Let's not forget how the police force was formed.. it was through volunteers who wanted to do something about the troubles in society.. In all, a good cause, yet now it is as broken as the banks and the system..

But let's also not forget recent news regarding the force..
I think that of the 15000 that are being let go will more than likely return as volunteers just because of the bad state of affairs that is going on.. This riot could be part of the method in which theses 'volunteers', volunteer..

Labour says police forces are forcing 2,100 of the most experienced officers into early retirement, some of whom are then being asked to rejoin on a voluntary basis

Some background for those of you outside of the UK - US folks, I think you'll see similarities...
Correct me if I'm wrong fellow UK ATS users, it's the way I see it. My job is strategic thinking.

The UK govt has stolen over 1,000 billion pounds from the British people to further fund the greed and irresponsibility of the banks. They have stolen from the poor to give to the rich.

Now we are told we must face cuts to social services to pay for this while the bankers carry on living the high life. There is no record of exactly how much the people of Britain have given to the banks. There is no schedule of repayment. There is no penalty for defaulting on re-payment. Does this sound like a normal 'loan' to you?

It is time now for the people of Britain to rise up and take back our country from the hands of the guilty collusion of politicians and bankers. We must fight the power - TOGETHER. Together we are strong. Together we outnumber them. The state will persecute us, slander us and, like as not, try to eradicate us.

Be strong, be fearless. They are cowards, we are the brave. Let us cure our nation of this sickness. Let us once more have a green and pleasant land. A land where we are fairly treated as equals. Where money is spent on critical services, not insane govt policies and excessive bureaucracy.

Every govt acts with impunity. An unwritten agreement exists to guarantee that they will not prosecute their predecessors, however serious their crimes, that they too can get away with murder upon leaving power. We must demand change. We must demand an end to this unwritten agreement.

We, the people, must demand true justice. If it is not given, we must take it.

Zanoni

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.
John F. Kennedy

It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.
Henry Ford

If it was all about looting, then the stand off we are seeing now, would not be happening? Youths against the police, it is NOT looting! Disenfranchised youth fed up with the lack of investment, no hope society they live in, standing up just like the youth in Egypt? Do you think there was no looting in Egypt when the uprising took place there? Yes, it was taking place. But we all hailed that uprising as good as they were fighting against a regime they did not like. Why can't the peeps and media here realise it is the same here????

Theyre all youths they just need a good whack, or water cannon

Or maybe an education, some discipline,a job and HOPE for the future.
That helps prevent crap like this in the first place IMO.

A lot of these parts of London have a big divide 'tween the haves and have nots.
This is a big part of the problem.

That is very admirable, and shows the quality and commitment of our Good Coppers-What worries me is they will not be able to afford to volunteer,as their Savings/pensions could be destroyed along with everyone elses in the coming economic troubles.
Lets hop[e it does not come to that, but It ain't looking too rosy at the moment sadly.

Extraordinary image on sky news, around 15-20 buses backed up end to end on the high street
while the police stand back and allow about 100ish thugs to continue causing mahem for
ordinary people in the evening rush hours....

Interesting point of view, I wouldn't doubt that at all, in fact, if I were one of those policemen who found out that 15,000 jobs were being cut I wouldn't do a dam thing either..

They actually mentioned this earlier today on Sky news-that as soon as the police found out about the cuts they were totally demoralized-I can understand that,as the cops know they only just keeping a lid on things with the 15000 still working-when they are gone the police left on the streets will be in more danger, with less support/backup and resources.
Crime against the person will go up,assaults, thefts rapes, the lot.

I think the government have made a massive error in getting rid of so many cops, but of course the areas the Gov live will always have plenty of police...just watch.

I am amongst the first to speak out against police brutality when it happens, and there may well be something fishy about what happened to Mr Duggan, but I think sacking 15000 cops is a crazy move.

How they care for us the small people, our loving Government...

They haven't "got rid" of any police.
They have a couple of weeks ago shut down many of the youth clubs, overnight, no warning.
I reckon this has been caused ( agent provocateurs) to enable certain agendas to be rolled out prior to the olympics.
I would expect all of this to be sited as the excuse to bring in a curfew around the olympics.

I grew up in a drug infested area in a damp filled flat on the top floor of a tower block. I was lucky to eat sometimes because my wasted parents prefered their substances to looking after my bro and I. My bedroon was that damp there was mushrooms and fungus growing on the walls. I had charity toys and clothes.

But not once did i go out looting, robbing and causing trouble.

These moronic, thieving assholes need a good kicking and the fear of God put up them end of story!

Stop trying to excuse their scummy behaviour.

This is in my opinion, the beginning of TSHTF. Media and police are determined to call this opportunist criminalities, however with economies the way they are and no-one getting any wealthier, shops and business will close and the general population will suffer, groups around the country will see this as an opportunity to join in and bring chaos to other cities, I believe this has the potential to spread and spread fast which will pretty much end by bringing the UK to a halt and possibly/hopefully bringing down the government. While the media persist in calling this simply as thuggery, it will soon become clear its got a lot to do with desperate people just wanting to survive. The people have been oppressed enough by lack of jobs, rise in cost of living and general upset at a fast becoming police state, they brought it upon themselves IMO and many of us seen this coming months ago, it was just a matter of time and unfortunatly like I say, it will spread throughout the country, Thankfully iv been stocking up on the essentials for quite some time as this was always going to happen.

Don't know if anyone has said but they are rioting in mare street E8 and they are not letting anyone leave, my little sis is stuck inside this riot
police closed of all exits the crowed is getting pushed back to the hackney town hall. She is calling me scared and the police can see she is not part of it but won't let her out

If the riots get worse they are going to send in army to get the situation under control, the police are already stretched and will not be able to manage if it gets worse.
