Well, seeing as this is happening in the UK, no one in the America, that's for sure.

Clearly you didn't read the news, I mean, it even has EU in the link..

How is it going to cost? Paper gets printed every day, I think it takes a second longer to delete Father/Mother and edit it to Parent 1/2, copy and paste and you're done.

Based on what? I've seen enough destructive opposite-gender families to claim all heterosexual families are destructive to society.

Hey, I wonder how it'd play out when the heterosexuals are denied rights and ignored by the governments they're paying for.

The terms will be used on official documentation, parents won't be forced to be called Parent 1 and Parent 2 by their children.

I personally would not call this news myself.

Anyway yes I do know that, it is a waste even if one person in Britain has to spend an hour of their working day rewriting over the words and printing out all the new (same sex friendly? :lol documentation.

I get the irony of your reply, what I dont get is why people are offended at such, well, nothingness?

in a gay couple who are caring for a child, calling them both mum or both dad does not differentiate which person the info on the form refers to, parent 1 and parent 2 gives a specific, in the same way that mum and dad does (and will continue to do) in straight couples. It is purely to allow for this that the choice was made and would not apply to any other circumstance. But with a lot of people the bigotry and hatred is so near the surface it literally takes nothing to bring it all spewing forth.

Just so everyone knows, the word Parent is not going to REPLACE mother and Father. The word Parent will be ALONGSIDE Mother and/or Father.

Nope not a joke, about high time, kids with a two mothers or two fathers get the same rights as every other Couple in the UK to have both their parents on their Passports. Takes away the discrimination against gay couples. You do not have to agree with it. It is happening wither people agree with it or not. And it is not Political Correctness as you put it.

Please explain to me how it is discrimination to simply put: Mother 1, Mother 2 on these papers?

I asked my gay friend whether he would be bothered being a "Father 2", and he laughed and wanted to read this article. Though it was pointless and a waste of taxpayer money. When did people become so very sensitive?

Scientists actually have created embryos with the genetic material of 3 individuals. The way it is done is to take an egg from two donors. One egg has the DNA extracted and discarded (though this leaves the mitochondrial DNA), then the DNA from the second egg is extracted and implanted into the first egg so that the egg now has the nuclear DNA of one woman and the mitochondrial DNA of another. Aye sorry I didn't mean the actual happening would replace the words mother/father, I meant for the sake of the comment where it would cost changing all the paperwork, that it wouldn't take time or money replacing words, just that it wouldn't cost if that was happening!

But, transexuals aren't a sexuality, they're a gender.

So a transexual female can be gay/bi/straight/pansexual etc, a male transexual can be etcetcetc.
