ABCnews15 story talking about the 1st AND 2nd event.

Here I even transcribed the important parts so anyone who is feeling particularly lazy can just read it here instead of watching it in the video.

Adam Slinger: He saw two different events. Now this is a picture of the first event.
He saw this little orange dot streaking across the sky it did not make a sound and he says it hovered above the clouds for about 15 minutes or so before it disappeared into the atmosphere.

Then about 30 minutes later he saw a meteorite.

Brian McElhatten: And you could see pieces falling off, it almost looked like almost like a Roman candle flying horizontally through the sky if you're familiar with that and it lasted almost 4-5 seconds.

Our multimedia journalist Brien McElhatten captured two photos when he saw a glowing orange light before an object started streaking across the sky. One photo shows how the glowing light looked in Chandler.

The other image was taken as McElhatten kept the shutter open to show the object streaking across the sky.

Photo #1 showing bright orange glowing object
Photo #2 Same object with shutter open to show streaking effect

I wonder if everybody has forgotten about this 1st event prior to the meteor that was reported on September 14, 2011. It seems to me that this is at least a credible piece of information on the 1st event given it came from reporter Brien McElhatten from ABC15 News. Here's his bio if you're want to know more about him and judge for yourself if he is a worthy source of information.

Brien McElhatten Bio

Brien McElhatten is a Multimedia Journalist for ABC15 News. He joined the team in August 2010 after working as a reporter in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he covered topics including government and education. Brien grew up in a military family and traveled the country while growing up. He credits a childhood on the move for his curiosity which put him on a path to journalism. Brien attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, but spent his first two years of college at Ohio University in Athens. An Eagle Scout, Brien spends much of his time outside and enjoys “roughing it” every now and then. Read more: www.abc15.com...

I think everybody needs to calm down a little bit and stop implying that other members are lying or making things up. It's obvious from this news report that people saw two different events that night which would account for the different stories we've been hearing. Hence the confusion here on ATS.

Now obviously there has been a lot of problems with the youtube vids that have been popping up regarding this event. I know a couple of them have been proven to be hoaxes, HOWEVER, it is important not to throw the baby out with the bathwater, doncha think?

Perhaps we should get back to the credible evidence we have on hand and speculate from there.

It's a video of a dot of white light over a black backdrop, that's not enough information to go with sorry.
That's the problem with videos like this.

It can be a UFO (because it is unidentified), but it may not even be flying, so we cannot call it a UFO.

We could call it a light in the sky, but we do not even know if that's true, it could be all CGI.

The fact is nobody can prove to all people that this is a video from a shuttle launch, in the same way nobody can prove to all people that this is a meteor or an alien spacecraft or a new species of firefly.

Now, is this from the event from September 14? Maybe, maybe not, but if it was it would be natural that other videos would support this one, but, from what I have seen, other videos from September 14 do not look like this one.

Meanwhile, all the energy that is spent trying to prove that this video is or is not from that event is not being spent in trying to understand what happened, and that's one possible reason for the use of diversions, like fake videos.

To everybody, remember that the topic is not this or that ATS member, we are supposed to discuss the topic (the video), not each other.

This is my first ATS post! Woo! Be prepared for the awesomeness that follows:

(the following refers to the OP video) I'm perfectly willing to believe in UFOs, aliens, etc when all possible or logical explanations have been eliminated. When someone says, "It's a UFO," and then I see multiple videos of a space shuttle launch doing the same thing, there is just something inside me that can't possibly believe it is anything other than the space shuttle. Someone posted as to how the video could be uploaded so quickly that night. Well, if I was in the habit of trying to make thousands of hits on my Youtube page, I would be as creative as possible to make this happen. The video is completely legit. The idea of it being a UFO is not legit.

The ABC video of the ballpark is clearly something burning up in the atmosphere. I don't care what it is, it's burning up in the atmosphere. Could it be an alien ship from Zorgon? Sure, but it's clearly burning up in the atmosphere so I don't care what it is because it's burned up now. I'm still inclined to believe it was a meteor because if aliens managed to travel billions of light years to Earth only to have a fatal mishap in our atmosphere, then well, the joke is on them. They really need to work on their invasion/observation techniques.

I, the OP did not take this footage. In fact it's being suggested it's stock-footage from a STS launch or re-entry. Whatever!

Shaky huh? That's a good point. If this is a duplicate how come it's shaky? Ah nevermind...I can hear it now. The dude taped it off his DVD or something.

There's always an explanation. And right now.....ing into 2012, Human explanations just aren't good enough anymore. Especially when they're so run of the mill and easy!

Exactly. Great post ArMaP, thank you sir!

I agree that calling it a UFO is also an assumption on my part which could be false.

I suppose the correct terminology would be "Vague and totally impossible to identify video of a dot over a black screen". It could be CGI, totally.

If it's really something flying than it could very well be something other than the shuttle, like a Titan III rocket as I pointed out earlier since they also utilize dual boosters.

The OP's video lied about it being a UFO. They lied about the location. They lied about the date. It is complete deception. It is a HOAX.

