No, these threads are like magnets to bigots and haters of all kinds, not to mention the mentally ill and sociopaths. News like this always draws them out.

We don't know who is posting here. Lots of propagandists for evil people post here all the time. Lots of people who hate freedom. People can even post from Prisons and Institutions.

Even though there is a clear video of the revolutionaries killing Gaddafi, they will invent their own version and use it for propaganda and to spread hate. That's what they do.

"not to mention the mentally ill and sociopaths."

Exactly.

News here in Denmark is stating two things:

1. Gadaffi was alive when caught, but apparently wounded. A video shows him leaning against the hood of a car.
2. The same video shows a member of the transition army putting a gun to his head.

The guy was bad, obviously.... but it seems lack of trial and sentence has become the new trend, as earlier seen with Osama. If we continuously fail to act civilized, even when facing uncivilized people, we are lowering us selves.
I guess it.just shows what kind of "heroes" are commanding these battles that they keep lunging themselves into. Could we for once just see a year without fueling the military machine?

Murder, execution, whatever.

Tunisian Islamists just unseated the elected government and are having "democracy building" snap elections. They already had a democracy.

And we've just helped give Libya, a resource rich country, to known Al-Qaeda / Islamists.

His murder is irrelevant to the bigger picture.

When people act from fear and desperation, all bets are off.... I'm not exactly sure how the court system works in Libya, but Id assume that the people who captured him were probably worried he would get away if he was to stand trial..so they decided to avoid that whole process and became the judge, jury and executioner

Not much else to say about this so I'll say it and leave:

We finally got the bastard. Another evil man now gone from the world. Good riddance, rot in hell with Saddam and Osama.

Now Libya and Libyans can be dictated to by NATO instead of Qaddafi. Is this out of the frying pan and into the fire?... only time will tell.

Exactly. Ghadafi, Musahrrek, Hussein, these were all devils we knew, and could at least deal with on a more familiar field. The "new bosses" look alot like the old bosses, except less pragmatic and more ideological.

Do you see?

Do you see how they are trying to make you believe this is one way or the other.

If you don't support that is happening in Africa, then you must *LOVE* Moammar.

Can you see what they are trying to do? They act as if you have to believe one thing or the other. Like you can cheer an Islamist take over of the Horn of Africa as a great thing for humanity OR you can be a supporter of the dictator.

Don't allow these people to dictate the terms of engagement.

He was an awful human being who was better off dead than alive.

If you believe he was killed injustly, please say so, so everyody on this board can realize you're an idiot, and not give credit to any of your future posts.

Anybody who says "well he should've been given a trial", please get the "hell" out of here.

I give my congratulations and thanks to the rebels who made this happen.

I fully agree, this is a lesson to all the dictators in the world especially those in the Arab world, and a huge lesson to American foreign policy to stop supporting these ruthless Arab dictators, because the time of change has come.

regardless of what he did or didn't' do.

i feel really sad for his family having to watch these videos and pictures, really degrading. I would hate to see one of my family members go through that.

Rather kill myself than go through that.

Why didnt they parade Bin Ladens death all over the world with footage? Simply, because it is hard to see a friend go. But, not an enemy. Everybody Wake Up Please.
Hypocrisy in mainstream media prevails again. You fother muckers will get yours eventually. All despots do.
I certainly wont miss gaddafi. But i assure you not a single person will be happy with his predecesor.

I agree that it started as an internal issue, the citizens vs Gadaffi's regime, but once the world found out about how the citizens were being killed and treated while protesting it became an international matter... I will not deny the fact that the US has certain interests that fall in the Libya region so it makes sense that they would be concerned with what's going on over there...

Life is strange.......If nobody would of stepped in and say Gaddafi would of just killed off, or imprisoned all the protesters would that of been okay?

"THE CARNAGE in Syria grinds on: More than two dozen protesters were reported shot and killed by security forces on Thursday and at least 11 more on Friday; a United Nations human rights official said that the total death toll has passed 3,000." 20 oct.
>>>>> NO INTERVENTION AT ALL

"On the evening of 15 February, between 500 and 600 demonstrators protested in front of Benghazi's police headquarters after the arrest of human rights lawyer Fathi Terbil. The protest was broken up violently by police, resulting in clashes in which 38 people were injured, among them ten security personnel.[99][100] " International Criminal Court chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo estimated that 500–700 people were killed by security forces in February 2011, before the rebels took up arms.
>>> " On 19 March 2011 a multi-state coalition began a military intervention in Libya to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973, which was taken in response to events during the 2011 Libyan civil war."

But that is OK ? Just look at numbers ...

We didn't execute Gaddafi. His own people did.

The NTC wouldn't have executed him without NATO's blessing, to suggest otherwise is disingenuous.

Quite clearly he was captured alive. He stands and walks with some assistance. So basically at some point he was executed and dragged through the streets.

Amid the shouting of "allahu akbar" Gaddafi asked his captors with a pleading right hand held up "What did I ever do to you?"
