells to rub together has protested the savagery and stupidity of the North Korean situation. We should have been fixing that evil little gnome rather than bombing the living hell out of defenseless shepherds with million dollar weapons systems, when the best they can do in response is drop a home made bomb on a desert road, or let loose with a forty year old battle rifle.

A word against North Korea does not equate to a word FOR Bush and his ilk. Forget that line because it avails you of nothing.

Lets focus on the fact that North Korea has to be dealt with at some point. It has to be.

The people of that nation suffer more under the rule of Kim Jong and his idiot brigades, than ever the Libyans did under thier recently deceased arch fiend of a ruler. The situation in North Korea must of course be resolved.For any other scenario to come about , the governments of the west, and the area surrounding North Korea, would have to outright admit that thier intentions have nothing to do with right and wrong, and more to do with money and power than anything else.

Also, the North Koreans haven't any OIL so we'll only read about it ....

Simply due to the fact that If there is something in which to be gained as in Iraq, Afghanistan and/or Libya then we have quite an urgent need to militarily deliver some democracy to their shores.

People think nurturing offspring is automatic. Its not.

Animal studies of animals not raised in social groups proves that.

There's also a tribe (I think in Africa) where food is so scarce - - children are turned out at 3 years old to fend for themselves.

I'm guessing the torture and everything else going on in these prison camps have sent the mothers off the deep edge. I can't say for sure naturally, but we humans can only cope with so much before we snap.

Instead of taking out Gadaffi and Saddam, we need to take out Kim.

Does anyone remember how many years ago the "axis of evol" was spoken of -- THEY HAD TIME TO BUILD BUNKERS AND WEAPONS by now in NK, SMH.

Im wondering how long its going to take before our goverment gets involved in this?..Its appauling to even think about...
