Like I said, just swap places with the person being discriminated against and it rears it's head. Your argument is actually making my point.

Seems like you're making the big deal here.

The only way I could feel 'offended' by such things is if I swapped places with someone who was thin-skinned and constantly had to warp things in my mind so that they could seem 'offensive'. Explain to me again exactly how those terms are discriminatory...? It's sad when someone makes it their sole purpose in life to nitpick at the most insignificant things just so they can cry 'discrimination' for attention. You're only insulting homosexuals by acting as if they are all as emotionally fragile and vulnerable as you.

The people who demand such subtle changes due to their insecurity are the ones who make a big deal over nothing. You're one of them.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but using Wikipedia as a primary source for anything is ridiculous. It is a website whose articles are readily editable by anyone without regard for their level of expertise.

You can't help it though. So what source would you prefer? Do you really know how Wikipedia works? If anything is incorrect for very long, it's usually spotted and corrected. It's not just some random bathroom wall that people can change and expect it to become fact.

But please, cite a common source you trust to get the facts right.

Why is this even a big deal...and who in the heck does it offend.

The terms mom/dad, father/mother or ma/pa have been around forever.

Some idiot gets offended and another agrees and deems those terms offensive....god..

I am for gay rights, hell I am for anyone's rights...because it in the end it does not effect me...but come on..this is just ridiculous.

I will defend peoples rights to be a homosexual or a lesbian until Earth freezes over. You will never change that. it is people with views such as yours, who destroy other peoples lives.

Except...no one is denying them their rights to be whatever they want. Rather, they are denying straight people their right to be called Mother and Father. I hope you see this, in your blind anger to protect your beliefs, you are denying others theirs.

Dear god! its as if the preceding pages of discussion never happened! The motto is to deny ignorance, it is clear that people are posting not only without reading the thread, but without even reading the preceding page. Either that or they are terminally thick. Either way, i think tha'ts as far as I go, and I never did get the answer to my question on page 6. Well, in a way I did

No, your not.

Eventually we'll have marriages with sheep as well, daughters, sons, sibling marriage...why stop?

Anyone that says that there isnt an agenda at work is a fool.

No they are not, Did you even read any of the other comments posted? There is an image posted on page 2 or 3 it shows you mother/parent1/guardian, etc, so It is not taken away the title of mother or father, so your assumption it is discrimination towards Heterosexual couples is baseless.

Here you go, that all it is, an administrative move, it does not discriminate against Heterosexual Couples.

Gay couples shouldnt have any kids, not because of morality of it but because of the merciless bullying the kids will have to go through in school.

Its extremely selfish to put their happiness ahead ahead of a kids.

I have always said the same thing. Funny story i have a female friend who's mother , is a judge in Florida and that judge made it legal for gays to adopt. Homosexuality is a trend now a days and it's on the rise. What if one day eventually 1 out of 3 people is gay? Humans are weird but...cmonnn...might as well just start cloning each other and stop having kids.

The thread pretty clearly states "Europe", and that's a US application.

Do you have an image of the European Application?

The UK one, which this thread is actually about, will say mother/parent1 and father/parent2. It is amazing that everyone is so worked up about this. It is a non issue. I am incredibly paranoid and I can't even see the evil plot.

If that's true, its because many of those bullies learned that filth from parents like many of the posters on this thread. If I ever have a child, I plan on teaching them that people have the right to choose how they want to live their lives. You don't have to like what they do, but you have to respect their decision.

Certain people will make it an issue. Those that can't seem to handle the fact that their warped, backward beliefs are rapidly withering away into insignificance.

That's rather presumptuous isn't it, and does not sound very respectful now doesn't it? How do you expect respect from those who you are disrespectful to?

Seems rather hypocritical. Just saying.

Seeing as how all this politically correct bull-# is like an unstoppable train, I propose that homosexual men and women have their own bathrooms. There should be Four bathrooms: Heterosexual men, heterosexual women, homosexual men and homosexual women. I mean, men and women have seperate bathrooms due to sexual differences, so why shouldn't heterosexuals and homosexuals be seperated in this manner?

This proposal is on equal grounds as the OP and I wouldn't be surprised if such a proposal was passed by a few, and denied by a majority of homosexuals because most of them just want the attention and benefits.

Ask anybody over 50 what they make of this and they'll say the whole world's gone mad. 2 men, or 2 women, raising a child as a family is unnatural (in my mind), and making any changes to anything on their behalf just goes to show how ridiculous we've become.

Norman Wells, director of the Family Education Trust, got it spot on: “Fathers and mothers are not interchangeable but have quite distinct roles to play in the care and nurture of their children. To speak of ‘Parent 1′ and ‘Parent 2′ denigrates the place of both fathers and mothers.”

Parent #1 and Parent #2 .. This is a joke as it goes against the Majority of the worlds
population and cultural ideals.

However there is a more Sinister reason for the Governing Agents of this Planet
plans behind all of this. They are purposely Winding People up so they can
further Provoke Anger amongst the populace which is, the Majority in order
to Control the future they are so called planning in the illusion.

Let me leave you with two quotes.

I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own. I resign. Number 6 - The Prisoner.

When it gets down to having to use Violence, then you are playing the Systems Game.
The Establishment will Irritate you - Pull your beard - Flick your Face - to make you fight.
Because once they've got you Violent, Then they know how to handle you.
The only thing they don't know how to handle is Non Violence and Humor.
- John Lennon.

Before commenting please read the news article.

The term mother and father are not being removed, but the term Parent 1/Parent 2 is being added to official documentation.

Your child will not be forced to call you Parent 1/2.

You're not being forced to be known as Parent 1/2.

It's just in the case of a passport the option for Mother/Fathers signature will also include Parent1/2's signature if both parents are of the same gender.

Unless The UK is once again an Empire, and taken over Europe
