The premise that military actions are taken in order to promote democracy or liberate people is exactly what the military-industrial complex needs the sheep of the world to believe.

I don't think Gaddafi was any different from all the other ego-maniacal war-mongers in our own country like Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush, etc. He played the same game as the rest of the "leaders", but he played a few wrong cards in the game and made himself a target.

You don't mess with the oil or drug supply of the US and its allies, or you get gone. Gaddafi finally overstepped his bounds after all these years of dictatorship, deciding he wanted a bigger piece of the international money-pie.

He didn't think we'd oust him and then orchestrate his murder over some oil and money. Wrong guess.

We helped liberate a country from its dictator, what's wrong with that?

Do you really believe that ???

With great respect , what if one country decided that YOU have a dictator , and to liberate you from that dictator , it will invade your country , it will bomb your house , it will kill your family , it will wash your brain hard enough so everybody will think that way , finally that foreign country it will be your master , much worse than "the dictator" ; everything will be much worse !
But ... you will be happy , because now is democracy , no more dictatorship ...

You're right, USA is horrible, we are the worst people around, we should be eradicated.....It's funny that all you canadians have opinions (that you love to share) but you NEVER do anything about it...If America is so bad, then do something about it and make us stop.....

Why don't YOU do something about your own country's actions?

I already have my hands full trying to push away American lobbying and blackmail on my own government. If you expect me to do something to stop the US, then dont cry when I march into your country with an international coalition of the willing military force behind me.

Give me 20 years. By that time, I'm sure that the 21st century equivalent of WWII will already be on a collision course with global society, and guess who the new Axis is?

Are you suggesting that the world had it all wrong with Gadaffi? Do you believe that Gadaffi was a good man? Do you believe he should still be in power today?

Looks like Bin Laden all over..Bin Laden died from kidney disease in Nov. 2001 Post 911.
I think the men in Black and the Brotherhood have hit a home run with this stunt. Gaddafi has been on the hit list
for most of his adult life. I hope the American people can see the light one day. The Media has been controlled by the alphabet crew since 1951...Called Operation MockingBird..... Semper Fi

Holy hell, what have we become as a "civilization"? Our leaders are executing anybody they dislike without presenting ANY evidence or holding trials (even if in absentia), including U.S. citizens.

Apparently they have gotten Mutassim and executed him.

They've apparently also capture Said Al-Islam. (there are two Saif's) No word.

They've also unseated the government of Tunisia. Just like I said they would.

Tunisia was an elected government.

Yep, that's why they've currently got a really big hole in the garden of the whitehouse, for all the cowards who infest that to hide in when it comes time to reap what they've sown

To be fair, he did slaughter his own civilians because they revolted and he is responsible for the death of many innocent people, including Americans.

Now does that mean we should've stepped in and bombed the country? That's highly debatable. I'm glad we didn't drop any troops in but now he's gone, let the rest of the world deal with Libya. We did our part, let's focus on ourselves now. For once.

They wont capture Said Al-Islam and also i think Said Al-Islam already left libya.
Just saying because i doubt Said Al-Islam is that stupid as Gaddafi.

Oh relax, this will only last a day or two. After the media is done focusing on Libya, it'll focus once again on Wall Street.

The Pan-Islamic Block, being born in front of your eyes.

Al-Qaeda and the "Arab Spring" are unseating even elected governments who are not in line with them.

The Horn of Africa has been promised to the Islamists in return for assurances to corps that they will "stabilize" the area.

You've just been betrayed.

We didn't execute Gaddafi. His own people did.

I have sympathy for anybody that gets lynched by a mob. That's basic empathy. I personally can't remember reading anywhere in the Third Geneva Convention that you could just parade injured prisoners around, execute them without trial, and then drag their body through the streets. I may have missed it... please correct me if I'm wrong.

As for Gaddafi's history. Well, he was in power for 40+ years, and the British were still doing business deals with him in 2009. Tony Blair visited him in April 2009 to talk business. His overthrow and execution had very little to do anything he did in the last 30 months. The whole thing has simply been an opportunity for European powers to gain control of resources. UK oil reserves peaked in 1999, France in the late 1980's. These counties are desperate to establish domination of Libyan oil.

Oh no. I am very unimpressed with my own country in this matter.

We've just been aparty to giving the Horn of Africa to the Pan-Islamists. For a gloss of getting along, they've just betrayed most of us and I and the Americans and the Europeans don't really appreciated just how screwed we just got.

We're all in the same foxhole together.
