Ditto....That's a great perspective! Thinking outside the bottle....hehe - Others are excellent as well! Flowers have got to be one of the best subjects for a camera....For some reason, I have a strange obsession with taking photos of dead flowers....

I have a very similar wine bottle picture where I laid the bottle on its side, placed a colored light at the opening and got took some shots from bottom side as the light reflected in....

As I sit here typing this and searching for the photos, it suddenly dawned on me that I either have them at work or I deleted them b/c I wasn't satisfied....You get the idea.....

There are some great pics in this thread. Props to all.

Anyway, I wanted to let all of you know that there is a site that's dedicated to the visual arts, particularly photography. Admittedly, there's quite a bit of dark artwork there, but it's not overwhelming, and if you don't care for that kind of stuff, it's easy to ignore.

Incredible work man - Do you contribute to any magazines? That's some professional work man......Absolutely stunning.....I love that photo called "Denis" - Was the color photo super-imposed over the B&W, or did you color it in Photoshop??

I didn't have a clue about those two sites....I'm going to look into joining them....When I do, I'll post a link to my gallery there, although I'm sure most of it will contain many of the images I've posted here.....

I am just an amateur photographer, but I have been involved in photography for at least 15 years - far FAR from a professional, but thanks anyway!

When I was in Venice I had this very cool 15mm super wide lens that I borrowed from a friend and I used it alot - all of the pictures there were taken with that lens.

About "Denis": The original is in color, then I Photoshopped it, cut the figure out, black&white-ened the background and put the color figure back.

There is another one digitally maniuplated - Bell Tower - the sky does not belong to this photo, but is from another one. The original sky was boring, so I replaced it with a more dramatic one.

Ah, I missed you post..Thanks for the compliment..!
Yes, the sand was very white on this beach, A couple of miles south of Cape Canaveral..needed a flash to get crisper images of the birds..AND to make the background appear darker....

I have a question for any of you...Film scanners...I have tons of pics..on 35mm negs...DO any of you have a film scanner? Or have you used one?
I'm looking for recommendations..tanksalot!

Man! Those birds are gorgeous! It's quite incredible the variety of species we have here on such a small planet....

I posed a similar question a while back, regarding the film scanner....I can't quite remember if there was a response, but I believe there may have been....I'll have to look back and edit this with a link if I find it....

Ugh!!....I really need to go through and sort my photos (and back them up too!!) - I have one folder called "to be sorted" one called "other" and another called "misc".........Don't even ask what my room looks like!

Ooohhh hooo hooo....You know what really pissed me off the other day!!

WTF is that?!?!? What?? Oh no...Not that damn caterpillar!

Oh man...You guys have no idea how lucky that pixel is to have died before I got a piece of him...or her....or it.....