Not so fast.
Titan III rockets

Dual Boosters dropped at 2:45 in the video. (It's apparently a Titan IV though sorry- just caught that)

Which is it? A Titan III or the shuttle?

Gotcha!

Thank you so much for posting. Welcome!

I believe there were at least two sightings that night.

As far as this being STS stock footage?
I would think a television studio corporation would HAVE to do their homework and not play something that will come back to bite them.

This 'hoax' was played on at least one if not several network news stations.

I am not giving tv a god-like standard but come on. If they're going to show someone else's video they have to have certain guide lines to assure it's not a CGI or in this instance, taken from some other footage pretending to be something else!

Hey, I believe, no...I know alien technology is here. So whose to say we're not mimicking what we've learned so far? Maybe a rocket booster separation came from cloning or back engineering what they learned from aliens?
Maybe this is one gigantic mind -phuck?! Whose to say.

But to say this is a STS? Nah. I am not buying it! Yet.

Also just asserting that 1+1=2 means you are correct is a fallacy.

I will show one of the many reasons why, purely based on the logic itself.
Beware though, this is deeply philosophical.

(1+1=2) = False

"Is (1 + 1 = 2) a truth? The equation is consistent and repeatable within the system of mathematical thought, but outside of that system, and similar ones, the consistency and repeatability of the equation does not stand to reason. For example, in terms of time and space, there is no such thing as two identical units. So 1 + 1 cannot equal 2. From another perspective, when the units and signs of the equation are broken down in terms of their meanings, they come to an unknown. So we really don't know if 1 + 1 = 2 is a truth. Further, if the units and signs are mere invented labels with invented meanings, it follows that it is unlikely that the equation really is a truth (ie. truth does not equate with the fabrication of thought)."

There are many other reasons why the way it is used are patently incorrect as well, but instead of going into this off-topic debate I will leave it at this.

Just FYI

Didn't you noticed the "Courtesy: YouTube" on the top right corner?

They (YouTube and media companies) are all on the same side, making money fast with little work.
Just read point 6.C from the YouTube Terms of Service:

For clarity, you retain all of your ownership rights in your Content. However, by submitting Content to YouTube, you hereby grant YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the Content in connection with the Service and YouTube's (and its successors' and affiliates') business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Service (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. You also hereby grant each user of the Service a non-exclusive license to access your Content through the Service, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such Content as permitted through the functionality of the Service and under these Terms of Service. The above licenses granted by you in video Content you submit to the Service terminate within a commercially reasonable time after you remove or delete your videos from the Service. You understand and agree, however, that YouTube may retain, but not display, distribute, or perform, server copies of your videos that have been removed or deleted. The above licenses granted by you in user comments you submit are perpetual and irrevocable.

No risk of a lawsuit (at least from my understanding of all that legalese

Nah, mine looks more accurate than yours.

I can throw subjective opinions around and claim them as proof too.

You have not addressed my correlation at all.

Please explain why it cannot possibly be a Titan III or IV rocket? Why??

Also please do not call me a fool when I present something that looks just like yours except it's not a shuttle it's a Titan III / IV model rocket system. I now know for sure you are not playing fair.

Thanks for the welcome.

If we were reverse engineering alien spacecraft that are capable of traveling billions of light years - why would they be using rockets? It's like saying the Nazca lines are proof of runways. Runways are for jets and prop planes. If something is capable of defying or manipulating gravity, they certainly don't need a runway. I've seen plenty of videos of lights in the sky zig zagging and making crazy maneuvers at high speeds - those videos seem more indicative of reverse engineering than something that looks amazingly close to a rocket launch. All I'm saying is that, although I can't be 100% sure, it wouldn't make ANY sense that such an advanced civilization would be using rockets to get anywhere. We have rockets and we've barely launched anything out of the solar system. Just doesn't seem to be an effective form of transportation to me at all.

Also add in the fact that poster is not having a senseless debate between Titan rockets and Space Shuttles.

I agree it's annoying, but it is necessary to bring people back to earth sometimes when they get outta hand.
Sorry about that.

I'll be back in awhile to see where this goes.

Well thank you. It is difficult sometimes to make sense on ATS when everything gets so convoluted in such a hurry! I just get irritated when the main focus of an interesting topic gets so completely lost, so I have to sit down and try to sort it all out and when I do (if I ever do) I like to share it!

Does it matter?

The video is titled UFO ?? NEW VIDEO Southern California mystery object ?? UFO or Meteor ?? Sept 14, 2011

Whether it's a shuttle launch or a Titan launch, it did not happen in Southern California on September 14, 2011. This alone makes the video a hoax. Which means this thread should be in the hoax bin.

It is not a meteor and it's a pretty good bet that the youtube poster knows exactly what it is (shuttle or Titan), therefore it's not a UFO.

That is so disturbing!

Well I guess the small print is what keeps this country going and people duped (and people STILL question 9-11??)

I am from the Human Race. Not from the Hypocrisy race for ratings and attention! So call me one of the dying breed of honesty and humility!

I am very troubled by this!

Whatever. Still doesn't convince me that this video is one from stock footage. What you did show me however is trust no one. So I remain...........unconvinced!
