The diamond shape is cause by zooming in too far and out of focus, and is a result of the camera's aperture (which is diamond shaped as it closes up).

And still wondering if it can proven that these eyewitness videos were in fact shot that night (and not just a re-upload of something else). I don't think there were any launches anywhere on the Western side of the USA.

I spent quite a long time searching for anything related to a rocket launch, and found absolutely nothing.

So I don't think there were any rocket launches of any type of significance, at least not on the public record.

Anyone interested can do some searches, but like I said, I can't find anything. If you do find something please post it up.

Comparison videos are not proof. They are mere comparisons, and tenuous ones at best.

Have you supplied any Documentation proving this video is indeed a specific shuttle launch? I want documentation, not a "comparison video" which you feel super-sure about. I am not so sure, and with documentation which correlates the two than I will accept your explanation.

You are right that we have no documentation that the video in the OP was an old video of a night shuttle launch.

However, seeing that the only person who can tell us what they videotaped was the person who videotaped it -- and if that person was the video uploader on YouTube (jfrissina -- whose name is James Frissina), then he probably won't admit what it was, because he is someone many consider to be a known hoaxer, His YouTube channel sells advertisement, so he makes money from his videos -- some of which have been labeled as hoaxes, and some of which have appeared on ATS before. He also has other paid advertisement sites where he has uploaded many other UFO and paranormal videos.

The more people who visit his YouTube channel and other sites, the more money he makes. Granted, the fact he sells ads isn't necessarily proof that he is a hoaxer, but it is one additional piece of evidence (i.e., a motive) to go along with the other evidence that some of his videos seem to be hoaxes.


Going back to gift0fpr0phecy's video comparison...

'gift0fpr0phecy's' video looks similar enough to the video in the OP that I would say I'm at least 99% sure the video in the OP is an old video of a space shuttle launch -- possibly videotaped by the uploader himself. Am I 100% sure? No. Do I have documentation from jfrissina that he is lying about what that video is? No -- of course I don't.

So I suppose in my opinion there is a less than 1% chance that the video in the OP (the one that looks remarkably like a space shuttle night launch) may not actually be a space shuttle night launch, because I have no documentation from the person who made the video as to what it was he was really filming.

So I suppose it is within the realm of possibility that the video in the OP is something other than a space shuttle night launch...

There was not, and there will not be any more shuttle launches ever again. That era is in the past.

Any new "shuttles" will be totally different models with far advanced technological improvements.

I won't dispute your assertions of the Youtube user's history. I know nothing of that, so I will take your word for it at face value.

I didn't visit this person's youtube channel and will avoid doing so for several of the reasons you have mentioned among other personal reasons.

I don't know for sure, but yes I would lean towards misrepresentation of an authentic historical video because that appears to be the most likely probability.

Yeah but as I pointed out 2-3 pages ago, it is identical to videos of similar dual booster type rockets such as the later models within the Titan series for example. The launch videos are nearly exact mirror images (when viewed at night-time).

So it could be any type of dual booster rocket tech, not necessarily a shuttle launch.

If you saw a meteor, and it glowed with a green hue, than it was made of copper as per the wikipedia information on meteoroids. wiki link

...that does not negate the fact that the by looking at the video comparison that 'gift0fpr0phecy' did between the video in the OP and a video of a shuttle night launch look extremely similar -- similar enough for me (personally) to believe that the video in the OP probably WAS a shuttle night launch filmed sometime in the past in Florida and NOT an event filmed in California on September 14.

That's the point here. The point is that the two videos look remarkably like the same (or similar) events -- and we know that the second one is a space shuttle night launch.

Go to 2:45 where the dual boosters detach. This is exactly identical to a shuttle launch with a night-time poor quality video. (It's a Titan IV model).

My point is that we cannot automatically assume it was the shuttle since there are many other models of rocket technology which would look exactly the same. I apologize for being picky about that, but I prefer to avoid making precise claims with such an imprecise video to judge it based upon.

Maybe that's what it was. I can't be 100% sure it was the shuttle, either...

...However, the video in the OP does not match any of the reported sightings, so I can't even be sure the video in the OP was taken on September 14 in California, as it is claimed.

If the video shown in the OP really IS of a September 14 sighting, then it's a totally separate sighting that maybe only the videographer seen -- considering that NO other eyewitness accounts sounded anything like what is in the video in the OP.

So going back to the topic of this thread, which is Human_Alien's assertion that this video proves that what the people saw that night could not have been a meteor, I would say this video has no relevance to what the people saw that night because it doesn't match what they say they saw.

Although these anchor-women sound like a bunch of bimbettes, I am satisfied (especially with the Texas sightings coming in) that one of the two sightings Sept 14 in south California was NOT a meteor. Or any of them for that matter!

And this video below, although we've all pretty much seen it, appears to have this 'meteor' zig-zagging'. And not because the bimbettes are saying so but, look at it yourself.

Now of course we're going to have the 'it's an airplanes' people chiming in because after all, we Humans need to be able, at all cost, to hold the answers to everything!

I don't know if this is posted but this very well could be a authentic video of the meteor.



If you notice it is green colored, as the reports claim.

It's a top youtube video at the moment, and many people are claiming it matches what they saw.

Was this video originally the famous Peekskill meteor? Near the end of the 2006 posted video I saw something that appears to be stadium stands. I know the Peekskill meteor was filmed from a football stadium, so it very likely may be that.
