Enron,

All the photos in your last batch are really good.
Getting the hang of the new camera huh?

I have to say that butterfly, in mid-flight is really great!
Very clear, but the slightest bit of motion blur on the edges of the wings.
Really nice shot..

I'll have to mess around with that zoom technique. Forgot all about that one..I used to do it with my film camera, haven't even tried it on the digital yet..

Slowly but surely....

The manual modes on the camera are so expansive, it's gonna take quite some time...When I'm pressed, sometimes I'll cheat and switch to one of the various auto-modes....But the majority of the images I actually end up liking are the ones I've set the appropriate levels for...

Well - This weekend I've been out of the house and getting some fresh air - Tomorrow I'll be going kayaking - Not risking taking the camera on that trip though...lol

Yesterday two buddies of mine and myself drove to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to watch the Crimson Tide vs. MTSU game....

I couldn't even tell you how many convoys we passed on the roads heading south to the Gulf Coast.....For the majority of our trip - both to and back - they flanked our sides - More relief is on its way thank god...

But spirits were high in Alabama! And I took a full GB worth of photos while I was there....Here are some of my favorites...

This one I played with a bit to make the red seats stand out a little more using selective saturation and an alternative b&w conversion method...

Yeah....I was in the nosebleeds - I had a "seat" at the very top of the stadium, and I do mean the very top...But I just chose to stand...wasn't gonna bother anyone but the birds...

All the die-hard fans were big into their pom-pom thing...Us Seminoles just use our arms

*Does the chop*

The sunset painted the stadium with some very gorgeous light....Given the fact that it was beating down on me with a fury the entire first half, I figure the least it owed me was the opportunity for this shot...

The recently overworked men of Alabama take a break during their security precautions to enjoy a few moments of the game - I tried to frame them within the stadium and the American flag, but it wasn't gonna happen...

This is what an Alabama Wedgie looks like....
- Yowzers....

And I wanted to leave you all with this image....A beautiful sunset, a waving American flag, and thousands of Alabama fans making an enjoyable weekend out of a horribly devastating week...They deserved a good game, and they certainly got one...Crimson 26, Tennessee 7

Oops....Yeah - You might want some action shots, huh? - They aren't the best though, as I mentioned already - they were taken from THE VERY top of the stadium....

From the first quarter...

I've posted these in SportzTawk as well...

15 pages later....

You guys please let us (the photo posters) know if the files are too large or taking too long to load - I understand it's a pain and you want to see the photos, so we'll try and make edits as we go...But to be honest, I never really see any lag on my end, so I wouldn't know - I try to keep file sizes at or below 250K....er...I should try....

At any rate - Here's a few couple more for you all...

This is an African Cichlid taken at my friend's house with the Nikon...These guys don't sit still and they hate the camera - Very difficult to pull off a decent shot...

A sod farm a few m iles down the road from house...Taken at dusk with the Rebel

There are quite a lot of talented photographers here at ATS/BTS. Most of you seem to have a great grasp on composition.

Thanks

Yeah - The original image was in full color - I added a couple hue adjustment layers to maximize the conversion to B&W and then picked out the spots I wanted the color to be restored to and blended them over the B&W...

I used the same process on the image of the blenchers above and my avatar to the left

I must have been visited by the photo gods today, cuz damn I got some good shots, if you don’t mind my saying so

These first three were taken at the Department of Education building here in Tallahassee – One of the few skyscrapers we have…

This one, just down the street at a derelict club…

img372.imageshack.us..." target='_blank' class='tabOff'/>

These two are from my office building – There’s an entryway that’s enclosed by glass windows, which I used to take a few reflection shots…

img372.imageshack.us..." target='_blank' class='tabOff'/>

img372.imageshack.us..." target='_blank' class='tabOff'/>

I think I just got inspired a little more inspired this go-round b/c I actually ventured outside of my normal realm (nature shots) and went urban this time…

We had a family get together today and I promised my niece a little photo shoot

Ritalin anyone? Can't wait until my dad sees this one...

A few of my better ones, including one that I got published. All taken on a fishing trip in Valdez Alaska.....

I've taken a lot better ones than this since then. I was still figuring out the camera on this trip. I'll find some of the better ones and post them later.

Enron, I have to admit that your photos are totally amazing! I like the way you play with the colors on the B/W pictures. Or the new added skyscraper (or whatever it is) pictures are totally stylish man! I think you scanned it from a design/art book....

Patti Wagstaff. One of the top female aerobatic pilots in the world. Those poles are 20 feet high with a cable running between them. They get people to stand on either side of the runway holding them, and she flies upside down underneat them. IIRC she's the only pilot in the world to do this trick on a regular basis.

It's just a Canon C-2100 Ultrazoom. Nothing special added. lol. Just lots of good luck, and good lessons from my brother.
