Who cares ?.....really.

Some loser has to be pay to get their rocks off and this is an issue?

I am sure there are much more legit topics to discuss..maybe world hunger, homelessness...etc.

Screw that let's focus on pervs who need to pay for human contact...

Maybe if no one talks about it, it will just go away.

Or maybe if it's illegal then no one will do it.

Adults are obviously incapable of making decisions for themselves.

Our issues with sexuality are at the core of all other issues. It is the most legit topic there is. If people didn't have opinions of others as losers and pervs.. we would have much less world hunger and homelessness and less need to pay for human contact.... Even if that means buying a coffee to sit in a shop near others.
But "screw" that.

legalize it, regulate it for diseases, tax it, and zone it.

the worlds oldest profession is not going away because of our laws...and we are paying tax dollars for law enforcement and medical bills where we could be making a profit and balancing the budget, while keeping things safe and in their own place.

Anyone whom has a disagreement for it being legal is not living in reality, and not thinking things through.

As far as would I pay a prostitute...not necessary, but I have no great moral objection to it...I personally enjoy being with someone I like verses just have sex..meh, getting past the 20s tends to alter desires to want depth with pleasure.

Interesting...some loser?
You realize people from all walks of life, rich and poor, all colors, all social dispositions visit prossys, right? Some simply don't want to deal with 3 weeks of dinner and a movie in order to score some (or whatever the reason).

Sort of short sighted to catagorize anyone whom gets a quick fix for pleasure to be losers..like labeling anyone whom smokes cigarettes or gambles a loser...vices are pretty neutral overall and serve a base function. But...if it is your measure on what will make you personally a loser in your own eyes...fair enough. just saying, lets not call an entire spectrum of people simple perv losers...that doesn't serve to further any argument.

If you think seeing young girls being forced into the sex slave trade is bad now wait until it becomes legal.

Wildly incorrect
making it legal means making it legit, and business operating licenses will be required.
meaning, no children on site...and the streets would empty significantly..allowing for first off more focused targetting of any questionable prostitution, but also make people whom want one go to a well established building verses prowl back alleys

You have given no actual thought to the subject matter. this is clear.

Its a way for some ladies to make money, with mutual consent.

Why does law have to get involved?

Does that include wives and girlfriends (i.e. houses, cars, rent, mobile phone, etc)? If so, I'd say 99.9999% would... I stick to the 99 cent rule, if they haven't slept with me first, all they get is the 99 cent menu at mcds (* smile *).

This world is indeed coming to an end.

And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way!

I do pay for prostitutes every time I pay the extortion fee known as income tax. I always figured that I would get some semblance of personal pleasure for paying prostitutes but have realized that these prostitutes I pay for are more appropriately called parasites. The only thing they suck on is my wallet and my life force.

I have no issues with adults doing what they wish when they agree upon the terms of their services/fees. It is the prostitutes that hold a gun to my head while f@#$ing me in the backside that I have an issue with.

Who the heck needs sex so bad that they would pay for it...I mean really.

I have never paid for sex...yet I still get it on at least four or five times a week and I have no steady lady..
I cannot see who would be so desperate that you would need to pay for it.

If your current partner doesn't do it for you then move on, you know what they...plenty of fish in the sea.
If you need freaky action there is always other people out there with same fetishes...just advertise..I hear that's how they find each other nowadays..or go to some type of party.

I will never understand some of my colleagues who pay for this stuff...I mean, they make just as much money as I do..have nice houses, families and such..yet they pay for sex. I have a lady by my side...never paid for..(well maybe a few drinks..depends on where you meet) and I watch these fools shell out thousands of dollars for a night out with a beautiful woman. Then again they are rather unattractive, overweight..etc....
, but with the money they make...they should be able to find some woman willing to sleep with them for free.

In support for it sure
Everything should be legalized so we can finally be adults about how we run our own lives. On a side note we do live in America ,most of us that is and getting ass involves having a little money at a bar and driving a nice car. All in all going to a bar would more then likely cost you a little less but you never know what kind of disease you may end up with.Just because a girl wants to give it up for free , does'nt mean shes disease free soo legalized prostitution is the way to be

Though, with actual prostitution, money can compensate for bad personality, or bad looks. Everyone needs loving, whether they have to pay for it or not.

He is from Texas. That explains it all right there. Ask him how he'd feel if Texas legalized mexicans crossing the border and evicted texans out of their homes and squatted on their property. Hey it would be legal so it makes it right yea? Just because they can do something doesn't always mean that they should

Excuse me? So if you are from Texas you automatically support prostitution?

That is such a stupid thing to even try to suggest.

His geographical location has nothing to do with anything and frankly, it is offensive for you to say such a thing.

Well, I am from Texas and have posted in this very thread saying that laws need to be in place in order to prevent the exploitation of children and adults who are forced into prostitution...

Should I accuse you of supporting incest because you are from Arkansas? Hey, we all know that stereo type.

Your jab at billy, makes no sense what so ever

How about you try again?

please. saying he supports legalizing prostitution because he is from Texas?

I mean... It almost might make a bit of since if he were from Vegas....

But really, you have failed with that one.

Also, quit pretending that Prostitution is something that only women do. Men prostitute as well.

yes, please try again

In some cities in calif the cops don't arrest hookers between 15 to 18.
Why because they can then target the johns as pedophiles.

Its a minor misdemeanor to get caught picking up a hooker.
But its a major felony to get caught having sex with a underage hooker. You are now a pedophile.

Some cops now set up johns with the help of these underage hookers and even had them falsely testafie in court that they did not work the streets but had been forced or intimidated by the johns.

is that true? If so, I find it gross that the cops are using these under age prostitutes, rather than protecting them....

Legalizing prostitution isn't going to reduce the number of children in the sex industry but it isn't going to increase it either. Legalization is something that should be done it becomes safer, regulated, decreases crime and increases revenue. It is right up there with prohibition of alcohol and weed, it costs more to keep it illegal than it ever will to allow it. Tying up the very resources that could be used to help prosecute things like the child slave industry more effectively.

It's not just you, Stellify. I've been struck by the men who compare their marriages/relationships to prostitution. If all the men who ever bought me dinner or a drink were doing it simply to have sex with me, then I'm glad that most of them didn't get it. My husband does buy me things, as I do him. He does it because he loves me, and he's been thinking of me, and he enjoys my companionship. It's about an awful lot more than sex.

I'm also bothered by the posters who talk about losing half THEIR stuff after a divorce. Really? Your stuff? And your wife just sat on her butt and did nothing to contribute the whole time you were married?

Prostitution is a complex issue, for sure, and I'm not really sure how I would answer the OP's original question. In the past, I was friends with two women who were trying to recover their lives after working as prositutes. They, certainly, would not recommend it as a lifestyle for anyone. They were very damaged women, very hard and fragile at the same time. They broke my heart, but inspired me at the same time, as I watched them rebuild their lives. I would imagine that there is the odd woman who does it just because she wants to, as hard as that is for me to imagine. But I suspect that most of them are doing it out of desperation. Legalizing it would make things somewhat better for some of them, but it still doesn't really get to the root of the problem, does it?

I just don't know.
