Most people do not take the time to look at this subject objectively, and the "evidence" and opinions many are reading and regarding as fact are written by individuals who are already fanatic in their beliefs and biases. That is the truth of the matter, and aliens in fact do NOT exist. At least not in the form that you are referring to.
To explain the fly-by anomalies, Earth-bound dark matter would have to be concentrated within a radius of about 44,000 miles around Earth, at a much higher density than astronomers have calculated to be typical of the densities in the galaxy.

belief in the existence of aliens takes a lot of faith just like it takes a lot of faith to believe in the existence of god.
the evidence is mostly testimonials for both. there are pictures of u f o sand accounts of sightings just like there are sightings of the virgin mary in clouds trees and tortillas...

Yes, it does. And the major thing is, there is a preponderance of evidence that ET is here, and has been here since the beginning of this little experiment, and no evidence at all that there is a God like most religious people think of a God. Perhaps there is, I will not say one way or other. I have never seen a God, but I have seen ET craft, and alien beings. To me, proof is in the pudding, so to speak.

My honest 2 cents in a very generalized way towards not only this thread, but ATS in general:
I personally think that ATS management should change their ''nifty'' little motto from ''deny ignorance'' to ''deny, mock and disregard anything and everything that doesn't offer any concrete evidence or proof and doesn't come from a peer reviewed journal, a credible source of information or a scientifically confirmed and tested source.''
Because after all, anything else that doesn't fit under this criteria is nothing but a ''lie'', a ''hoax'' or a ''money making scheme'', right?
Cheers.

OP: In my opinion there is nothing wrong with holding a belief (even if the belief is not proved to be correct, provided one does not assert it as a fact) and I respect your beliefs. I am glad for you if your beliefs bring you fulfillment and happiness.
However, with that said, there is a distinction between beliefs and irrefutably provable facts. The case you have presented here not only produces no verifiable proof, but actually makes a point to avoid offering such proof. The person claiming to have had this experience says that the beings he encountered told him not to try to prove their existence because those who were "ripe" would know.
You ask that we read the material herein with an open mind because it will then become clear to us in an undeniable way that contact is a reality. Yet the material you linked to does not provide any verifiable proof of his claims or of his alleged encounter. It merely makes the claims and relates a story which we have no way of proving or disproving. Again, I respect and accept your beliefs. But I ask that you not ask others of a more skeptical nature to share your belief without proof or express dismay when we question the lack of verifiable proof.
As my signature says, skeptics and believers need not be at odds. But for that to be true, skeptics and believers must understand one another and hold mutual respect for one another. When you tell us you are tired of skepticism and that you have proof of contact and then produce no irrefutable proof, it does not create an environment conducive to mutual understanding and respect in my opinion.
Here is the compromise I try to make with people: I will make no factual assertions about what is or is not true unless I can prove it, and I will respect and accept your personal beliefs, provided you distinguish between belief and fact, and provide proof of anything you assert is a fact. I believe that this is more than fair, and creates understanding, respect, and tolerance between believers and skeptics.edit on 8/18/2011 by AceWombat04 because: Typo
