I disagree.
If you don't like dissenting or opposing ways of thinking, it may be more your issue than mine.

With such a humble and gracious response, I feel that I can offer you a course of action without being scoffed at. The basic and gentle way, if your spirit's interest if piqued, is;
Set your [spiritual] eyes on whatever is righteous and continue growing.

It is truly unimportant how far along in Truth you have developed. It is only important that we commune with the Eternal.

Understanding and Understanding Expressed.
For those who know to do good and do not do it, it will be counted as decay. And death comes after decay.

Our bodies may decay, but it is not necessitated that our soul will also.

The issue is not dissent. Your vocabulary seems sufficient, but I do not believe you understand the fullness of their meanings.

You are not offering a dissenting view of the Opening Poster's topic, you are arguing about titling and you are also psychoanalytically injecting motive/conclusions based upon a subjective opinion. Again, the nature of your communication is self-condemning.

I have to get back to work now. I am sorry if there is a delay responding to anything.

Wow, what a long thread for a simple concept.

People (especially partisans) -- want to be enlightened?

1.) STFU and listen.
2.) Look for contradictions in "your" (group) beliefs. Challenge and reject the contradictions.
3.) Correctness > belonging to your flawed group.
4.) Now that you are free of groupthink, go out and absorb facts. Now you can build a correct, undistorted view of reality.
5.) Never forget this - it's not what someone believes, but WHY they believe it.

The OP is subjective.

I was pointing that out if you didn't catch that.

Having an ego so large as to discuss "enlightenment" and tell others what it is and how to achieve it seems the antithesis of enlightenment.

If intellectual masturbation gets you off then..........be my guest.

enlightenment is a lot like sincerity.....if you can fake sincerity.................you got it made.

"How You Know Somebody is Enlightened"

You can only know who is not enlightened.

They would be the the ones telling everyone how to be enlightened...

To me 'enlightenment' is 'accepting things'. When we accept things, we evolve and rise beyond it. I probably would recognise my idea of 'enlightenment' in others if they displayed unlimited patience in everything.

With your stats and using such a broad definition of the word masturbation, I am surprised you are so quick to speak.

I've been exchanging posts on the board more than usual this last weekend.
I have much to do, and add to that the amount of uncivil, backwards and regressive posts, this forum seems to becoming nearly worthless for any sort of productive outlet of communication. (Sorry mods/owners gentlemanly/ladylike users, I trust you strive for better).

To miss the point and tell someone they are missing the point... well, I just have nothing nice to say. I no longer wish to acknowledge your empty communication. Sorry for this if you're a better person in "real life" communication.

Everyone usually recognizes that feeling of joy inside of them when something "good" is heard, seen, or known. Stay close to those things and don't worry about the rest.

A contrarian response to something as simple as that is somewhat expected, but I hope you might simply receive it and do whatever you will with it in your personal life.

In other words, those who have wisdom never share?

Or, those who have wisdom don't ever try to share on internet forums filled with troll-like communicators?

Or, those who have wisdom are not allowed to encourage others to greater things?

I'll be honest, I am not interested in your answer. This is simply rhetoric to box your post into the limited concept that it is so that, maybe, people might share some productive posts.

Then again... internet forum...

Presumably speaking you subscribe to a higher standard then. "Pleased to meet you. Hope you guess my name." So how well have you aged?

Life prescribed me, but yes, in effect.
Also, you.
In the right circumstance, maybe, Adelphi?
I feel unsure that I am connecting on the same wavelength as you intend, but I often feel as though the more I understand, and even strive to express, I only grow younger and more unwise. I long for birth, but often fear the process. I know Comfort, but forget too easily.

Those who are truly elightnend MOST LIKELY don't spend time on the internet nor conspiracy forums.

The majority of us are still students and should learn to remember this. It takes some real discipline that most of us are even able to fathom.

Just saying.

I think I'll go induldge in a cigarette, coffee, and more CT that lead me no where. Then I will sleep until I have to return to "normalcy" at school and work tmrw. March March March

ATS has become the haunt of posters who identify themselves as skeptics - as rational people who purport to define the truth underlying any subject by using a scientific process - by the application of knowledge acquired from carefully monitored experiments - the results of which have been corroborated by renowned experts in their field.

In addition to this, if challenged about the nature of their various responses - they defend the approach with "I am here to fulfill the agenda of the ATS forum, i.e. to deny ignorance.

In actual fact though I suspect the majority of these self-avowed skeptics are here to work at their hobby - i.e.shooting fish in a barrel.

So many issues which are of interest to conspiracy theorists are of an ethereal nature. Such as 'enlightenment', 'ufos', 'spirits', 'altered states of perception', 'the soul', 'God or gods' or in fact any of the extensive list of poo-pooed subjects one will find on any Skeptic group's website. One doesn't require hardly any preparation, or contemplation to wade in like Flynn and start shooting the fish in the barrel. Professional skeptics have cut their teeth on almost any such subject of ethereal nature and their apprentices can enter any such thread with great confidence and aplomb. All the debunking work has already been done for them and that work is nothing more than conservative understanding - occum's razor, the philosophy of the bleeding obvious.

Metaphysics is not superstition and the mystic or spiritual dimension is not equivalent to organized religion. Conventional science has become an organized religion in its own right and psychologists have become the new priests. In comparison to modern science and psychology organized religion appears immature and childish.

ATS has become a hunting ground where people whose perception stems from a dominant left hemispheric brain hunt out those who are right-brain dominant, and attempt to patronize them as an adult would a child.

To me ATS should be the grounds whereby a combined perception of left and right brain hemispheres can be created to explore reality - i.e a binocular vision.
